The reliable way to get the Spooky Dash Sprite is to search Pumpkin Chests during the Fortnitemares 2026 Battle Royale rollout. You can also enter Trick or Treat Cheat Codes, trade for a duplicate, take one from a defeated player carrying it, or use the Lucky Locator Gizmo. The Sprite is treated as a rare Mythic drop, and Epic has not published an exact drop rate.
Where to find the Spooky Dash Sprite
Epic’s Fortnitemares 2026 announcement identifies Pumpkin Chests scattered across the Island as the event source for Sprites. Current guides also report that rare chests, including vault loot, can contain one.

Because chest contents and locations can change with map and loot updates, treat named landing spots as routes to try rather than guaranteed spawns.
Fastest search route
- Queue into Battle Royale during the Fortnitemares 2026 event. The Sprite is tied to the event rollout, so it may not be obtainable in ordinary post-event matches.
- Choose a Pumpkin Chest route. Nightmare Neighborhood has concentrated event loot but is heavily contested. Landing on its edge, finding a weapon, and then rotating through the chest locations is safer than dropping directly into the busiest point.
- Try quieter alternatives. Current guide recommendations include Wonkeeland, Cluster Coast, and Chopped Shop. Their loot and contest levels may change after map or balance updates.
- Open every Pumpkin Chest you can reach. Epic describes these chests as the Island source for Sprites. Search additional rare chests and vault loot when you have access to them.
- Use Trick or Treat Cheat Codes. Codes found at points of interest and in or around Vault areas provide another primary acquisition route. Enter them whenever you find one while looting.
- Repeat the search if necessary. The Sprite is considered rare. No authoritative Epic drop-rate percentage is available, so do not treat an exact percentage quoted by an unofficial guide as established.
Fallback ways to obtain it
- Trade with a teammate: a teammate who has a duplicate can give you one.
- Eliminate a carrier: current guides report that an equipped Sprite can be collected from a defeated player who was carrying it.
- Use the Lucky Locator Gizmo: guides describe this as a targeted last resort for a Sprite that is not yet in your collection.
What the Spooky Dash Sprite does
Epic describes its effect as: “Dash into a fight or out of trouble with charges that replenish over time.” The ability is the Phase Dash. Secondary gameplay guidance says it activates while you are airborne and can pass through some objects, including player-built structures.

That makes it useful for escaping a box fight, crossing exposed ground, pushing through a tight point of interest, or suddenly closing distance on an opponent. It is a mobility tool rather than a healing effect: Epic describes the Vampire Sprite, by comparison, as restoring health through damage.
Reported Phase Dash cooldown by level
Beebom reports the following cooldowns. Epic has not published an official level-by-level table, so recheck these values after balance patches.

How to choose a route and use the Sprite
For contested drops
Nightmare Neighborhood can put you close to several event-loot opportunities, but heavy early competition makes it risky. Land at the edge, secure a weapon and shields, then search inward rather than contesting the central landing immediately.

For safer collection attempts
Wonkeeland, Cluster Coast, and Chopped Shop are reported quieter alternatives. Use a vehicle or early rotation to check multiple chest routes, since no listed location guarantees the Sprite.

For combat and escapes
Save a Phase Dash charge for the moment an opponent boxes you, when you must cross open ground, or when a close-range push needs an unexpected angle. Since charges replenish over time, avoid spending every charge merely to rotate unless the next fight is unavoidable.
How it compares with other Sprite goals
- Mobility versus survivability: Spooky Dash supplies movement; Vampire Sprite is the healing-oriented option described by Epic.
- Acquisition reliability: Pumpkin Chests and Cheat Codes are repeatable search methods. Trading, eliminations, and the Lucky Locator Gizmo are fallback methods that depend on other players or special equipment.
- Progression value: Higher levels reduce the reported dash cooldown, while variants change Cheat Code handling, elimination XP, Loot Hack chances, or elimination-based Sprite finds.

- Epic has not published a confirmed numerical drop rate for the Spooky Dash Sprite.
- Landing spots, chest contents, event objectives, and variant availability may change during Fortnitemares 2026.
