The quickest way to fix an Acer Sospiro A70 rear-display problem is to identify what actually fails. Test the stock rear-camera viewfinder and the panel’s time, message, or call information first. If those work and only one downloaded app fails, the likely problem is app compatibility rather than a dead screen. If the panel is blank or touch is absent in every documented function, restart, clean and uncover the display, install available updates, and then contact Acer with the phone’s serial number, SNID, or part number.
What the A70’s second display is designed to do
Acer describes the Sospiro A70 as having a 1.88-inch color TFT panel beside the rear cameras. Its resolution is 240×284 pixels, and GSMchoice lists touchscreen support. Acer positions it primarily as a way to frame selfies with the 64 MP main camera. Other documented functions are at-a-glance information such as the time, incoming messages, and calls.

Neither Acer’s product information nor the other cited specifications establish that the rear panel is a general-purpose, full-size Android screen on which every app can run. Treat it as a specialized accessory display unless Acer’s manual or a later firmware notice says otherwise.
Start with a symptom check
Before changing settings, run the same small set of tests. Write down exactly what happens; this prevents an app problem from being mistaken for a hardware failure.

- Wake the phone and open the stock camera. Switch to the rear-camera viewfinder and try to use the small panel to frame a shot. Do not rely on a third-party camera for this first test.
- Check an information view. Trigger a harmless notification or observe whether the rear panel shows the time. If practical, have someone call the phone and see whether the incoming-call information appears.
- Test touch in that stock function. Tap the controls that are visibly available. Note whether taps never register, register intermittently, or register in the wrong place.
- Compare failures. A blank panel in every function is different from a correctly working camera viewfinder with one app that will not open.
- Record the conditions. Note whether the problem started after an update, after applying a case or film, after a drop or liquid exposure, or only when the phone is rotated.

Fix rear-display touch that does not respond
1. Restart before changing anything
Use the phone’s normal restart command, allow Android to boot completely, and test the stock camera viewfinder again. A restart clears a temporary process or driver state without deleting photographs, apps, or settings. If the phone is frozen, use the hardware restart procedure documented for the A70 rather than repeatedly tapping the small screen; the public product information does not specify that button combination.
2. Remove physical interference
Take off the case and any adhesive film, camera-module protector, or decorative cover that overlaps the rear display or its touch boundary. Small rear panels are easy to cover unintentionally, especially when a protector is cut for the camera lenses but not the secondary screen. Test with the phone bare. Do not press hard on the panel or insert anything around its edge.
3. Clean and dry the surface
Power the phone down if the surface is wet. Wipe the panel gently with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Remove fingerprints, lotion, condensation, and dust. Do not spray liquid directly onto the phone, use abrasive material, or attempt to lift the display. Retest only after the surface and your fingers are dry.

Open the stock camera, select the rear camera, and see whether the preview appears. Then check the time or notification view. If touch returns in these functions, the original failure may have been a temporary software state or an obstruction. If the image is visible but touch remains completely dead, continue with software isolation rather than repeatedly tapping.
5. Install available system and app updates
Use Android’s normal software-update screen and install updates offered for the phone. Then update the camera and the affected app through the phone’s app store. Menu names can differ by carrier and region, so use the update controls actually shown on the A70. Keep the phone charged and connected to a reliable network while an update is applied. Do not install firmware intended for another model or region.

6. Check for an app overlay
Temporarily close floating controls, screen filters, accessibility overlays, or other utilities that draw over the interface. These can intercept taps even when the panel itself is healthy. Reopen the stock camera and test again. If touch works after an overlay is closed, re-enable utilities one at a time to identify the conflict.
7. Decide whether the fault is intermittent or complete
Tap several visible controls once each; do not perform a forceful or rapid tapping test. Record whether taps fail everywhere, fail along one edge, or work only after the phone wakes. A repeatable dead strip or a panel that never responds after restart and accessory removal is evidence to give Acer support, not a reason to attempt an unverified calibration menu.
8. What not to do
- Do not claim that a hidden touch-calibration code or menu will fix the A70; Acer has not published a rear-display calibration procedure in the available product material.
- Do not factory-reset the phone as the first response. A reset erases local data and will not repair a physically damaged touch layer.
- Do not open the phone or substitute an unverified display part while warranty coverage may apply.
Fix a rotated or upside-down rear display
The available official information does not document a rear-display rotation lock, orientation menu, or calibration control. That means there is no verified Acer setting path to provide for forcing a particular orientation. Treat a rotation symptom as an isolation problem first.
Determine where the rotation is wrong
- Open the stock rear-camera viewfinder and observe the image.
- Check the time, message, or call information view separately.
- Open the app that appears upside down, if it is still usable.
- Turn the phone through the orientations that normally trigger the symptom and note whether the panel changes.
If every rear-display function is rotated in the same way, the issue is more likely a system or firmware state. If only one app is rotated while the camera and information view are correct, the app is making its own layout assumption. If the image changes unpredictably after a restart, include that behavior in a support report.
Use conservative software isolation
Restart the A70, install available system and app updates, and repeat the three-function test. Force-close the app that shows the wrong orientation and reopen it. If Android offers a cache-clearing control for that app, clear only the cache first; do not erase app data unless you understand what credentials or offline content will be removed. Do not install an unofficial rotation utility as a diagnostic shortcut, because it can add another layer that changes the result.

