To get a Sudanese IP address while abroad, connect through a VPN or proxy that currently offers a Sudan exit route, then confirm that the resulting public IP is identified as Sudanese and that the website you need accepts it. A generic VPN app or VPN-capable router cannot create that route on its own. Provider availability can change, and advertised Sudan options have not been independently tested here.
What a Sudanese IP address can—and cannot—do
A VPN routes your device’s internet traffic through a provider’s server and gives websites the server’s public IP address rather than your usual one. For a Sudanese IP, the provider must offer a route whose address is registered or geolocated as Sudan. A proxy may also change the apparent IP for traffic configured to use it, but the same verification questions apply.

This can help when you have an internet connection but a site or service is unavailable on your usual route. It cannot restore service during a complete internet blackout, and a VPN may itself fail if VPN traffic is blocked.

Physical and virtual Sudan locations are different
A provider’s Sudan location does not necessarily mean its server hardware is physically in Sudan. With a virtual location, the assigned IP is registered to the selected country while the server is physically elsewhere. ExpressVPN explains that the registered IP corresponds to the chosen country even when the server is in another, typically nearby, country (ExpressVPN’s explanation of virtual server locations).

What matters for your purpose is whether the public IP is recognized as Sudanese by the relevant service. IP lookup databases can disagree: an IP2Location database, for example, classifies the example address 197.252.192.0 as Sudan, Khartoum, and Sudatel, but that single listing does not predict how another database or website will classify a VPN address.
Which providers currently advertise Sudan routes?
Official location lists reviewed for NordVPN and ExpressVPN did not list Sudan. CometVPN, TCPVPN, and BearVPN advertise Sudan IP or server options on their own pages; those are provider claims, not independently verified connections. Availability may change, so check the live list before subscribing.

These findings describe the pages reviewed, not a guarantee about a provider’s current catalog. A large network or nearby physical server is not a substitute for an explicitly available Sudan-registered IP. No comparative speed, uptime, privacy audit, price, or successful Sudan-IP test is established by these provider pages.

How to get and verify a Sudanese IP
- Confirm what you need. If you need a Sudan-associated public IP while abroad, look for a VPN or proxy that explicitly offers a Sudan exit route. If you are offline because of a complete outage, changing routes will not bring the internet connection back.
- Check the current location list before paying. Confirm that Sudan is selectable, or ask the provider whether it supplies a Sudan-registered IP. A server merely described as nearby is not the same thing. Review the provider’s platform support, privacy policy, refund terms, and renewal price as well.
- Install and connect using the provider’s instructions. Sign in to its app or configure a supported client, then choose Sudan only if that location is actually available. The exact setup varies by provider and device.
- Check the public IP and reported country. While connected, use an IP lookup service and confirm that it reports Sudan. A lookup result shows how that database classifies the address; it does not guarantee every website will agree.
- Test the service you intend to use. Open the target site or app. It may use another geolocation database, block VPN or proxy address ranges, or apply account and other location checks.
- If the connection fails, use only documented options that are available to you. A provider may suggest a different protocol or an obfuscation setting. NordVPN’s general guidance for restricted networks mentions NordWhisper, obfuscated servers, or OpenVPN TCP for some blocked connections; this does not show that any of them works in Sudan at the time you need it.
What to check before subscribing
- Sudan appears as a selectable location now, and the provider confirms that the route supplies an IP registered to Sudan.
- The app or supported configuration works on your device and operating system.
- The provider explains its logging and privacy practices clearly enough for your needs.
- You understand the current price, renewal terms, and refund conditions.
- You can test the connection and confirm the country classification before relying on it for a time-sensitive task.
Provider advertising is not proof of a working route or of suitable privacy practices. The unresolved practical question is whether a particular advertised option works from your country, on your device, and with your target website; that requires current, situation-specific verification.
