If Skyborne is missing after you paid, check the edition and the World of Warcraft account that completed the purchase first. The Heroic Pack or a higher edition unlocks the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience. Advertised beta access is tied to the Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection, and the beta must appear as a separate license in the Battle.net desktop app. You also need an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time.
Start with the entitlement you actually bought
Skyborne access is an account entitlement, not a universal unlock attached to every World of Warcraft account. Blizzard’s official wording is: “Access to Skyborne Race or the Zephras Isle starting experience questline requires purchase of Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher edition.” A subscription or game time remains necessary to play, even when the race entitlement is present.

| Edition or purchase | Skyborne race | Zephras Isle starting experience | Advertised beta access | Included game time | Early Name Reservation | Other benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heroic Pack | Included; minimum edition | Included | Not included according to the entitlement distinction in the official materials | Not stated in the official details cited here | Not stated; reservation is limited to the WoW account on which it was purchased | Not stated in the official details cited here |
| Epic Pack | Included | Included | Included | 30 days; begins November 4, 2026 | Not stated as a separate edition benefit; account-specific when purchased | Additional cosmetic, mount, pet, housing, or Warcraft III benefits are not itemized in the official details cited here |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | Includes Heroic benefits | Included | Included | Not stated in the official details cited here | Not stated as a separate edition benefit; account-specific when purchased | Collection benefits are not fully itemized in the official details cited here |
| Any lower, different, or unrelated purchase | Do not assume access | Do not assume access | Do not assume access | Depends on the purchase | Depends on the purchase and account | Depends on the purchase |
The practical split is simple: Heroic is the minimum for the race and its starting experience; Epic or the Warcraft Forever Collection is required for the advertised beta access. Buying Epic is not a prerequisite for creating a normal Skyborne character once you own Heroic or higher.

WoW: Forever launches on November 4, 2026. Early Name Reservation runs from October 27 through November 3, 2026. A player trying to enter the regular launch experience before November 4 may be encountering a schedule restriction rather than an invalid purchase.

The Epic Pack’s 30 days of game time begin on November 4, 2026. That date is a crediting rule, not an early-access date. It does not move the game’s launch forward and it does not by itself grant beta access to a Heroic purchaser.
- Before October 27: Early Name Reservation is not yet scheduled to be available.
- October 27–November 3: The reservation window is open, but it is separate from the November 4 launch.
- November 4 onward: WoW: Forever launches; Epic game time starts on that date.
Fix a Skyborne race that is missing from character creation
1. Confirm the edition name in your purchase record
Look for the exact product name rather than relying on a memory such as “the Skyborne pack.” The product must be the Heroic Pack, Epic Pack, or Warcraft Forever Collection for the race entitlement described above. If the record shows a different product, a cosmetic-only item, or a purchase made for another game, the character-creation option may correctly remain unavailable.
2. Sign in to the exact WoW account that paid
Entitlements apply to the WoW account used for the purchase. Battle.net can contain more than one WoW account, so being signed in to the correct Battle.net identity is not enough if the purchase was assigned to a different WoW account under that identity. Switch to the account that appears in the transaction or game-account list, then restart the game client.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThis account rule is especially important for Early Name Reservation: Blizzard explicitly limits it to the specific WoW account on which it was purchased. A reservation or pack on one WoW account should not be expected to appear on another.

3. Check the subscription or game-time requirement
The race entitlement and the ability to play are separate checks. A Heroic, Epic, or Collection entitlement does not replace the World of Warcraft subscription or game time required to play. If the race is visible but entering the game is blocked, resolve the subscription or game-time status rather than buying the pack again.
4. Allow for the applicable date
If your purchase is valid and attached to the right account but the game is not yet within its announced availability window, wait for the relevant date. Early Name Reservation is limited to October 27–November 3, 2026, while the full WoW: Forever launch is November 4, 2026.
5. Refresh the client after correcting the account
- Close World of Warcraft completely.
- Sign out of the Battle.net desktop app.
- Sign back in with the Battle.net identity containing the purchasing WoW account.
- Open the game again and inspect character creation.
This refresh does not transfer an entitlement; it only makes the client recheck the account you selected. If the product is still absent after the correct account, edition, subscription, and date are confirmed, preserve the transaction details and contact Blizzard Support.

Beta access is not the same as race access
Heroic unlocks the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience, but the advertised beta access is attached to the Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection. A Heroic purchase alone should not be expected to create a beta download option.

