- Try one of the two official redemption routes: the in-game menu or the official redemption webpage.
- Enter the code exactly as published, preserving capitalization and checking look-alike characters such as zero (0) and capital O.
- Confirm that the selected server and character are the ones that should receive the reward.
- Check the original official announcement for that code’s expiry time.
- If the message says the code was already used, verify whether the same account claimed it previously.
- If the code still appears valid, save the exact error and contact HoYoverse Support with the code and a screenshot or video.
There is no published official statistic showing how often each error occurs, so a supposed “most common” percentage or guaranteed fix would be misleading.

Unlock redemption before troubleshooting a code
ZZZ does not make code redemption available immediately. The official help guidance requires completion of the Prologue mission “Business x Strangeness x Justness.” If the Redemption Code option is absent or unavailable, finish that mission on the account that is meant to receive the reward, then reopen the menu or redemption page.
What to verify
- You are signed in to the intended HoYoverse account, not a different account on the same device.
- The Prologue requirement was completed on that account’s game progress.
- You are attempting redemption after the mission has actually been recorded as complete, rather than immediately after starting it.
Once the feature is unlocked, continue with the code and server checks rather than creating another account. A second account will have separate progress and separate redemption history.
Use one of the two official redemption routes
HoYoverse documents both an in-game route and a web route. The reviewed official material does not establish that either route is generally more reliable; the important issue is using the correct account and intended character/server.

Website sign-in mistakes
A browser can retain a session for the wrong HoYoverse account. Sign out, sign back in to the account with the intended ZZZ progress, and check the character/server shown by the page before entering the code. Do not assume that an account used for another HoYoverse title is automatically the account you want here.
If the page asks you to choose a server, pause before pressing submit. The account login and the game character are related but not interchangeable selections: the reward must be directed to the character whose progress you intend to use. If the page shows no eligible character, confirm that you completed the Prologue on that account and that you selected the correct game region.
Interpret the exact error message
“Invalid,” “already used,” “expired,” and a successful submission with no visible reward point to different checks. Record the wording before retrying repeatedly; support can use the exact message and time to locate the transaction.
“Invalid code” or a similar message
First confirm that the code came from an official announcement or channel and that its deadline has not passed. Then re-enter it manually or compare every character with the original notice. Codes are case-sensitive in practice, and characters such as 0/O, 1/I, or similar-looking letters can be misread when copied from an image or video.
Finally, verify the selected server against the promotion’s stated eligibility. A server mismatch can make a code appear invalid, but it is only one possible cause. Do not treat changing servers as a universal solution.
“Code already used”
HoYoverse states that each code can be redeemed only once per account. Check the account’s redemption history mentally: another person using the same login, a previous attempt on the website, or an earlier successful claim may have consumed the code.

If you are certain the reward was never received, do not keep submitting the same code. Save the code, the account information requested by support, and the error evidence so HoYoverse can check its redemption records.
Trying the same code through the other official route will not create a second entitlement. In-game and website redemption are routes to the same account record, not separate allowances. If an earlier attempt may have succeeded, treat the “already used” response as a reason to verify delivery and request a record check rather than as proof that the code was invalid.
“Expired code”
Expiration is set by each promotion, not by one universal ZZZ rule. Find the original official announcement and read its stated date, time, and time zone. An undated list on a third-party page is not evidence that a code is still active.
For example, the Version 3.3 Special Program announcement dated October 9, 2026 gave its code an expiry of October 11, 2026 at 23:59:59 (UTC+8). That was the deadline for that promotion only; it does not establish a standard two-day, seven-day, or any other validity period for future codes. Because the current date is October 16, 2026, that particular deadline has passed.
When converting a deadline, retain the source time zone first. A code that appears to expire on a different calendar day in your location may still be valid until the stated UTC+8 time, or may already be closed if you converted it incorrectly. If the official notice gives no continuing validity, do not infer one from when another player used the code.
Check servers and independent game data
The official launch FAQ lists four server selections: Americas, Asia, Europe, and Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau. It also says data between servers is independent. A character and its progress on one server are not automatically shared with another.
Before submitting a web redemption
- Identify the server where the character that should receive the reward was created.
- Select that server in the redemption interface.
- Confirm the character name or other account identifier shown by the interface.
- Only then submit the code.
If you redeemed on the wrong server, switching to the intended server does not prove that the same code can be redeemed again. Because one-use rules apply per account, contact support and explain the mistaken server selection rather than repeatedly submitting the code.
When server selection is not the cause
A correct server will not revive an expired promotion, repair a typo, or reset a code already used on the account. Check all of those conditions before concluding that the server system is malfunctioning.
Server independence also explains why progress seen after changing regions may look missing. It does not necessarily indicate that the account was deleted or that the code failed. Return to the server that holds the intended character, and use the same account credentials there. If the reward was sent to a different server, provide both the mistaken and intended selections when contacting support.

