For NHL scores, schedules, and goalie stats on a phone, start with the official NHL app or NHL.com. Use GameCenter for a live game, the schedule for upcoming matchups and past results, and a game box score or player statistics page for goalie performance. Turn on alerts if you want updates without repeatedly opening the app.
Choose the phone route that fits how you follow hockey

If you want one starting point for both league-wide coverage and individual player pages, use the NHL app. Choose a team app when its team-specific alerts or tools matter more; use NHL.com when you want to browse games by date.

Follow a live game in GameCenter
- Open the NHL app or NHL.com on your phone and select the game in progress. In the app, choose the relevant GameCenter listing; on the site, open the game’s GameCenter link.
- Check the score and the displayed period and game time to confirm you are following the correct live game.
- Use the play-by-play for events as they happen, then open the game’s box score when you want player or team statistics.
The NHL app feature page describes up-to-the-minute scores, play-by-play, and in-game highlights and stories in GameCenter. It also describes player pages with Last Game/Next Game information and EDGE Advanced Stats. Treat available features as platform- and version-dependent rather than assuming every phone displays an identical interface.

Open the NHL schedule on NHL.com for a date-based list of matchups. Select the date you care about, then open a game to reach its GameCenter coverage. Completed listings can show the result and winning goalie; for example, the September 19, 2026 schedule page included preseason results and winning-goalie details. Because schedules change, use the current page rather than relying on a saved slate.

- For a future game, verify the displayed date and time zone before adding it to your plans.
- For a finished game, open its listing or GameCenter to get from the result to the box score.
- Some team apps also list schedules; the Buffalo Sabres app, for example, advertises adding games to a calendar. Calendar and schedule functions are team-app-specific.
Look up goalie performance
There are two useful starting points, depending on your question:
- One game’s goalie performance: open that game’s box score and find the goalie section. This is the direct route for checking a goalie’s line in a particular game.
- A player’s statistics: open the goalie’s player page or statistics view, then confirm the selected season and player before interpreting the figures.
Available fields and their placement can differ across pages, app versions, and views. Check the labels shown in the current box score or statistics page rather than assuming a fixed set of goalie measures or comparing figures from different seasons.

Turn on useful score and game alerts
If you prefer a notification to repeatedly checking the score, look in the NHL app’s notification or team-preference settings and enable the alerts you want. NHL’s FAQ lists game-start, goal, and period-summary alerts. Choose a favorite team if the app offers that option, and review your phone’s notification permissions if alerts do not appear.
The NHL feature page also advertises live lock-screen updates for Android users and says the listed new features require NHL App v17.0 or later. Availability depends on the phone platform and app version; the NHL FAQ’s alert categories do not guarantee identical controls on every device.

Scores are not the same as live video
GameCenter score tracking and live game viewing are separate. If you want video, check the NHL’s current How to Watch information or local broadcast details for your location. An NHL FAQ describes out-of-market live viewing as subject to blackouts and other restrictions, so do not assume a game can be streamed live everywhere or that an older product name or terms remain current.
