Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf a GTA Online Halloween activity will not start, first check that the specific activity is available now, then return to Freemode and try launching it without another job or mode active. Check Rockstar’s service status if the problem persists. Only troubleshoot your network if you are also seeing connection or session errors; these steps can help diagnose access problems, but they are not a confirmed fix for a missing Halloween event or marker.
Identify what “Halloween mission” means
GTA Online’s Halloween content can refer to different kinds of activities, and they may have different schedules and launch points. Pin down what you selected before changing settings:

- Adversary Mode or Survival: an activity launched as a job or mode.
- Weekly challenge: an objective that asks you to complete a particular activity; the challenge itself may not be a separate mission.
- Freemode encounter: an event or marker encountered while exploring Freemode.
Note the activity’s exact name, where you tried to launch it, and any alert text. Those details help distinguish an unavailable activity from a launch failure.

Check whether it is available now
Seasonal events and weekly challenges have limited availability. Rockstar’s 2025 update notes list Halloween content from October 2 through November 6, 2025, and a Slasher variant from October 16 through November 6. Those are historical dates, not confirmation that the same content or schedule applies in 2026.
#1 Best Overall
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
A community weekly-update post published September 30, 2026 reports October challenges involving Survival and Adversary Mode, but it is not an official Rockstar schedule: October 1–8 weekly bonuses and discounts. Confirm the activity in the game’s current menus or event information rather than relying on last year’s dates or an old marker.
Retry from a clean game state
- Leave any active job, Survival, or other mode and return to Freemode.
- Open the activity from its usual in-game menu or go to its normal launch location.
- Try again and record the exact wording of any “feature is not available” alert.
Rockstar says a feature-unavailable alert can mean the feature is temporarily offline or restricted, or that it conflicts with another activity, mode, game version, or in-game media. See Rockstar’s explanation of the alert. The alert’s wording and what you were doing when it appeared are useful clues; it does not by itself establish a Halloween-specific bug.

Match the next check to the symptom
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| The activity or marker is missing | Verify that the specific activity is currently available. A network change is not an established way to make an out-of-window activity appear. |
| An alert says the feature is unavailable | Return to Freemode, close out of conflicting activity or media, and retry. Note the exact alert in case it persists. |
| Other online activities also fail, or you see session or connection errors | Check Rockstar’s service status, then use the connection guidance for your platform if needed. |
| The activity is available and other activities work, but this one still will not launch | Contact Rockstar Support with the activity name, platform, game version, time and timezone, lobby type, and exact error text. |
Check Rockstar service status
Use the Rockstar Games Service Status page when the failure occurs. A captured status showed GTA Online operational on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC at 1:20 a.m. UTC on September 26, 2026. That is a timestamped snapshot, not a guarantee about service at another time; check the page again while troubleshooting.

If you also have session or network errors, follow Rockstar’s platform-specific instructions: PC connection troubleshooting, PS4 connection troubleshooting, or Xbox One connection troubleshooting. Rockstar’s PC guidance includes checking internet and service availability, restarting the game client, and investigating connection setup; its console pages cover connection, cache, and network settings. Follow the page for your platform rather than applying unrelated fixes.
