Open a live match page in a cricket app or your phone’s browser, then use the scorecard and ball-by-ball commentary together. Cricbuzz offers both app and mobile-browser access, while the ESPNcricinfo app listing describes live scores, commentary and match notifications. Check that the service carries your particular match; broad competition listings do not guarantee coverage in every region.
Choose an app or a mobile browser
A dedicated app is optional. Cricbuzz lists Android and iPhone apps as well as a mobile-browser route, so you can use a browser if you would rather not install an app. Its official mobile-app page describes fast score updates and smart alerts, but those are the service’s own feature descriptions, not an independent measurement of speed.

The ESPNcricinfo app’s Google Play listing describes live scores, ball-by-ball commentary and match notifications. Store listings and app interfaces can change, and the cited information does not establish that every match appears in every location.

- Open your chosen cricket app or mobile site and look for its live match list or match centre.
- Select the match you want to follow. If it is not listed, check the other service or the competition’s official channels; the services’ broad coverage descriptions are not a complete availability guide.
- Read the scorecard for the current total, wickets and innings context, then use ball-by-ball commentary for the sequence of deliveries and the events behind the score.
- Refresh or reopen the match page if updates appear to have stopped. The cited service descriptions do not specify a guaranteed delivery time, so do not treat a text feed as instantaneous.
The exact labels and layout may change. Cricbuzz describes live scores and ball-by-ball coverage across international matches and leagues, and ESPNcricinfo’s listing describes similar features across several international and domestic competitions.

Use notifications if you do not want to keep checking
Cricbuzz describes smart alerts, and the ESPNcricinfo app listing describes match notifications. If you want alerts, look in the service for a match-follow or notification option and allow notifications in your phone’s settings when prompted. The cited pages do not document every current setup step, so labels and controls may differ by app version and device.
Notifications can help you keep up without leaving the match page open, but they are not a substitute for checking the feed when you need the latest available detail. Neither service description establishes a guaranteed alert time.

Check coverage, language and video availability
- Competition: Confirm that the exact fixture appears in the service you use. Both services describe broad coverage, but neither cited source provides a complete, country-by-country match list.
- Language: Cricbuzz lists Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali app options. Check your device’s app store and region for availability.
- Text or video: You do not need video to follow the score and commentary. Cricbuzz says streaming is available in select geographies and describes more than 250 days of top-flight live cricket each year in those geographies; this company statement does not establish current rights or availability for a particular event where you live. See its About Us page and check local availability.
What the available information does—and does not—show
The service pages describe useful features, but they do not compare update speed or accuracy. There is no basis here to rank one app as faster or more reliable. Choose based on whether it lists your match, offers an access method and language that suit you, and provides alerts if you want them.
The ICC’s app announcements are historical, not evidence of current app features. Its 3 May 2017 announcement described a live match centre with ball-by-ball updates and commentary for that season’s ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup. That dated statement does not guarantee the same features in a current ICC app.
