If Nintendo Music downloads will not play offline, first confirm you are using the mobile app and downloaded the music while online. If you see support code 9009-2201 on Android or 9010-2101 on iOS, reconnect the app to the internet and leave it running for about 30 minutes. Android can run in the background; iOS must stay open in the foreground with the device awake.
Confirm offline playback is supported in your version
Nintendo Music supports offline listening in its mobile app when you download music in advance. The web version does not support offline playback. Fix expired downloads or support codes
Nintendo says downloads can expire after you have been offline for an extended period. Its support article, updated September 2, 2026, associates code 9009-2201 with Android and 9010-2101 with iOS. If only certain tracks will not play
- Connect the device to the internet.
- In Nintendo Music, play each track that fails offline.
- Disconnect from the internet and try those same tracks again.

Check the Android version 1.7 issue
Nintendo also warns that Android users may be unable to play downloaded tracks offline after updating to app version 1.7, even if they regularly connect to the internet. The stated attempt is the Android procedure above: connect, open the app, and leave it running for around 30 minutes. This advice is specific to the version issue Nintendo documents; the support article may change as the app is updated.

When to contact Nintendo
If the relevant steps do not restore offline playback, contact Nintendo Music Support. Nintendo’s cited instructions do not recommend reinstalling the app, clearing its cache, changing storage settings, or buying hardware as fixes, so those actions should not be treated as established solutions.
