The only official way to earn the Champion Teal Knight outfit for free is to compete in Epic’s Champion Teal Knight FNCS Cup and finish inside the prize cutoff for your region and mode. The event is scheduled for October 18–19, 2026. You do not unlock it with a code, an ordinary Item Shop purchase, or a skin generator.
What you actually have to do
Enter the Champion Teal Knight FNCS Cup from Fortnite’s Compete tab, play the session assigned to your matchmaking region, and earn enough points to finish within the published regional prize places. Epic’s event page describes the main event as Solo Battle Royale; the event rules also provide a separate Zero Build qualifier. The in-game schedule is the final authority for the session available to your account.

Standard sessions last about three hours and allow up to 11 matches. Fortnite uses the event’s in-game scoring system, and only matches that begin before the session closes count toward your leaderboard position.
Step-by-step entry instructions
- Secure your Epic Account. Turn on multi-factor authentication and confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement: at least 13, or the higher minimum age required in your country. A minor also needs a parent or legal guardian to accept the rules and take responsibility for participation.
- Open the tournament. Launch Fortnite, open the Compete tab, and select the Champion Teal Knight FNCS Cup session for your matchmaking region. Epic can change dates, times, or modes, so use the schedule shown in-game rather than relying on an old calendar listing.
- Choose the applicable format. Play the Solo Battle Royale session or the separate Zero Build session shown for your account. Do not assume that a session from another region or mode will count.
- Use the whole window wisely. You have roughly three hours and a maximum of 11 starts in the standard cup. Because late-starting matches do not count, begin your final game before the session timer reaches zero.
- Check your regional rank. The prize goes to the highest point earners up to the cutoff for that region and mode. A high eliminations total in one match is not enough if your final leaderboard position is outside the prize places.
- Keep the account active. Potential winners are contacted at the email address on the competing Epic Account within 60 days after the event. Epic verifies eligibility before awarding the cosmetics, so keep access to the account and its email.

Regional placement cutoffs
Standard Zero Build cup
Epic’s published rules list the following cutoff for the standard Zero Build cup. “Top” means the players with the highest event point totals in that region.
| Region | Prize cutoff |
|---|---|
| OCE | Top 100 |
| ASIA | Top 100 |
| Middle East (ME) | Top 100 |
| Europe (EU) | Top 1,000 |
| Brazil (BR) | Top 200 |
| North America Central (NAC) | Top 700 |
| North America West (NAW) | Top 200 |
These are placement limits, not guaranteed point targets. The score needed to reach them changes with player performance, and the Battle Royale and Zero Build sessions are separate competitions. Check the event rules and your in-game leaderboard for the mode you entered.
Rank #2
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.

- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts

Mobile Cup
Mobile players have separate sessions using Solo and Reload settings. Each session lasts one hour and 15 minutes and permits up to eight matches.
| Region | Prize cutoff |
|---|---|
| OCE | Top 30 |
| ASIA | Top 30 |
| Middle East (ME) | Top 30 |
| Europe (EU) | Top 200 |
| Brazil (BR) | Top 30 |
| North America Central (NAC) | Top 150 |
| North America West (NAW) | Top 30 |
The mobile cup’s shorter timer, eight-match limit, Solo format, and Reload rules make it a different leaderboard from the standard cup. Enter only the mobile session displayed for your device and region.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

Eligibility rules that can prevent a reward
- Multi-factor authentication: MFA must be enabled on the Epic Account before competing.
- Age: You must be at least 13, or meet your country’s higher minimum age. Minors require parent or legal-guardian permission to accept the competition rules.
- Regional restrictions: Turkey and Russia are listed as prize-restricted regions.
- Account verification: A leaderboard position alone does not guarantee the package. Epic may verify eligibility, and a potential winner must remain reachable through the competing account’s email.
- Changing event details: Epic may alter the date, time, or mode. The schedule and format shown in Fortnite when the cup opens control your entry.
Common mistakes to avoid
Looking for a code or Item Shop listing
Epic’s cited event materials tie the free package to tournament placement. They do not provide a normal Item Shop purchase route or a redeemable code for this event. Avoid websites promising generators, unofficial codes, or account sales; those are not part of the official reward process.
Starting the last match too late
A match that starts after the session closes does not count, even if it finishes later. Leave enough time to queue and load into your final game.

Entering the wrong region or mode
Cutoffs are set independently by region and mode. Playing a different session will not move your score onto the leaderboard you intended to enter.
Ignoring the post-event email
Epic says potential winners are notified within 60 days, subject to verification. Keep the account active and monitor its registered email instead of assuming the items appear immediately.

Can you get Teal Knight on mobile?
Yes. The separate Mobile Cup offers the same four-item cosmetic package, with its own Solo Reload sessions, one-hour-15-minute time limit, eight-match maximum, and tighter regional cutoffs listed above. Mobile participation does not use the standard cup’s match cap or timetable.
When is the Champion Teal Knight FNCS Cup?
Epic schedules the event for October 18–19, 2026. Because Epic can revise the timetable, open Fortnite’s Compete tab on those dates and follow the session time displayed for your region. That in-game listing takes precedence over a previously published time.
