Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection on Nintendo Switch 2 includes the base game, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. To begin, download it from your local Nintendo eShop, make room for a large download, connect to the internet and sign in to a Battle.net account. Nintendo Switch Online is needed for cross-play with players on other platforms, but Blizzard says it is not required for cross-progression or several other modes.
What is included, and where can you get it?

The US launch announcement stated a regular price of $69.99; that is a dated US price, not a promise of the current price or the price in other regions. The collection description on Nintendo UK lists 14 character slots and seven stash tabs.

Do you need Nintendo Switch Online?
It depends on how you want to play. Blizzard says an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for cross-play with players on other platforms. Its Switch 2 FAQ says the membership is not required for cross-progression or for the following activities:
- Campaign, side quests and open-world activities
- Couch co-op
- The Tower and Leaderboards
- Seasonal ranks and content
Without Nintendo Switch Online, Blizzard says you cannot join online parties, trade, join a Clan, take part in PvP or encounter other players in the open world. An internet connection is still required. Blizzard’s Switch 2 FAQ.

Can you continue a character from another platform?
Yes, Blizzard says cross-progression lets you access progress on supported platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. Cross-progression is distinct from cross-play: Blizzard says you do not need Nintendo Switch Online for the former, but do need it to play with people on other platforms.
Blizzard’s FAQ also says cosmetics and Reliquary Battle Pass purchases and rewards carry across linked platforms. Platinum earned through gameplay carries over; Platinum purchased on Switch 2 remains limited to Switch 2. The FAQ does not fully detail all platform-license or content-entitlement restrictions, so do not assume that owning the game or an expansion on one platform automatically grants access on another. Choose a display mode and way to play
Blizzard publishes two graphics modes for Switch 2. These are vendor-stated specifications, not independent performance-test results.
| Mode | Handheld | Docked | Requirement or trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quality | 30 fps at 1080p | 30 fps at 1440p | Higher stated resolution when docked; lower stated frame rate than Performance Mode. |
| Performance | 40 fps at 1080p | 40 fps at 1080p | Docked play requires a display compatible with 120 Hz or higher. |
Nintendo lists handheld, tabletop and TV play. It lists one to two local players and one to four online players; each multiplayer player needs a compatible controller. Blizzard says most menus, the map and inventory support touchscreen input. USB mouse and keyboard, rumble, chat accessibility features and GameChat are also listed as supported. Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality is not supported. Nintendo UK listing; Blizzard’s Switch 2 FAQ.
