Call response.remoteAddress() on Puppeteer’s HTTPResponse object. It returns an object with the remote server connection’s IP address and port; both fields are optional, so check that they exist before relying on them.

Read the remote address from a response

Use the response object supplied to a page’s response event callback, then call remoteAddress():

page.on('response', response => {
  const { ip, port } = response.remoteAddress();
  console.log({ ip, port });
});

remoteAddress() is synchronous. Puppeteer documents HTTPResponse as representing responses received by a Page. See the Puppeteer HTTPResponse.remoteAddress() API reference.

Handle missing address fields

The returned RemoteAddress has an optional ip string and optional port number. Avoid assuming either is always present; guard or format them accordingly:

page.on('response', response => {
  const address = response.remoteAddress();

  if (address.ip == null || address.port == null) {
    console.log('Remote address is unavailable', address);
    return;
  }

  console.log(`Connected to ${address.ip}:${address.port}`);
});

The optional field types are documented in Puppeteer’s RemoteAddress interface.

What the returned address represents

Puppeteer defines it as the IP address and port used to connect to the remote server. It is not the response URL or a guaranteed origin hostname, and it is not a separate DNS lookup result. In the cited puppeteer-core 24.4.0 implementation, Puppeteer builds the object from Chrome DevTools Protocol response fields remoteIPAddress and remotePort; that implementation detail is version-specific. The API reference does not establish that an address is populated for every cache, service-worker, proxy, or transport scenario, so handle absent values rather than inferring a universal behavior. See the version-specific CDP implementation.

If your goal is to capture a page rather than inspect Puppeteer’s network connection, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API with a one-request interface. For example, with cURL:

Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
