If Samsung Now Brief is empty, silent, late, or showing incorrect details, work through the checks in this order: enable the briefing categories, restore notification permissions for the apps that supply them, remove notification filters, verify the widget or Edge-panel surface, check the wake-and-bedtime schedule, then update and restart the phone. For incorrect facts, verify the underlying Calendar, Weather, Health, traffic, or other source app before reporting the issue through Samsung Members.
Now Brief is a personalized briefing feature on supported Samsung phones running compatible One UI software. Samsung says it can present suggested content and actions through the Now Brief widget or Edge panel, with information changing during the day. What Samsung Now Brief does—and what counts as a notification
Samsung describes Now Brief as personalized briefings available between your registered wake-up time and bedtime. The briefing can contain suggested content and actions that update throughout the day. You normally reach it from the Now Brief widget or the Edge panel; a missing item is therefore not always a conventional notification failure.

The Now Brief feature is separate from the Now bar. The Now bar is a lock-screen presentation for live notifications from supported apps. A phone can have Now Brief categories enabled while the Now bar is disabled, or vice versa. Check both surfaces when you expect information on the lock screen.
Identify the symptom before changing settings
Use the symptom that best matches what you see. This prevents changing unrelated settings and gives you a useful description if you later submit an error report.

Restore missing Now Brief notifications step by step
1. Turn on the content categories you actually need
- Open Settings.
- Tap Galaxy AI, then Now brief.
- Open Content to include.
- Turn on each category you want in the briefing.
Some models place the same control at Settings > Advanced features > Intelligent features > Now brief. If neither path exists, use Settings search for “Now brief” and check the phone’s model and One UI version. A category can be enabled globally while still producing no card when its source has no current information.

After changing a category, return to the Now Brief widget or Edge panel and allow the next update. The setting controls what may be included; it does not guarantee an immediate alert or a card when there is nothing new to show.

2. Restore ordinary notification permission for source apps
Now Brief relies on information supplied by Samsung services and connected apps. If an app’s notifications are blocked, its category is disabled, or the app’s notification channel is suppressed, the related briefing may be absent.
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Choose App notifications or the equivalent app list on your model.
- Select the app associated with the missing topic, such as your calendar, weather, health, or traffic app.
- Turn on notifications for that app.
- Open the app’s notification categories and enable the category that carries the relevant updates.
Do not assume that enabling the app’s master switch enables every category. Android can keep individual categories off. If you changed notification behavior recently, also inspect the lock-screen notification style, sorting, and filtering controls in the Notifications settings.
3. Remove filters that hide older, background, or minimized notifications
One UI can hide notifications that are old, generated in the background, or minimized. This can make a Now Brief update appear to be missing even though the source event exists.
- Open Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings.
- Tap Filter notifications.
- Review the enabled filters and disable any rule that hides the source app or its category.
- Return to the app’s notification settings and confirm that its category is not set to a minimized or silent presentation that your current lock-screen configuration excludes.
Notification filtering affects visibility; it does not repair incorrect source data. Once filters are changed, wait for a new update or reopen the Now Brief surface rather than expecting previously hidden content to be reconstructed immediately.

4. Check the surface where you expect to see the briefing
Now Brief is designed to be opened from its widget or the Edge panel. If you removed the widget, disabled the Edge panel, or are checking only the lock screen, the feature can appear to have stopped working.
- Look for the Now Brief widget on the home screen and add it again if it was removed.
- Open the Edge panel and check whether the Now Brief panel is available.
- If you expect a live lock-screen item, check the separate Now bar settings at Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar > View more.
- In the Now bar list, enable supported apps whose live notifications you want to see.
The Now bar path is model-dependent. A source app may support a Now bar item without being a Now Brief category, so use the correct surface for the information you are trying to find.
5. Check the registered wake-up and bedtime window
Samsung Members guidance says Now Brief is active between the wake-up time and bedtime registered on the phone, with timing that can vary. A briefing may therefore be absent overnight or arrive at a different minute than you expect.

