How to improve armor

Enhance the slot for fixed-stat growth
Enhancement raises armor’s fixed stats. The guide describes additional group bonuses at +5 breakthrough milestones, with Gold and Enhancement Modules required for enhancement and Superior Modules used at breakthrough levels. Your character level limits how far you can enhance gear.

Do not dismantle the currently enhanced piece before replacing it; confirm the replacement is equipped and the enhancement remains applied.

Fuse only pieces worth keeping
Fusion—also called advancement in some references—increases a piece’s stars and improves one random bonus stat per star. Rarity determines the star ceiling. Inspect the random stat lines and their values before investing heavily, because the guide says fused stars do not fully transfer to a replacement piece.
When choosing between armor pieces, weigh their fixed stats, random-stat lines and values, rarity, enhancement milestone, fusion investment, and fit with your build. A higher star count alone does not establish that a piece is better for your character.

How to improve matrices
Matrices are weapon attachments with four slots on each weapon. They provide passive stats, and set effects generally apply while you use the weapon holding them. Leveling improves a matrix’s stats, while matrix stars strengthen set-effect values. Matrices
Build around your weapons and set effects
Start by filling the four compatible slots on the weapons you use. Prefer pieces whose set effects support your build over a mismatched set chosen only for rarity or star level. Compare slot compatibility, the effect’s relevance, weapon assignment, passive stats, and the resources needed to level or advance each piece.

There is no established universal best set or current damage ranking in the cited references. The right choice depends on your weapons, element, play mode, and inventory, so avoid spending limited resources on a set just because it is presented as best for everyone.
Use the sources shown in your current client
General reference pages list gacha banners, Joint Operations, world bosses, a home-island shop, and Void Rifts as matrix sources. These are broad routes, not confirmation that every activity still has the same reward in version 6.3. Open the reward preview for the activity or shop you plan to use before committing resources. Choose upgrades without wasting resources
- Set your build first. Identify the weapons you actually equip and decide which matrix set effects support them.
- Check armor stats before fusion. Compare random-stat lines and values, rarity, and build fit; fusion stars do not fully transfer to replacement armor.
- Enhance armor slots deliberately. Enhancement raises fixed stats and can add group bonuses at +5 milestones. Keep track of the currently enhanced item so it is not dismantled by mistake.
- Preview rewards before farming. Use the live in-game reward preview for dungeons, shops, bosses, Joint Operations, Void Rifts, and banners because general guides may not reflect the current reward table.
- Concentrate matrix EXP and duplicates. Spend them on pieces that improve the set and weapons you are using, rather than spreading upgrades across pieces with no role in your build.
For a free-to-play approach, focus on a coherent weapon core and preserve upgrade resources for pieces that clearly improve it. A community guide offers this general resource advice, but its equipment section is marked incomplete and its level-50 Joint Operations 06 drop statement is historical, not a current guarantee. What changed in the permanent matrix order
The official version 6.3 announcement, published September 10, 2026, said Gray Fox Matrices would be added to the permanent Choice Matrices special order after the update scheduled for September 15, 2026, 06:00–11:00 UTC. The version 6.2 announcement, published July 30, 2026, similarly said Asurada Matrices would enter that order after its August 4, 2026 update, scheduled for 06:00–10:00 UTC.
