To fix YouTube Live disconnects during a continuous meditation stream, first identify whether the problem is the encoder, Wi-Fi, or the Airtel connection. Check the timestamped error in YouTube Live Control Room, then test the stream over Ethernet and measure sustained upload while it is running. The title alone cannot establish the cause; changing encoder settings or blaming Airtel before those checks can send you in the wrong direction.
1. Capture the disconnect and the exact YouTube error
Open YouTube Live Control Room and inspect the stream’s health indicator and any error messages. YouTube’s dashboard checks the incoming stream and displays errors beside the health indicator; the metrics view can help you review stream performance. Record the exact wording and the time it appeared. That timestamp lets you compare YouTube’s report with encoder logs, local recording or archive activity, upload measurements, and the ONT/router indicators.

Use YouTube’s live streaming error messages and live stream metrics guidance to interpret what the dashboard reports. A configuration warning points you toward the outgoing stream’s settings; a drop without such a warning still needs diagnosis rather than an assumption about the provider.
2. Check whether the encoder is producing a healthy stream
Before changing the Airtel setup, confirm that your encoder is current and inspect its CPU load and local audio/video output. If you record or archive locally, check whether that file continues to grow through the same timestamp. A stalled local output, overloaded encoder, or unhealthy outgoing preview points first to the source, software, or configuration.

YouTube’s troubleshooting flow distinguishes an unhealthy encoder from a stream that looks healthy at the encoder but fails on its way out to YouTube. If the encoder appears healthy while Live Control Room loses the feed, investigate the outbound connection next. See YouTube’s live stream troubleshooting steps; if needed, test another encoder to determine whether the fault follows the software or device.
3. Run a controlled Ethernet test to separate Wi-Fi from the fiber link
- Connect the streaming computer directly to the Airtel ONT/router with an RJ45 Ethernet cable, such as Cat5e or Cat6. Airtel identifies RJ45 Cat5/Cat6 as the computer-to-router cable type and notes that Ethernet can be more stable than Wi-Fi because it avoids wireless interference.
- Keep the encoder, stream settings, and other conditions as similar as possible to the failing setup, then run a test long enough to observe whether the usual disconnect returns.
- Compare the result with the time-stamped Live Control Room errors and encoder logs. If Ethernet is stable while Wi-Fi disconnects, focus on wireless signal coverage, interference, or congestion. If the stream also fails while wired, continue to upload and Airtel-line checks.
A cable enables this isolation test; it is not a guaranteed fix for a fiber-provider problem. You do not need to buy a new router to learn whether the fault is specific to Wi-Fi. Airtel’s modem-light guidance also discusses indicator meanings and Ethernet, but the meaning of lights varies by modem model.

4. Measure sustained upload during the actual stream
Download speed and an advertised plan speed do not show whether your connection can sustain an outgoing live stream. Measure upload while the meditation stream is running and note whether other devices or services are uploading at the same time. Compare the sustained result during the failure period—not just a single best-case speed test—with the total stream bitrate and any simultaneous primary or backup output.

In YouTube Help’s words, “The total bitrate you’re streaming cannot exceed the amount of upload bandwidth available.” The guidance is at Streaming tips. If upload fluctuates or cannot maintain the required headroom, reduce the stream’s resolution or bitrate and repeat the controlled test.

- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
5. Match encoder settings to the stream and dashboard warnings
Use the specific Live Control Room warning to diagnose a codec, bitrate, frame-rate, or keyframe mismatch instead of changing settings at random. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR), supported codecs, and a 2-second keyframe interval; do not exceed 4 seconds. Its H.264 recommendations include:
| Output | YouTube H.264 recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not measurements of your Airtel upload capacity or a guarantee that a line will sustain the stream. Recommendations vary by resolution, frame rate, and codec. Check the full encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance for the format you actually send. If the line is unstable or short on headroom, lower resolution or bitrate and test again; if YouTube reports a specific configuration error, correct that setting first.

6. Check the ONT/router and escalate a persistent wired fault
- Confirm the ONT/router has power and that the cable plugs are seated. Check the fiber patch lead for visible damage or a sharp bend; do not pull, force, or sharply bend the delicate fiber lead.
- Interpret indicator lights using documentation for your exact modem. Airtel cautions that light meanings vary by device, so do not treat one pattern as universal proof of a fault.
- If appropriate, reboot the ONT/router once, then allow the service to reconnect before testing again. Airtel’s Xstream Fiber troubleshooting guide, updated May 21, 2026, also points customers to My Wi-Fi/Optimize Wi-Fi diagnostics in the Airtel Thanks app.
- If disconnects persist over Ethernet after these checks, contact Airtel through the app or its support channel. Provide the disconnect timestamps, the observed indicator states, and wired upload-test results so support can investigate the service side.
Airtel’s article says, “A quick troubleshooting solution is to wiggle the patch cord connector.” Because it also cautions that the fiber wire is delicate, treat this only as a check that the connector is seated—do not tug or force it. If you suspect a fiber fault, ask Airtel to investigate rather than repeatedly changing encoder settings.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhen the cause is still unclear
Keep a short record for the next test or Airtel support: the encoder/device and software version, operating system, resolution, frame rate, bitrate and codec, whether the connection was wired or Wi-Fi, the Live Control Room error and timestamp, local recording status, upload measurements under load, and ONT/router light states. Without those details, no one can reliably identify a root cause or prescribe model-specific settings. The checks above distinguish likely encoder, Wi-Fi, and access-link problems without assuming an Airtel outage, congestion, account limit, or hardware failure.
