At Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), the best way into Beijing depends on where you are staying. The Capital Airport Express offers a predictable rail link into the subway network; airport buses serve specific destinations; taxis and ride-hailing provide door-to-door trips. This guide is for PEK, not Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), which has different transport connections.
Choose the route that fits your destination

Beijing’s official PEK transport guide lists online car-hailing, airport buses and the Airport Express among the available choices. No single option is best for every hotel: compare the route to your actual address, including any subway transfer or final walk.

Take the Capital Airport Express
The Capital Airport Express connects PEK with Sanyuanqiao, Dongzhimen and Beixinqiao, where you can transfer to the city subway. Beijing’s official fare notice states a fixed fare of CNY 25 per ride; onward travel on the rest of the subway network is charged separately under the regular subway fare system. Find the station and check service hours
The Visit Beijing guide lists the Airport Express entrance in the T2 parking building at level -2 and in the T3 parking building at level 2. It gives published service windows of 06:36–23:10 for T2 and 06:22–22:52 for T3. These are listed hours, not a guarantee of live service on your travel date; check current information before relying on a late or early train. Follow airport signs to the station.

The line is not a direct ride to every central hotel. At Sanyuanqiao, Dongzhimen or Beixinqiao, you may need to change to another subway line and then walk or arrange onward transport. The airport guide lists connections to Line 10 at Sanyuanqiao, Lines 2 and 13 at Dongzhimen, and Line 5 at Beixinqiao. Check the route from the station nearest your destination rather than assuming “city center” is one stop.
Use an airport bus when a current route serves your destination
Airport buses run from PEK to named destinations around Beijing, but route details are time-sensitive. A government update dated March 30, 2026 reported multiple route changes effective April 7, 2026. Before setting out, check the current route, stop, departure and fare for your destination through the government’s airport bus update and the Airport Bus Official Platform mini-program or airport ticket counters.

The official PEK guide says bus and Airport Express tickets can be purchased with valid ID at self-service machines at the Beijing Service airport counter. Ticket availability and purchase arrangements may vary, so check the current instructions when you arrive.

Take a taxi or arrange a ride-hailing car
Taxi
A taxi can take you directly to your address, but the trip is affected by traffic, including rush-hour congestion. There is no dependable universal fare or journey time for every Beijing destination; the amount and duration depend on your route and conditions when you travel. Use the official taxi queue and confirm the destination with the driver.

Online car-hailing pickup points
Beijing’s airport guidance lists different pickup areas by terminal: at T2, the southeast side of the first floor of the T2 Parking Building; at T3, Area H on B2 of the T3 Parking Building. After landing, follow current airport signs and your app’s pickup directions, since airport arrangements can change. Allow time to reach the parking building and match the vehicle before leaving.

- Look up your hotel or final address, not just “downtown.” Compare the door-to-door route, including transfers and the last leg from a rail station or bus stop.
- If you plan to take the Airport Express, check the current operating hours for your terminal and allow for separately charged subway travel beyond the airport line.
- If you plan to take a bus, verify the current route and stop for your destination; route names and service details can change.
- If you plan to use a car, account for traffic and check the terminal-specific pickup location once at the airport.
