What Smugglers Gambit is—and what it is not
Smugglers Gambit is an in-house Disney Games and Digital Entertainment creation delivered inside Fortnite. It is an island (Fortnite’s term for a playable experience), not a standalone boxed game, separate launcher, or paid Disney download. Disney places the action in the Star Wars galaxy around Mersa Veta Station on Ord Ryla, where your crew works the Outer Rim for the smuggler Hondo Ohnaka.

The project is also tied to the physical attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Disney describes this as the first time that attraction extends beyond its physical ride into a digital Fortnite adventure. The connection is optional: the island’s regular missions, combat, equipment and reputation progression can be started without traveling to a Disney park.

Where you can play and what it costs
Fortnite is free to download on PC, console and mobile devices. Because Smugglers Gambit runs as a Fortnite island, there is no additional game purchase listed for the digital experience. Open Fortnite, find the Disney page, and select Play Now to launch the island.

Disney’s connected park activation launched on August 16, 2026 at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida. The attraction-linked activity is included with valid admission to the relevant theme park; it is not a separate ticketed game purchase. You still need Fortnite and an Epic Games account for the digital portion.

The table’s distinction is important: visiting a park is not a prerequisite for playing the island. It is the route that adds the physical-attraction mission and its eligible ride-linked items.
Accounts you need
An Epic Games account
Fortnite requires an Epic Games account. Sign in to an existing account or create one before launching the island. The same Epic account is where your Fortnite locker and any Smugglers Gambit items are associated, so use the account you intend to keep playing.

A MyDisney account for connected rewards
A MyDisney account is not required merely to enter the home version of Smugglers Gambit. Disney requires the Epic–MyDisney connection for eligible rewards associated with the attraction. Disney says guests can link before riding or afterward. If linking is unavailable for an account, Disney provides a Fortnite redemption code instead.
Park-app access for the physical mission
At Disneyland, use the Disneyland app; near Orlando, use the My Disney Experience app. The special mission is accepted while you are in the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run queue. The app and attraction activity supplement, rather than replace, the Fortnite account setup.

Start Smugglers Gambit from home
- Install or open Fortnite. Download Fortnite on a supported PC, console or mobile device, or launch it if it is already installed.
- Sign in to Epic. Use your Epic Games account, or create one when prompted.
- Open the Fortnite Disney page. Navigate to Disney’s Fortnite listing and locate Smugglers Gambit.
- Select Play Now. This is the official entry point identified for the island. Fortnite then opens the experience.
- Begin the first mission. Follow the island’s in-game objectives to meet the crew, collect objectives for Hondo Ohnaka and learn its co-op loop.
Those steps are enough to play the standard digital experience. You can invite friends for the co-op missions, but the attraction visit and MyDisney connection are separate choices rather than gates in the launch process.
Link Epic and MyDisney accounts
Complete the connection from the Epic account settings. The current Fortnite Disney instructions use this path:

- Open Account.
- Choose Apps and Accounts.
- Find MyDisney Account and select Connect.
- Continue on the MyDisney website and finish its sign-in or authorization prompts.
After a successful connection, eligible rewards should appear in the Fortnite locker. Linking in advance is useful if you plan to ride, because it avoids trying to complete the account step in a busy queue. Disney also allows the connection after the ride, so a missed pre-ride setup does not automatically forfeit the opportunity.
Use the attraction-linked mission in a Disney park
- Bring a Fortnite-ready device and sign in. Have access to the Epic account you use for Smugglers Gambit.
- Enter the correct park. The activation is associated with Disneyland Park in Anaheim and Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, and requires valid admission.
- Open the park’s official app. Use the Disneyland app at Disneyland or My Disney Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- Go to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run queue. Accept the special mission in the app while you are in the queue.
- Ride and complete the activity. Crates collected during the attraction can unlock rewards that carry over into Fortnite.
- Check the locker or redeem the supplied code. If your Epic and MyDisney accounts are linked, look for eligible items in the Fortnite locker. If Disney says linking is unavailable for your account, use the Fortnite redemption code it provides.
The park mission is therefore a location-specific extension of the island, not a replacement for launching Smugglers Gambit in Fortnite. Follow the app’s on-site prompts because the activation is designed to be accepted from inside the queue.
What you do in the game
Run co-op Outer Rim missions
The central loop is cooperative. Team up with friends to take on missions around the Outer Rim and coordinate movement, combat and objectives rather than treating the island as a solo story campaign.

