Choose the Dalaran you mean
World of Warcraft has more than one version of Dalaran. The routes below are for Legion Dalaran, the floating city associated with the Broken Isles. A route guide from Warcraft Tavern describes the Hearthstone, Azsuna portal and Mage spells as ways to reach this version: How to Get to Dalaran.

If you mean the older city in Northrend from Wrath of the Lich King, these directions will not take you there.
Fastest route: use the Dalaran Hearthstone
If your character has a usable Dalaran Hearthstone, use it to travel directly to Legion Dalaran. It is an in-game item, not a physical product. The guide reports that characters who started the Legion campaign on a character in their Warband should have the Hearthstone in their toy collection; do not assume every character has it. Check your collection or inventory before choosing this route.

From Stormwind or Orgrimmar: portal to Azsuna, then fly
- Alliance: Go to the portal room in Stormwind and take the portal to Azsuna.
- Horde: Go to the portal room in Orgrimmar and take the portal to Azsuna.
- Once in Azsuna, fly east to Legion Dalaran.
The Azsuna portal takes you to the zone, not into Dalaran itself, so the flight is part of the route. The portal locations and route are reported by the Warcraft Tavern guide; if you do not see the portal in your client, available portals can vary with game progression and current game state.
For Mages: use a Dalaran spell
The route guide lists Teleport: Dalaran – Broken Isles for a Mage’s personal travel and Portal: Dalaran – Broken Isles for creating a portal. These are class spells, so they are only options for characters with access to them. Check your spellbook and the spell’s exact name in the live client; other characters can use the Hearthstone or Azsuna route.

Why Dalaran can seem both accessible and destroyed
Blizzard’s The War Within story timeline says Xal’atath’s assault destroyed Dalaran after siphoning its arcane power into the Dark Heart: Blizzard’s Warcraft timeline. That is story context. It does not, by itself, establish that the legacy Legion-era location used for older content is no longer reachable through the routes above.

Game access is separate from the travel route
Reaching Dalaran is an in-game navigation question, not a subscription requirement in itself. Blizzard’s starter guide says subscription or game time is needed to continue beyond level 20: World of Warcraft Starter Edition. That is an account-access note, not a step in either route.
