First check which screen is missing Plex: Google TV’s home screen and Plex’s own Home screen use different settings. If Plex is missing from Google TV’s Continue watching row and from your profile’s Your services list, a recent Plex app integration regression is plausible; reports through October 3, 2026 are mixed, so no single update is confirmed to fix every device.
Identify which home screen is affected
Google TV Home is the device launcher, with rows such as Continue watching and service-based recommendations. Plex Home is inside the Plex app and has its own library and recommendation rows. A setting that changes Plex Home will not restore Plex tiles to Google TV Home.

- Both are affected: Work through the relevant checks for each screen; they may have separate causes.
Fix missing Plex tiles on Google TV Home
1. Check the active profile’s services
- On Google TV, open Settings → Accounts & Sign In.
- Select the profile you use, then open Your services.
- If Plex appears, turn it on and exit Settings to save the change.
Google says selected services can affect recommendations, but not every show, movie, or service has home-screen options. If Plex is absent from Your services as well as from Continue watching, there is no Plex toggle there to restore. Google’s instructions are at Manage your services on Google TV.

Google TV’s Apps only mode hides personalized recommendations from the home screen. Turn it off if you want recommendation rows to appear. This is a visibility check, not a documented fix for Plex disappearing from Your services. Google explains the mode in its Google TV home screen help.

3. Check for a Plex app update
Open the Play Store on the TV, find Plex, and install an update if one is offered. A Plex forum thread reports that Watch Next integration stopped appearing for some users after the Android TV/Google TV app moved to version 2026.17.x. Plex forum staff member brdunn3700 wrote on October 1, 2026: “Google is in-between two different APIs for publishing the continue watching content to the home screen right now and we added a fallback to use the older API when the newer API is not available in 2026.19.0.” That forum reply describes a fallback, not a guarantee that all devices or builds will work.
Later reports were inconsistent: one user on 2026.19.1 still could not restore Google TV Continue watching, while another said build 971050469 brought entries back. The thread does not establish that this build is broadly available in Google Play or that it fixes stock Google TV Home on all devices. Use the normal Play Store update path rather than treating an unofficial or sideloaded build as the standard remedy. Track the reports in the Plex forum thread about missing Google TV tiles.

4. Retest with a newly played item
- Play a Plex movie or episode for a few minutes.
- Stop or pause playback.
- Return to Google TV Home and check Continue watching.
- Confirm Plex is still enabled under the active profile’s Your services.
This mirrors the forum thread’s reproduction procedure. Google TV’s recommendations depend on factors such as selected services, activity, device, region, and commercial arrangements, so the launcher does not promise to show every item from every installed app. Google describes its discovery system in its Google TV help.
5. Don’t assume resets will fix an integration regression
In the reported case, rebooting the device, clearing Plex’s cache and data, signing in again, and reinstalling Plex did not restore the missing service entry or tiles. These can still be reasonable basic checks for unrelated app problems, but the reports do not show them fixing this particular missing-integration symptom.

Restore missing rows inside Plex
If the missing rows are on Plex’s own Home screen, pin the relevant media library in the Plex sidebar and check Plex’s recommendation settings. Plex says enabled library rows appear on the player Home screen when that library is pinned. Collection rows have separate Plex Pass and software-version requirements; see Plex’s guide to managing recommendations.
These controls only affect Plex’s interface. They do not publish or restore Plex’s external Continue watching row in Google TV Home.

Know what the current reports do—and don’t—show
The issue report began September 24, 2026. Its original poster said Google TV Continue watching tiles disappeared and Plex vanished from Your services after Plex app version 2026.17.x; updating to 2026.19.0 did not help. The reported setup was a Google TV Streamer 4K on Android TV OS 14 with Plex Media Server 1.43.4.10903. A different user said the older 10.30.8.4222 app build restored the row on a TCL Google TV running Android TV 14. These are individual device reports, not a controlled compatibility test.

Later replies remain mixed. A user on 2026.19.1 reported that Continue watching was still missing even though Projectivy showed Plex channels; recommendation tiles showed exclamation marks and would not open the episode. A separate October 3 report said build 971050469 restored launcher entries for that participant. The thread does not establish a universal fix, the rollout status of that build, or whether it works with stock Google TV Home.

Don’t confuse Google TV Watchlist with Plex Universal Watchlist
Google TV Watchlist is tied to a Google account; Plex Universal Watchlist is a Plex account feature. Saving a title to either list is not a repair for Plex’s Watch Next publishing integration.
