Start by documenting the glitch and your setup
“Tree graphics glitch” can describe flickering, corrupted textures, missing leaves, or other visible artifacts. The description alone does not identify a cause. Record details before changing settings so you can compare results and provide useful information if you contact support.

- Note the game version shown in the game or launcher.
- Record your GPU model and graphics-driver version.
- Write down where the artifact appears and what you were doing when it happened.
- Note whether you use mods, trainers, or console commands, and whether the playthrough involves Phantom Liberty.
- Capture a screenshot or short video if the issue is visible.
CD PROJEKT RED’s visual-issue guidance asks players to check their drivers before reporting; its support form collects platform, version, expansion and mod-status details.
Update or clean-install the graphics driver
Install the current driver for your graphics card using the driver support channel provided by its manufacturer. CD PROJEKT RED recommends updating graphics drivers before reporting visual issues and links to clean-install guidance for NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel in its visual-issue article. Avoid downloading drivers from an unspecified third-party site.

If the tree artifacts began immediately after a driver update, the publisher’s performance guidance says to install the previous driver version and report the issue. Retest after the driver change before moving on.
Verify the game files in your launcher
Damaged or missing installation files can cause glitched graphics, according to CD PROJEKT RED’s file-verification guide. Choose the instructions for the launcher where your PC copy is installed:

Launcher labels can change. If a path differs, use the current verify, repair, or integrity-check option for the game.
Relaunch and test the same conditions
Start the game again and revisit the location where you saw the problem. Keeping the location and conditions as similar as possible helps establish whether the change affected the glitch. If you can, load an earlier save from before it began to see whether the artifact follows a particular save or location.

If updating the driver and verifying the files do not help, CD PROJEKT RED’s visual-issue guidance includes reinstalling the game and trying an earlier save. Reinstallation is more disruptive than the steps above, so try it only after those checks.
Report the issue if it remains
Send CD PROJEKT RED a clear screenshot or video through its visual-issue support form. Include the game version, PC platform or storefront, GPU and driver version, whether Phantom Liberty applies, and whether you used mods, trainers, or console commands. If the issue is tied to a specific place or save, provide that context and attach a save file if relevant; include a DxDiag report when requested or useful.

Does a tree glitch mean your PC needs a new GPU?
Not on its own. CD PROJEKT RED’s system requirements are divided by resolution and graphics mode, including standard graphics, ray tracing, and Overdrive/Path Tracing. They help determine whether a PC meets the requirements for a chosen configuration; they do not diagnose a particular foliage artifact or show that an upgrade will fix it. Check your system against the current requirements for the resolution and mode you use before considering hardware changes.
