You can gift an eligible Fortnite skin or bundle only through the in-game Item Shop, and only if it is currently offered there. Before you send it, enable 2FA, reach level 2, and make sure the recipient has been on your Friends list for at least two days. V-Bucks themselves cannot be sent through Fortnite gifting.
What you need before sending a gift
- 2FA enabled: the sender must have two-factor authentication set up on their Epic account.
- Account level 2 or higher: the sender must meet this minimum level.
- Two days as friends: the recipient must have been on the sender’s Friends list for at least two days.
- An eligible current offer: the skin or bundle must appear in the in-game Item Shop and be giftable.
- Recipient eligibility: Epic lists a negative V-Bucks balance as a reason an account cannot receive gifts.
Epic Games Support also documents a limit of five gifts per 24 hours. Each limit resets based on the time the gifts were sent. Its support page does not display a publication or revision date, so check the current requirements in Epic’s Fortnite gifting guide before purchasing.

How to gift a skin or bundle
- Open Fortnite and go to the in-game Item Shop. Find the skin or bundle you want to send and check that it is currently available and eligible for gifting.
- Select the offer, then choose GIFT.
- Choose the recipient or search for them using their Epic Games display name. Epic recommends using the display name to reduce the risk of selecting the wrong friend.
- Review the price shown in the gifting window for that recipient, along with the item and recipient details.
- Confirm the purchase only when those details are correct. Epic states that gifts are non-refundable.
- The recipient must log in to Fortnite to receive the gift.
Gifting is supported on Android, PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox, according to Epic’s support guide. The same guide recommends searching by Epic display name rather than relying on a console gamertag.
Why a skin or bundle may not be giftable
Being visible somewhere in Fortnite does not necessarily make an offer giftable. Epic’s rules limit gifts to eligible offers in the current in-game Item Shop. Its listed exclusions include:
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
- V-Bucks and Battle Pass levels.
- Items that are not currently in the Item Shop.
- Certain offers sold for real money, including Fortnite Crew and Event Passes.
- Battle Pass Level bundles.
- Dynamically priced bundles in cases where the recipient already owns one or more items in the bundle.
Bundle pricing can differ between accounts because owned items may affect the displayed price. The amount shown in the gifting window is the relevant recipient-specific price; check it before confirming. Epic explains this in its bundle gifting help page.
Use the in-game Item Shop, not the Web Item Shop
Epic says gifts must be purchased and sent from Fortnite’s in-game Item Shop. The Web Item Shop can be used to buy cosmetic items for your own account, but it does not send gifts. See Epic’s Web Item Shop support page for that distinction.

How to give V-Bucks instead
Fortnite does not provide a way to transfer V-Bucks directly to another player. Epic’s documented option is to buy a physical V-Bucks card from a participating retailer and give it to the recipient to redeem on their Epic account. The recipient can then choose what to buy; this does not send a specific skin or bundle. Check that the card is legitimate and that its region and redemption terms work for the recipient. Epic’s instructions are on its V-Bucks gifting support page.

Epic says it can be redeemed to add funds to an Epic account balance, which can be spent on eligible purchases in the Epic Games Store or Fortnite on mobile or PC. Epic notes that V-Bucks bought with Epic account balance are available on connected platforms except Nintendo, which does not support Fortnite Shared Wallet; items bought with those V-Bucks appear in the Locker across connected platforms. Redemption rules, availability, and platform terms can vary, so review Epic’s Fortnite Gift Card support page before choosing this route.