Collect crates for Hondo Ohnaka
Crate collection is one of the named activities. In the regular island, it contributes to the mission structure; during the attraction-linked activation, crates collected on the ride can also be tied to carry-over rewards.
Fight pirates, Imperial remnants and wildlife
Encounters include pirate forces, Imperial remnants and dangerous wildlife. Expect objectives that combine exploration with combat, so a successful run depends on both finding mission items and surviving hostile encounters.
Unlock gear and build reputation
Completing missions unlocks gear and raises your reputation across the Outer Rim. That progression gives repeated sessions a purpose beyond finishing a single objective: missions improve what your character can use while expanding your standing in the setting.
How the two reward paths differ
Standard island rewards come from playing Smugglers Gambit and advancing its missions, gear and reputation systems. Ride-linked rewards are a separate eligibility track connected to the physical attraction. They depend on completing the park activity and handling the Epic–MyDisney account connection (or using Disney’s alternative redemption code when linking is unavailable).
Do not assume that simply visiting a park grants every item automatically. The relevant queue mission must be accepted, and the reward claim still needs to resolve to the Epic account you play on. Once connected, check the Fortnite locker rather than looking for a separate Disney inventory.

Practical setup checklist
- Fortnite is installed and launches on your PC, console or mobile device.
- You can sign in to the intended Epic Games account.
- You know whether you are playing only at home or also using the attraction activation.
- If visiting a park, you have valid admission and the correct official park app.
- Your Epic account is linked to MyDisney before the ride when possible.
- You know where to find Account → Apps and Accounts → MyDisney Account → Connect.
- After the activity, you have checked the Fortnite locker or located the redemption code supplied when linking is unavailable.
Troubleshooting the first launch
The island does not appear
Confirm that Fortnite is open under the Epic account you intend to use, then return to the Fortnite Disney page and look specifically for the Play Now entry. Smugglers Gambit is an island inside Fortnite, so searching for a separate executable or a standalone Disney title will not find it.
You are unsure whether a park visit is required
It is not required for the home island. The park requirement applies only to the attraction-linked mission at the two participating locations. Start the digital island from Fortnite first if you want to learn the basic loop before deciding whether to use the physical activation.
The MyDisney connection is missing
Use the Epic account website path rather than looking for the option inside a mission: Account, then Apps and Accounts, then Connect beside MyDisney Account. Continue through MyDisney’s sign-in flow. If Disney identifies your account as unable to link, follow the redemption-code instructions instead.
A reward is not visible
First verify that you are signed into the same Epic account used for the activity. For a linked account, inspect the Fortnite locker after completing the ride mission. For an account that could not be linked, use the Fortnite redemption code supplied by Disney. Keep the code’s delivery message available until the item is redeemed.

Open the correct regional park app while physically in the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run queue. Disneyland guests use the Disneyland app; guests at the Florida park use My Disney Experience. The activation is tied to the queue location and valid park admission, not to a home session.

Choosing the best way to begin
Choose the home route when you want immediate access
The home route is the straightforward option if you want to play now, test the co-op missions or progress without travel. It needs Fortnite and Epic authentication, and it delivers the island’s main gameplay systems without requiring a park ticket.
Choose the park route when you are already visiting
The attraction route makes sense for guests with a planned Disneyland or Disney’s Hollywood Studios visit who want the crossover with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Set up the Epic–MyDisney link before entering the queue when possible, then use the app mission and check the locker afterward.
Use both routes for the complete crossover
You can begin at home, learn the island and then add the ride-linked mission on a later visit. Conversely, a park guest can complete the attraction activity and continue the resulting progression from any place where Fortnite is available. The account link is the continuity mechanism between the physical activation and your Fortnite locker.
What to expect on your first session
Your first session is best treated as a guided introduction to the island’s loop: assemble a crew, accept an Outer Rim objective, search for crates or other mission targets, fight the threats protecting them, and return with progress toward gear and reputation. Because Disney frames the experience as co-op, communication with friends is useful when one player is exploring while others handle combat.
The setting supplies the connective tissue. Hondo Ohnaka’s crate jobs, pirate and Imperial-remnant conflicts, wildlife hazards and reputation progression all sit within the same Star Wars location rather than separate modes that require different downloads. The attraction mission adds a physical-world objective and possible carry-over items; it does not replace those core systems.
