| Provider | What the cited source recommends or reports | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| ExpressVPN | Top10VPN named it its overall Mexico pick in its September 2026 review and reported 50 servers in Mexico City. The review said it worked well with several Mexican services. | Top10VPN found it less consistent than NordVPN for Netflix Mexico. ExpressVPN’s Mexico page describes Mexico City servers and says connecting there provides a Mexican IP. Top10VPN, September 2026; ExpressVPN Mexico page |
| NordVPN | Top10VPN said it was the strongest of the options it tested for Netflix Mexico and reported 30 Mexico City servers. Security.org recommended it overall and listed 30 Mexico servers in its August 25, 2026 guide. | Those counts are dated reviewer snapshots; sources may count locations or servers differently. Top10VPN also describes Meshnet for connecting to a device or network back home. Top10VPN, September 2026; Security.org, August 25, 2026 |
| Proton VPN | Security.org named it its Mexico privacy choice, citing open-source apps, audited no-logs claims, and Secure Core. Proton says its network includes over 30 servers in Mexico and over 20,000 globally. | The server figures are claims on Proton’s own page, accessed October 7, 2026; the page gives no publication year. Proton describes OpenVPN and WireGuard and says router setup can protect devices connected to Wi-Fi. Proton VPN server page; Security.org, August 25, 2026 |
| PrivadoVPN | Top10VPN listed it as a free VPN option with Mexican IPs. | The cited information does not establish the current free-plan limits, availability, or suitability for your needs. Check its current plan terms before relying on it. Top10VPN, September 2026 |
If you are choosing for a particular Mexican streaming service, prioritize a recent test of that exact service rather than a general “best” label. If privacy matters more, examine the provider’s privacy policy, audit evidence, protocols, and leak protections. Also check app support for your devices, simultaneous-connection limits, and current subscription and refund terms. The cited reviews do not establish a consistent current price comparison.

Get a Mexican IP address with a VPN
- Confirm Mexico is available. Check the provider’s current app and plan for a selectable Mexico location.
- Install the app and sign in. Use the app for the device on which you need the Mexican IP.
- Select Mexico and connect. Proton’s instructions say to select Mexico from the map or country list; ExpressVPN describes connecting to its Mexico City server. Proton VPN instructions; ExpressVPN Mexico page
- Check the result if a site still shows your old location. Confirm the apparent IP with a reputable IP lookup. If it appears to be in Mexico but a service still does not work, the service may be detecting or blocking the VPN connection. Cached location data can also affect what a site displays; clearing cookies is not always necessary.
What a VPN does—and what it cannot do
A VPN encrypts traffic between your device and the VPN endpoint and masks your regular IP address from destination sites. The VPN provider becomes an intermediary, so the service does not make you anonymous: review its privacy policy and independent audit evidence rather than relying on the word “VPN” alone.

On public Wi-Fi, a VPN can protect traffic along the network path to the VPN endpoint. It does not by itself stop phishing, malware, account compromise, or all forms of tracking. ExpressVPN describes public-Wi-Fi protection, audited no-logs claims, apps for major platforms, and a money-back guarantee on its own Mexico page; these are provider claims, so check the page and current terms before relying on them. Why streaming access can change
A Mexican IP may help you reach a service or catalog that checks location, but it does not guarantee access. Streaming platforms can identify and block VPN IP addresses, and access can differ by platform, server, and time.

Security.org’s August 25, 2026 guide also describes testing across servers and platforms. Treat both as dated findings, not promises about what will work today. Top10VPN, September 2026; Security.org, August 25, 2026
If you are in Mexico, you may want a different VPN location
If your goal is to secure traffic while physically in Mexico, you do not necessarily need a Mexican server. A VPN can encrypt the connection to its endpoint; choose the endpoint based on the service or location you need. If you specifically need a Mexican IP while in Mexico, connect to a Mexico server, but check whether the service you are using accepts VPN connections.
