One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchAn OBS reconnect loop is a symptom, not proof that Tata Play Fiber is at fault. OBS identifies dropped frames and intermittent disconnections as signs of an unstable connection between your computer and the streaming service’s ingest server. Work through the checks below one at a time to find whether the problem is OBS or YouTube settings, your local network, or the connection beyond your home.
First, identify what is dropping
Before changing settings, record the time of a disconnect and open OBS’s View → Stats window. Note whether the network-dropped-frames count rises when the stream reconnects, and whether other internet activity on the same computer stalls at the same time. Save the OBS log for that streaming session.

OBS sends your stream directly from your computer to the service; it does not route it through an OBS-operated streaming server. A problem could therefore be on the computer or home network, along the ISP route, or at the ingest end. A rising dropped-frames count is useful evidence, but it does not identify which part of that path is responsible. OBS’s connection troubleshooting guide explains the symptom and recommended tests.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Check YouTube and OBS before changing your network
- Verify the stream key. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and check that the stream key selected there matches the one entered in OBS. If you changed the key in YouTube, update it in OBS too. Keep the key private.
- Check encoder output and status. Make sure OBS is current, then inspect the stream preview and audio in OBS. Check YouTube’s live dashboard for reported stream errors. YouTube’s live-streaming troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the encoder and key, then investigating the outbound internet connection if the output is healthy.
- Separate an encoder problem from a connection problem. If the picture or sound is wrong before it reaches YouTube, address the OBS scene, source, or encoder settings. If OBS shows healthy output but the stream drops, continue with the network comparisons below.
Test OBS network settings one at a time
Change one setting, stream long enough to compare with the previous behavior, and record the result. Changing several settings at once makes it difficult to tell what helped.

Lower the video bitrate temporarily
OBS suggests using 75% of total upload speed as a starting point when troubleshooting dropped frames. This is a general diagnostic heuristic from OBS, not a guaranteed Tata Play Fiber threshold or a YouTube-specific maximum. Use a reliable upload-speed result as a reference, then reduce the video bitrate in OBS and check whether network-dropped frames and reconnects decline. Leave headroom for audio and other traffic rather than treating the entire upload result as available to the stream.
Try another available ingest server
If OBS offers another server or ingest choice for the service, test it without changing the bitrate or other settings. A different result can point to a route or ingest-specific issue; it does not by itself prove a provider fault.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Restore default network binding, then test IPv4 only
- In OBS, open Settings → Advanced → Network and set Bind to IP to Default.
- If reconnects persist, test IP Family → IPv4 Only for a stream. Treat this as a diagnostic, not a permanent recommendation.
- If IPv4 Only makes no difference, restore the default IPv4-and-IPv6 behavior.
On Windows, test network optimizations and TCP pacing
OBS notes that some users report improvement with Enable network optimizations and Enable TCP pacing. Test these options individually on Windows and keep them only if your own comparison shows a benefit; they are not guaranteed fixes.
Use dynamic bitrate only as a fallback
Dynamic bitrate can lower stream quality automatically when congestion occurs, which may help avoid a disconnect while you investigate. It does not repair the underlying connection or explain why it is unstable.

- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
Compare Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and other local factors
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet. If you are streaming over Wi-Fi, test a wired connection to the router. A Cat6 Ethernet cable is one inexpensive way to make that comparison, but buying a cable is not a guaranteed fix. If Ethernet is stable while Wi-Fi is not, focus on the wireless link and interference.
- Check software that can affect traffic. OBS advises testing whether a VPN, security software, firewall, or bundled network-prioritization tool is interfering. Temporarily test suspected software only if safe to do so; restore your security protections afterward and add an OBS exception where appropriate.
- Restart network equipment. Restart the modem/router and repeat the same stream test.
- Check drivers and hardware after simpler tests. Update or investigate network drivers and local hardware if comparisons point to the computer or equipment. OBS recommends contacting the ISP before replacing hardware when you are uncertain.
What the results can tell you
| Comparison | If the stream improves in one case | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi versus Ethernet | Ethernet is stable, Wi-Fi reconnects | The wireless connection or interference is a stronger suspect than the full ISP path. |
| Current bitrate versus a temporarily lower bitrate | Lower bitrate reduces dropped frames | The available outbound capacity may be insufficient or variable at the original setting. |
| One ingest choice versus another | One choice is stable and another is not | The route or ingest path may differ; this does not establish a Tata Play Fiber-specific cause. |
| OBS output versus YouTube dashboard | OBS output looks healthy but YouTube reports trouble | Check the outbound connection and YouTube’s reported errors rather than assuming the encoder is the cause. |
| This computer versus another device or network | Only this computer or connection drops | The comparison narrows the likely location, but does not diagnose the cause by itself. |
Testing another streaming service can help establish whether the symptom is specific to one service, but OBS cautions that this will not resolve a connection problem specific to one service.
