First find out whether the audio/video mismatch is already present in your encoder preview or local recording, or whether it appears only in YouTube playback. That distinction points to different parts of the stream chain. Then check YouTube’s timestamped health messages, your encoder’s audio settings and performance, and your upload connection. There is no universal YouTube Live sync setting established by YouTube’s guidance, and changing stream latency is not a documented fix for audio/video drift.
Start by locating where the audio goes out of sync
Compare the same moment in the encoder preview, a local recording or archive if available, and YouTube playback. Use a section with a clear visual event and a distinct musical beat or vocal onset. Note whether audio leads or lags, whether the offset is steady or grows over time, and whether the issue occurs in all three views.

- Mismatch in the encoder preview or local recording: investigate the audio and video sources, routing, and encoder configuration before focusing on YouTube delivery.
- Preview and local recording look right, but YouTube playback does not: check Live Control Room health messages and investigate encoding performance and outbound connection quality.
- Only some viewers report a mismatch: compare their playback conditions and devices before changing the broadcast. A single report does not establish that the encoder output is wrong.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the stream in the encoder, reviewing encoder errors and CPU load, and inspecting a local archive for audio or video problems. YouTube live-stream troubleshooting

Check YouTube Live Control Room for specific errors
Open the stream’s health information in Live Control Room and read each alert, including its timestamp. Match the alert to when the sync problem began. Fix the issue the dashboard actually identifies—such as an audio format, stream count, sample-rate, or bitrate problem—instead of changing unrelated settings.

YouTube’s error guidance calls for H.264 video and AAC audio, identifies AAC and MP3 as supported audio codecs, requests one audio stream, recommends a 128 Kbps audio bitrate, and calls for a 44.1 kHz audio sample rate. These are ingestion and configuration checks; they do not diagnose every A/V sync fault. YouTube live-stream error messages
Verify the encoder and source configuration
Check the audio path
- Confirm that the intended music source is routed into the stream and that the encoder is not sending multiple audio streams unintentionally.
- Check whether the source player, audio interface, or other part of the chain is introducing a delay. If the fault is already visible in the encoder preview or local recording, isolate sources one at a time.
- Verify the audio codec and sample rate against the Live Control Room alerts and YouTube’s guidance. Avoid applying a guessed offset: YouTube’s reviewed live guidance does not prescribe a universal sync adjustment.
Check the video path and encoder load
- Confirm the encoder is sending the intended video source and that the preview is smooth enough to judge timing.
- Review CPU load and encoder warnings around the time the fault appears. High load or encoding errors warrant investigation before changing sync settings.
- If the encoder has a local recording option, inspect that file at the affected moment. A mismatch in the archive points back toward the source or encoder path rather than YouTube playback.
Encoder controls vary by software and hardware. Use the documentation for the encoder you actually run rather than assuming a menu or offset control that may not exist. YouTube’s troubleshooting steps focus on the encoder, sources, CPU, local archive, and connection.

Separate encoder performance from upload problems
If the preview and archive are clean, test the outbound connection and compare the total bitrate of the primary and any backup stream with available upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the total stream bitrate. That margin is for connection capacity; it is not a sync-offset setting. YouTube streaming tips

- Check that the connection has sufficient upload capacity for the combined stream bitrate, with the recommended headroom.
- Change one relevant variable at a time, then compare the same section in the encoder output and YouTube playback.
Test before relying on a change for a 24/7 broadcast
Do not treat a brief preview as proof that a continuous Hindi songs stream is stable. Test a representative segment with both audio and visible movement, then monitor stream health while it runs. YouTube recommends pre-testing with audio and movement similar to the real stream and monitoring stream health during operation; its guidance does not prescribe a specific monitoring interval. - Choose a representative section that includes vocals or a clear beat and visible motion.
- Run a test stream and check the encoder preview and local recording, if available.
- Watch Live Control Room health messages and note their timestamps.
- Compare the same section in YouTube playback. If you changed a setting, make only one change before repeating the comparison.
- Continue monitoring stream health during the broadcast and keep a record of when any new fault appears.
Do not use latency as a sync-drift fix
Stream latency is the delay between capture and playback for viewers; it is different from the timing relationship between audio and video. YouTube says lower latency can increase buffering and describes normal latency as suitable for non-interactive streams. Its documentation does not say that changing the latency option corrects A/V drift. For a non-interactive music stream, stable playback is generally more important than minimizing capture-to-viewer delay. YouTube’s latency guidance and live stream settings
YouTube describes low latency as usually under 10 seconds for most viewers and ultra-low latency as usually under 5 seconds for most viewers. Those figures describe delivery latency, not acceptable audio/video sync tolerance.

Keep copyright checks separate from sync troubleshooting
Copyright enforcement will not repair timing, but it can interrupt a continuous songs broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even if you have a licence, the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel for the content to remain live. Check rights and allowlisting separately from encoder and sync issues.