Separate orientation from a physically inverted image
A display that is upside down in every function is different from an app whose buttons are clipped, mirrored, or positioned incorrectly. The latter can occur when an app assumes a normal, full-size Android display instead of a 1.88-inch, 240×284 rear panel. Describe the exact symptom—rotated image, mirrored controls, clipped text, or no response—when contacting the developer or Acer.

Acer’s documented rear-display uses center on camera framing and notifications. An app that expects a conventional full-size Android screen may not render on this specialized panel, may show only part of its interface, or may accept no useful input. That is a reasoned compatibility diagnosis, not a published Acer promise that every Android app supports the rear display.
Use the stock functions as a control
First verify that the camera preview and at least one information view work. If they do, avoid treating the affected app as proof that the screen is defective. Capture a screenshot on the main display if possible, note the app name and version, and record whether the app was installed before or after the problem began.
Force-close and reopen
Open Android’s app-information screen for the affected app, choose the force-close command if it is offered, and launch the app again. The exact labels can vary between Android builds. A force-close ends a stuck process without removing its account or stored data.
Update the app
Check the app store for an update. Developers sometimes correct window-size, rotation, or input handling in later releases. If no update exists, compare the behavior with another app only as a diagnostic; a second app working does not prove that the first one supports the rear panel.

Clear cache cautiously
If Android exposes a clear-cache option in the app’s storage controls, use that before clearing storage or uninstalling. Cache removal can discard temporary files but normally preserves the app’s account data. Clearing storage, uninstalling, or signing out may remove downloads and require credentials, so reserve those actions for a problem that survives the less disruptive steps.
Check permissions and account state
If the app needs camera, notification, or accessibility access, verify that its permissions were not revoked. A permission problem can look like an unresponsive preview. Grant only permissions you understand and trust. If the app requires an account, confirm that it works on the main display before concluding that the rear panel is at fault.
Know when the app is simply unsupported
If the camera and information views remain reliable, the app is updated, and its controls still do not render or respond on the rear panel, stop repeating resets. Contact the app developer with the A70 model, Android version, panel resolution, and a description of the behavior. Ask whether the developer supports secondary or auxiliary displays. Acer’s public feature description does not establish universal app compatibility.

The A70 is a self-contained phone. External-monitor cable procedures are not direct fixes for its built-in rear panel. Disconnect docks, adapters, or other accessories while testing anyway, because a general display path can become unstable when an accessory, connector, or software component is involved. For this phone, the more relevant checks are removing the case or protector, cleaning the panel, restarting, and updating software.

When to contact Acer support
Escalate when the rear panel stays blank or untouchable after a restart, accessory removal, cleaning, and available updates; when the main camera preview also fails; or when the fault began after physical impact or liquid exposure. Acer’s support portal uses the device serial number, SNID, or part number to locate the appropriate manuals, drivers, warranty information, and repair options. Enter the identifier exactly as printed in the phone’s packaging, settings, or label rather than selecting a similar model from a generic list.
Prepare a useful support report
- State whether the panel is blank, visible but not touch-responsive, rotated, mirrored, or limited to one app.
- Say whether the stock rear-camera viewfinder works.
- Say whether the time, message, or call information appears.
- List the Android version and the affected app’s name and version.
- Record the restart, cleaning, case-removal, and update steps already completed.
- Include the serial number, SNID, or part number through Acer’s support channel rather than posting it publicly.
- Describe any drop, pressure, liquid, unusual heat, or repair history.
Ask Acer whether an A70 manual or firmware package is available for your country and carrier. Availability can vary by region. Do not flash firmware from another market unless Acer explicitly confirms that it is correct for the device.
Repair or replacement: a practical decision framework
Do not assume that a replacement rear display is available or that a third-party part will preserve touch and camera functions. The available information does not verify an official A70 replacement-display listing or parts catalog. Compare the following before authorizing work.

- Keep the display dry and clean it with a soft cloth instead of abrasive material.
- Install system and app updates through the phone’s normal channels.

- Keep a note of the app version and Android version when reporting a compatibility problem.

What a successful diagnosis looks like
A successful fix is not necessarily making every Android app appear on the rear panel.
