“Page could not be loaded” is not one specific Windows 11 error. Microsoft Store may open while a product page, search result, category, or Library fails to retrieve its content. Start by checking whether one listing or the entire Store is affected, then work through wsreset.exe, Store Repair and Reset, updates, account and region checks, and network tests. Re-register the Store only when its package exists but is not registered, and do not uninstall it with random PowerShell scripts.
First, determine whether one page or the whole Store is broken
Open Microsoft Store and run these quick checks:
- Search for a well-known free app such as Microsoft Calculator or Microsoft Photos.
- Open Library.
- Try the same Store listing in a web browser.
- If possible, connect the PC to a phone hotspot and test again.
| What you observe | Most useful direction |
|---|---|
| Only one product page fails | Check region, account, family settings, compatibility, delisting, and the publisher’s listing before repairing Windows. |
| All listings fail, but Store opens | Reset the cache, then Repair and Reset the Store app. |
| Library works but product pages fail | The Store front end or a page-specific response may be failing. |
| Store and its website fail only on one network | Investigate VPN, proxy, filtering, DNS, firewall, or captive-portal issues. |
| The same page fails on several devices and networks | The issue is more likely Microsoft- or publisher-side than a damaged PC. |
Microsoft lists region, family restrictions, catalog removal, compatibility, recent updates, and account authorization as reasons an app may not appear or install: Microsoft’s availability guidance.
Fix 1: Restart Windows and sign in again
- Close Microsoft Store.
- Select Start > Power > Restart.
- Open Store, select the profile icon, and confirm that the intended Microsoft account is signed in.
- Sign out and back in if the account, Library, purchases, or family settings look wrong.
Restarting is especially important after a Windows update; Microsoft notes that a restart may be required before Store apps can be installed. Store browsing does not necessarily require an account, but ownership, authorization, personalized content, and Library operations do.
Fix 2: Reset the Microsoft Store cache
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
wsreset.exeand select OK. - Wait for the blank Command Prompt window to close. This normally takes about 10 seconds; allow at least 30 seconds before assuming it has stalled.
- Microsoft Store should open automatically. Test the page again.
The blank window is expected. wsreset.exe clears Store cache; it does not repair every account, policy, compatibility, registration, or service problem. Microsoft documents it at this Store troubleshooting page and this Store launch guide.

Fix 3: Repair, then reset Microsoft Store
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for Microsoft Store.
- Select its three-dot menu, then Advanced options.
- Select Repair, reopen Store, and test.
- If the problem remains, return to the same screen and select Reset. Reopen Store and sign in again if requested.
| Option | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Repair | Try first; it attempts to fix the app without affecting its data. |
| Reset | A stronger local reset; it may clear app-specific state or require sign-in again. |
| PowerShell uninstall | Do not use as a routine fix. Microsoft says removing or reinstalling Store is unsupported. |

Fix 4: Update Windows and Microsoft Store
Install Windows updates
- Open Start > Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates and restart when prompted.
Update Store itself
- Open Microsoft Store.
- Select Library.
- Select Get updates and allow Store updates to finish.
- Restart Store.
If Store cannot reach Library, skip that part temporarily and use Windows Update, Repair/Reset, or the WinGet workaround below. Microsoft includes both Windows and Store updates in its first-line guidance: Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.
Fix 5: Check time, region, account, and app availability
- Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
- Enable Set time automatically and select Sync now if shown.
- Open Time & language > Language & region and confirm the country or region is correct.
- Restart Store and test the listing again.
Do not change region merely to bypass catalog restrictions. Region changes can affect availability, purchases, subscriptions, and previously acquired content. A page may legitimately be unavailable because of country restrictions, family safety, delisting, device or Windows-version incompatibility, a wrong account, device authorization, or a recent update awaiting restart. Microsoft explains these cases at I can’t find or install an app from Microsoft Store.
Fix 6: Test VPN, proxy, firewall, and another network
- Disconnect from any VPN and test Store again.
- Connect to a phone hotspot. If the page works there, the original network is the leading suspect.
- Check Settings > Network & internet > Proxy for an unexpected manual proxy.
- Review router, DNS-filtering, firewall, and captive-portal controls.
- Do not permanently disable security software; use a controlled test or consult its administrator.
Microsoft says Store downloads and updates require access to specific endpoints that firewalls and proxies can block: Troubleshooting Microsoft Store apps download failure. On a work or school PC, an administrator may have applied the RemoveWindowsStore policy. Do not bypass organizational controls.

Advanced fix: Check and re-register the existing Store package
Use this only after the normal fixes. It registers an existing package; it is not an uninstall or reinstall.
Check the current user
Open PowerShell normally, without elevation, and run:
Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore*
Package details such as name, version, installation location, and status indicate that Store is registered for that user.
Check whether the package exists for all users
If the first command returns nothing, open PowerShell as administrator only for this check:
Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore* -AllUsers
Register the package for the affected user
Close the elevated window, open ordinary PowerShell in the affected account, and run:
Add-AppxPackage -RegisterByFamilyName -MainPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe
Microsoft warns that running the registration command elevated can register Store for the administrator instead of the ordinary user. Its procedure is documented at Troubleshooting Microsoft Store apps download failure.

If only the graphical Store interface is failing, Windows Package Manager may still install an available package:

- Open PowerShell or Windows Terminal.
- Search and verify the result:
winget search "app name" - Confirm the package name, publisher, and source, then install:
winget install "app name"
WinGet is a workaround, not a repair for Store pages. It depends on App Installer and its configured sources, and it cannot install every Store app. Prefer the publisher’s official Windows installer when one is available. Microsoft documents commands and availability at Windows Package Manager documentation.
When the problem is probably Microsoft’s or the publisher’s side
- One listing fails on multiple devices and networks.
- Every Store page fails for multiple Windows accounts and on more than one network.
- The issue began immediately after an update and affects other devices as well.
- The publisher’s page or catalog entry is missing, restricted, or incompatible.
In these cases, repeated cache resets or Windows resets are unlikely to help. Contact Microsoft Support through Microsoft’s Store troubleshooting page, or contact the publisher for a delisted or incompatible product.
What not to do
- Do not run random PowerShell scripts that remove Microsoft Store.
- Do not download unofficial Store packages, registry cleaners, or “PC repair” utilities.
- Do not permanently disable antivirus, firewall, or other security controls.
- Do not change region to evade catalog or purchase restrictions.
- Do not reset Windows before testing the Store-specific fixes above.
Microsoft explicitly says uninstalling or reinstalling Microsoft Store is unsupported: Cannot remove, uninstall, or reinstall Microsoft Store app.
