The projector’s 1,600 ISO-lumen rating is measured in ideal laboratory conditions, not a guarantee of vivid results in daylight; no picture mode can remove the effect of room light.
Control room light before changing settings
Close curtains or blinds to limit direct daylight and turn off nearby lights that fall on the screen, if practical. Ambient light can make a projected image look less vibrant. XGIMI gives this advice in the manual for the earlier Elfin Flip, so it is general projector guidance rather than a Laser-specific instruction. The Elfin Flip Laser product page does not specify a universal bright-room picture preset.

Choose a moderate image size
Start within XGIMI’s recommended 60–120-inch projection range and try a smaller image if the picture looks washed out. XGIMI says image quality may be affected outside that recommended range; its broader supported range is 40–200 inches. These are manufacturer specifications, not a promise that every size will look equally good in every room.
Align the projector and screen
Position the projector so it points toward the screen with as little side angle as your setup allows. XGIMI says the side throw angle should not exceed 25° for accurate calibration. The projector’s 1.2:1 throw ratio is a placement specification; consult XGIMI’s product information when working out the distance needed for your image size.

- Set the projector on a stable surface and aim it at the screen.
- Run auto focus and auto keystone, then check that the image is sharp and fits the screen.
- Use screen-alignment assistance if the image needs help fitting the screen.
- If automatic correction leaves the image uneven or soft, adjust the projector’s physical position and run the setup aids again.
Automatic keystone can help with framing, but it is not a substitute for good placement. The product page lists autofocus, auto keystone, and screen-alignment assistance; it does not claim those features can compensate for room brightness.
Pick brightness mode with its tradeoffs in mind
XGIMI lists 1,600 ISO lumens of white-light output, measured under ISO 21118 in ideal laboratory conditions in Performance/High Power mode. The manufacturer cautions that actual brightness varies with use conditions. Performance mode is the highest-output option, but it may shift color compared with the default viewing mode and increase fan speed and noise. XGIMI says, “For regular viewing, it is recommended to use other brightness modes.”

Try Performance/High Power when you need the projector’s maximum output, then decide whether the added brightness is worth the possible color and noise changes. For regular viewing, use another brightness mode if its picture and fan noise suit your room better.

XGIMI’s 10,000:1 dynamic-contrast figure is measured in Vivid mode, where brightness adjustment is not supported. That contrast specification does not establish that Vivid is the best mode for a bright room or that it will make the image more visible in daylight.

Set expectations for bright-room viewing
The Elfin Flip Laser has a native resolution of 1920 × 1080, but resolution and a laboratory brightness rating do not determine how vibrant an image will appear under your room’s lighting. Room conditions and the screen surface can affect what you see; the available manufacturer information does not establish a particular screen type or a specific bright-room gain. If the image still looks faded, reducing ambient light or using a smaller projection is a more grounded adjustment than assuming a preset will overcome the room.