- Review the phone’s sleep or bedtime information and confirm that the wake-up and bedtime values are realistic.
- If the schedule changed recently, wait until the next expected active period.
- Keep the phone connected and usable during that period so source apps can refresh their data.
Do not treat a delay of several minutes as proof that the feature is broken. The schedule defines an active window, not a guaranteed delivery timestamp.

6. Install the current software update and restart
One UI 7 and One UI 8 can move or rename Galaxy AI and notification controls. An update can also contain a fix for a device-specific notification problem.
- Open Settings > Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Install an available update according to the on-screen instructions.
- Restart the phone after installation.
- Repeat the settings checks using the labels shown by your updated software.
Use the exact path displayed on your model. Instructions written for another Galaxy phone can be technically correct yet point to a menu that does not exist on your edition.

Confirm the category and its source
Open Settings > Galaxy AI > Now brief > Content to include, or the alternate Intelligent features path, and verify the missing topic. Then open the app that supplies it. A calendar card, for example, depends on current calendar entries and the account that owns them; weather information depends on a usable location and current weather data; health or traffic cards depend on the corresponding connected service.

If the source app has no new or relevant data, Now Brief may correctly omit that topic.
Check account, permission, and location state in the source app
- Confirm that the source app is signed in to the account containing the expected information.
- Check calendar, health, location, or notification permissions requested by that app.
- Open the source app directly and verify that its data is current.
- For location-dependent information, confirm that location access is available and that the displayed location is the one you expect.
- Correct the source record first, then wait for the next Now Brief update.
If the source app is already correct but Now Brief repeatedly omits the topic, record the exact category, source app, phone model, One UI version, and time of the update. Those details distinguish a data problem from a presentation or synchronization problem.
When Now Brief shows inaccurate information
Separate a wrong source from a wrong briefing
Open the relevant source app immediately after seeing the incorrect card. If the source app contains the same wrong event, address its account, permission, location, or record first. If the source app is correct while Now Brief is wrong, the discrepancy is in the briefing’s processing or synchronization path.
For example, correct a changed calendar time in the calendar account rather than editing a Now Brief card. Likewise, check the weather app’s selected location and refresh state before treating a weather value as a Now Brief calculation error.
Record a reproducible example
Before reporting, write down:
- Phone model and region, if relevant.
- One UI version, found in the phone’s software information.
- The exact Now Brief category and wording that was wrong.
- The correct value shown by the underlying source app.
- The date and approximate time the incorrect item appeared.
- Whether the error repeats after reopening the widget or Edge panel.
A precise example is more useful than a general statement that the briefing is inaccurate. Do not claim a numerical accuracy rate: Samsung’s published guidance does not establish one.
Submit the issue through Samsung Members
- Open the Samsung Members app.
- Use its support or error-reporting function.
- Describe the reproducible mismatch and include the model, One UI version, category, source-app result, and time.
- Attach logs when the app offers that option, and send the report soon after reproducing the problem.
Samsung Members is the appropriate escalation route identified in Samsung’s guidance for an error report with logs. Keep the source-app evidence available in case support asks for clarification.
One UI and model differences you should expect
Samsung explicitly cautions that menu names and paths vary by device model and software version. The two documented routes for Now Brief settings are:

Now Brief is not available on every Galaxy model. The feature’s default-enabled behavior applies to supported devices running compatible software, not to all Samsung phones. If the setting is absent after using Settings search and checking for updates, confirm that the model and One UI release support the feature before treating the absence as a fault.

- Do not install a third-party notification app as a substitute for Now Brief; the documented remedies are built-in settings, permissions, scheduling, updates, and support escalation.
- Do not assume a missing lock-screen item means the Now Brief engine is disabled; the Now bar and Now Brief are separate surfaces.
- Do not change every notification setting at once. Make one change, wait for the next update, and note the result.
- Do not report an accuracy percentage that Samsung has not published. Use a specific, repeatable mismatch instead.
