On a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, open Nintendo Switch Online from the HOME Menu, choose the user account that should receive the icon elements, and check Missions & Rewards. If Majora’s Mask elements are listed for that account, redeem them with My Nintendo Platinum Points, assemble an icon in Icon Collection, then select it there to use it as your profile icon. The catalog rotates, so the live console list—not an older guide—is the availability check.
Check whether Majora’s Mask icons are available
- Connect your Switch or Switch 2 to the internet and install any available system update.
- From the HOME Menu, open Nintendo Switch Online, then choose the user account that should receive the elements.
- Select Missions & Rewards and scroll through the games in the catalog. If Majora’s Mask elements are not listed, they are not currently offered to that account in the catalog you can access.
Nintendo says icon elements refresh weekly, while themes change monthly. Its overview also describes classic-game missions that can unlock retro elements and the return of select previously released elements through play missions. That rotation means an older listing does not confirm current availability. Nintendo’s instructions also note that some items have additional eligibility requirements; check the element details shown in the console.

Nintendo’s current general instructions do not establish whether a specific Majora’s Mask set is available on October 4, 2026, in every region, or under every membership tier. Nintendo Life’s September 17, 2026 guide is a recent broader catalog snapshot, not confirmation of this set’s status on October 4. A Reddit discussion dated October 4 is community evidence, not official confirmation. Use the console catalog and its item details for the account you intend to use.

If Majora’s Mask items appear, select each element you want and redeem it with My Nintendo Platinum Points. Follow any requirements displayed for that item. Nintendo says some elements may require playing the relevant game while the items are available, or playing it on at least three separate days in the previous 30 days; those are possible conditions for certain items, not confirmed requirements for this set.

Nintendo Support’s general instructions require an internet-connected Switch or Switch 2 and an active paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to use Missions & Rewards. Some elements may additionally require an active paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The exact conditions for a Majora’s Mask offer are not established here, so rely on the live item details rather than assuming a tier or play requirement.
Build and set the custom profile icon
- In Nintendo Switch Online, open Icon Collection at the top right.
- Choose the icons or icon-elements view, then select the Majora’s Mask elements you redeemed.
- Choose a character, background, and frame, then create and save the icon. Game elements can be combined with elements from the same game or with generic backgrounds and frames; elements from different games cannot be freely mixed.
- Select the finished icon in Icon Collection to set it as the user’s profile icon.
This custom icon is managed in the Nintendo Switch Online application, not through the regular System Settings icon selector or the web User Page. Nintendo associates created icons with the Nintendo Account, and they appear on consoles linked to that account. Redeemed elements cannot be shared with another Nintendo Account.

What happens to collected icons if membership ends?
Nintendo says an element already added to Icon Collection remains accessible even if the account no longer has an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The collection can save up to 100 user icons.
