The fastest reliable way to earn more free Black Cards (BC) in Punishing: Gray Raven is to unlock the mission systems, claim daily rewards, and finish weekly activities such as War Zone and Phantom Pain Cage. Then collect available story, first-clear, achievement, and event rewards. Some routes repeat; story clears and many event rewards do not.
What should you do first to earn BC?
- Advance the main story. A community beginner guide lists daily missions after Normal 1-10 and War Zone after Normal 4-8. It lists Phantom Pain Cage at Commandant level 35 and Normal 5-7; access requirements can depend on the game’s current setup. See the community Beginner’s Guide.
- Claim the daily rewards. Once daily missions are available, complete the tasks and collect their rewards from the mission interface. A 2026 third-party guide estimates about 30 BC per day from daily tasks; that is an estimate, not a Kuro Games guarantee. See PityCalculator.com.
- Finish weekly missions. Complete the activities your account has unlocked, including War Zone and Phantom Pain Cage where applicable. The same third-party guide estimates about 1,000 BC per week from those two modes together. Your actual rewards may differ with account progress and the current reward configuration.
- Check story and event panels. Claim available first-clear, story, achievement, login, and event rewards. These can be useful additions, but one-time clears are not recurring income and event rewards change.

For current Global versions, don’t assume older reward totals still apply. Kuro Games’ 2024 Global version integration announcement, reproduced on r/PunishingGrayRaven, says: “The rewards will scale with the number of integrated versions.” It also describes adjustments to permanent-mode rewards and says some version-specific events can be adjusted or replaced with missions.

How much free BC can you expect?
PityCalculator.com estimates that an active free-to-play player may earn roughly 5,200–6,700 BC per month in 2026, equivalent in that guide to about 21–27 pulls at 250 BC per pull. Treat those figures as an estimate, not guaranteed monthly income: progress, one-time rewards, event schedules, and the current patch’s reward setup can change an account’s total. No official itemized Kuro Games total for all BC available in the current Global patch is established here.

How can you avoid miscounting recruitment rewards?
- Track Black Cards separately. BC is not the same thing as Event Construct R&D Tickets or other recruitment tickets. A ticket may provide a pull, but it is not BC and should not be added to a BC total.
- Separate repeatable rewards from cleared content. Daily and weekly missions recur; a story first-clear reward does not become recurring income after you claim it.
- Check the banner rules before spending. Save BC for the banner you intend to use it on. Banner eligibility and currency rules are version-specific, so verify them in the game client rather than assuming every reward works on every banner.