Confirm the promotion’s deadline and region
Codes are promotional items with their own conditions. The announcement that issued a code is the authoritative place to check its deadline, regional restrictions, and any stated server or account requirements. HoYoverse has not published one general expiration interval covering all ZZZ codes.
- Use the date and time exactly as written in the official announcement.
- Convert the deadline to your local time only after noting the source time zone; do not silently treat UTC+8 as UTC.
- Check whether the announcement limits the code to a particular server region or event audience.
- Do not rely on old “active code” lists without matching every entry to a current official notice.
Special-program codes can have especially short windows. The Version 3.3 example above demonstrates why checking the original announcement matters, but it should not be copied as a general rule for every event.
A code can therefore fail even when its characters are perfect: the promotion may have ended, or the account and region may not meet its conditions. Keep the announcement open while redeeming so you can compare the exact code, capitalization, eligible audience, and deadline instead of relying on a repost.
Enter codes safely and accurately
Prevent transcription errors
- Copy from the official text when possible instead of retyping from a small video overlay.
- Remove accidental spaces before or after the code.
- Preserve uppercase and lowercase letters exactly.
- Compare ambiguous characters one at a time, especially 0 versus O.
- Paste into the official interface only; do not put the code into an unfamiliar third-party form.
If a copied value includes formatting marks, quotation marks, or line breaks from a post, compare the underlying characters before submitting. Do not “correct” an unusual-looking sequence based on guesswork; the official announcement is the reference. One careful entry is more useful than many rapid retries, because repeated attempts do not extend a deadline or bypass a one-use limit.
Use official sources for new codes
HoYoverse’s Help Center advises: For your security, redeem codes from official channels only, such as HoYoLAB, YouTube, and Twitch.
That statement was published in an article updated October 8, 2025. Treat social posts, scraped lists, and videos that do not identify an official source as unverified until you can match the code and deadline to an official announcement.
Official-channel guidance matters for both accuracy and account safety. A repost may omit a region restriction or retain a code after its deadline. A page asking for your HoYoverse password, a download, or unrelated personal information is not required for redemption. Use the official game client or the official ZZZ redemption page instead.
If the reward does not appear after a successful submission
A successful redemption message and a missing item are a different problem from an invalid code. First check the in-game mail or reward location specified by the promotion, then allow the game client to refresh after returning to the relevant screen. Avoid claiming the same code through a second route, because the one-redemption-per-account rule still applies.
If the item remains missing, ask support to check the redemption record. Include the exact code, the account and server/character involved, the approximate submission time, and a screenshot or video showing the success message or missing reward. Do not send passwords or unrelated security information.
Keep the original success screen if possible. A screenshot that includes the full message, rather than only a cropped code field, gives support a clearer record of what happened. If you used the website, note the selected server; if you used the game, note the character and region visible in the interface.

Escalate a valid-looking failure to HoYoverse
Contact support when the code is from an official source, the deadline has not passed, the spelling and case are correct, the account is eligible, and the selected server is correct, yet the interface still rejects it. HoYoverse’s troubleshooting guidance requests the specific code plus a screenshot or video of the error.
Evidence checklist
- The full code, copied exactly as published.
- A screenshot or screen recording that includes the complete error message.
- The server region and character that should receive the reward.
- The date and approximate time of the attempt, including your time zone.
- The official announcement or channel where you obtained the code.
- A description of whether the code was tried in game, on the website, or both.
The ZZZ release FAQ lists in-game Feedback and [email protected] as contact routes. Support addresses and forms can change, so use the current in-game or official support page if it provides a different route when you submit your request.
Describe the sequence plainly: when redemption was unlocked, which route you used, what server and character were selected, the exact message, and whether the code may have been submitted previously. This avoids making support reconstruct the situation from several incomplete retries. If you made a wrong-server submission, say so directly; do not omit it while asking for the code to be restored.

Do not install software that claims to redeem codes automatically, bypass expiry, or change the server attached to a reward. HoYoverse warns that third-party software used to redeem codes violates its Terms of Service and may lead to account penalties. An unofficial tool also creates a risk of credential theft or fraudulent code collection.