Use the dedicated beta entry in Battle.net
For a qualifying Epic or Collection purchase, Blizzard’s instructions use the Battle.net desktop app rather than the standard live-game entry:
- Open the Battle.net desktop app.
- Select World of Warcraft.
- Open the Game Version drop-down.
- Under In Development, choose
World of Warcraft: Forever Beta. - Open the account or game-account area and check Your Game Accounts.
- Verify that a beta license is attached to the WoW account you intend to use.
- Return to the beta entry and start the installation or launch process.
If World of Warcraft: Forever Beta is not listed, first verify the edition and account. If the beta entry is listed but Your Game Accounts does not show a beta license, the client is not seeing the qualifying entitlement on that WoW account. Do not infer that buying Heroic again will solve a missing beta license; the edition requirement is the first issue to resolve.
Separate an unavailable beta from a broken download
- No beta entry: Check that you purchased Epic or the Warcraft Forever Collection and selected the correct Battle.net identity.
- Beta entry but no license: Check Your Game Accounts and the WoW account tied to the transaction.
- License present but installation will not begin: Restart the Battle.net app, reselect the beta version, and check the account again.
- Trying before the announced window: Confirm whether the issue is simply timing; the full launch date is November 4, 2026.
The official information establishes the required client path and license check, but it does not promise a particular activation delay, download speed, refund process, account merge, or escalation time. Avoid making a second purchase while the first transaction is being investigated.
Understand Early Name Reservation
Early Name Reservation is a limited feature, not evidence that every pack has already activated every other feature. The announced reservation period is October 27–November 3, 2026. It is also account-specific: Blizzard says the reservation is limited to the WoW account on which it was purchased.

Therefore, a name reserved on one WoW account will not automatically appear when you log into another WoW account under the same Battle.net identity. If the reservation window is open and the purchase is on the correct account but the name is unavailable, record the exact account, character name, purchase receipt, and time of the attempt before contacting support.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why Skyborne Mage or Shaman is locked
Faction selection changes the Skyborne identity and the class options shown during character creation. Blizzard states: “At character creation, you’ll choose whether your Skyborne joins the Horde or the Alliance.” The locked class may therefore be an intended faction rule rather than a missing race entitlement.
| Faction choice | Skyborne identity | Faction-specific class option | Classes available to both factions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horde | Windshaper | Shaman | Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior |
| Alliance | High-Order Skyborne | Mage | Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior |
If Mage is locked
Choose the Alliance path to create a High-Order Skyborne Mage. A Horde Windshaper cannot select Mage under the stated faction rules. Changing the account, reinstalling the client, or buying Epic does not change that character-creation restriction.
If Shaman is locked
Choose the Horde path to create a Windshaper Shaman. An Alliance High-Order Skyborne cannot select Shaman under the stated rules.
If a shared class is locked
Druids, Hunters, Rogues, and Warriors are listed for both factions. If one of these is unavailable after you select either faction, return to the entitlement checks: correct edition, correct WoW account, active subscription or game time, and the applicable launch date. A shared class should not be locked merely because you chose Horde or Alliance.
Use the symptom to choose the next check
| What you see | Most likely distinction | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Skyborne is absent from character creation | Edition, WoW account, subscription, or date issue | Confirm Heroic or higher, select the purchasing WoW account, verify game time, and check the launch schedule. |
| You bought Heroic and cannot see the beta | Edition does not include the advertised beta access | Beta access requires Epic or the Warcraft Forever Collection. |
| Epic was purchased but no beta download appears | Wrong client entry or missing beta license display | Select World of Warcraft: Forever Beta under In Development and inspect Your Game Accounts. |
| The beta license is attached but the client still fails | Client refresh or account-selection problem | Sign out, restart Battle.net, select the same WoW account, and recheck the beta entry. |
| Early Name Reservation is missing | Outside the reservation dates or wrong WoW account | Check October 27–November 3, 2026 and the account named in the purchase. |
| Mage is unavailable | Faction rule | Select Alliance for High-Order Skyborne Mage. |
| Shaman is unavailable | Faction rule | Select Horde for Windshaper Shaman. |
What to send Blizzard Support when the entitlement is still missing
Once you have checked the edition, account, client entry, license list, dates, and subscription, collect enough information for support to distinguish an entitlement problem from a client display problem.
- The exact edition name: Heroic Pack, Epic Pack, or Warcraft Forever Collection.
- The Battle.net identity and the specific WoW account selected when you checked.
- The transaction date, order number, and purchase receipt.
- A description of the missing feature: race, Zephras Isle starting experience, beta license, or name reservation.
- For beta issues, the exact text shown in Game Version and Your Game Accounts.
- The date and time of the attempted action, especially if it occurred near October 27 or November 4, 2026.
Keep the original transaction details intact and avoid buying a duplicate entitlement while the account assignment is being reviewed. The published information confirms the checks above but does not establish a universal refund, account-merge, or escalation procedure, so support must determine the remedy for an individual transaction.
Final pre-ticket checklist
- You own Heroic, Epic, or the Warcraft Forever Collection for race access.
- You own Epic or the Warcraft Forever Collection for the advertised beta access.
- You selected the WoW account that completed the purchase.
- Your World of Warcraft subscription or game time is active.
- You are testing within the announced dates: Early Name Reservation from October 27–November 3, 2026, and launch from November 4, 2026.
- For beta, you selected
World of Warcraft: Forever Betaunder In Development. - Your Game Accounts shows the beta license when beta access should be included.
- You chose the faction that grants the desired class: Horde Windshaper for Shaman or Alliance High-Order Skyborne for Mage.
These checks identify the common entitlement, timing, account, beta-client, and character-creation causes without treating a valid faction restriction as a purchase failure.
