To get a Nergigante egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, search Rare Monster Dens in Terga, especially around Terga Volcano Base or Torga Volcano. A Rare Den does not guarantee a Nergigante egg, so check the nest and repeat the search if needed. The locations and route come from third-party guides, not Capcom’s official manual.
Where to look for a Nergigante egg
GameSkinny’s July 8, 2021 guide places Nergigante eggs in Rare Dens around Terga Volcano Base: GameSkinny’s Nergigante egg guide. Gameranx’s December 15, 2021 guide recommends Rare Dens around Torga Volcano: Gameranx’s early Nergigante guide. These are search areas, not guaranteed spawn points.

Can you get Nergigante before beating the game?
Gameranx describes an earlier attempt once you reach Terga and have Kinship Stone Level 7, after the first Nergigante encounter. Its route is to search Torga Volcano Rare Dens. This is a guide-reported progression condition; it does not mean an egg will appear on the first visit.

- In Terga, use the Nest Search Kinship Skill to help locate nearby dens and their nests, as Gameranx recommends.
- Enter a Rare Den and inspect the nest. Finding a Rare Den alone does not mean it contains a Nergigante egg.
- If the local den layout has no Rare Den, use the guide’s suggested layout reset and check again. Repeat as necessary; neither a Rare Den nor the target egg is guaranteed on any given attempt.
The guides describe the egg’s appearance differently: GameSkinny calls it orange and black with a star pattern, while Gameranx describes a black egg with red stars. Treat those descriptions as clues, not a definitive identification; inspect the eggs available in the nest rather than relying on color alone. Neither guide establishes a Nergigante egg spawn percentage.

Choose an egg and get it back safely
Capcom’s official Monster Hunter Stories 2 manual explains that eggs are found in nests inside Monster Dens. You can exchange eggs while options remain in the nest. Once you carry an egg out, it is yours, but carrying it slows your movement. If contact with a monster starts a battle and you lose, you lose the egg. Choose the egg you want before leaving, then take it to a Stable to hatch it; see Capcom’s manual section on hatching.
Egg weight and smell are general odds clues, not a way to confirm the species: Capcom says heavier eggs increase the probability of a strong monster, and stronger smell increases the probability of rare genes. Neither guarantees a particular monster or genes.
