Compare the apps listed with what you actually used. An app with unusually high use may need updating, limits on background activity, or removal if you do not need it.
Battery use can have more than one cause. Samsung’s troubleshooting information includes app activity, network conditions, and battery condition among factors to consider; rapid drain after an update alone does not establish that the update is defective. In Battery settings, review Background usage limits. You can consider putting infrequently used apps to sleep. Deep sleeping apps do not run in the background and work only when opened manually, so they may not deliver notifications or perform background tasks as expected.
Check signal and recent background work
Weak or unstable mobile signal, 5G use, and heavy restoration or background activity can increase power use. Treat these as things to check rather than evidence of an update fault. Samsung notes that settings and screens can differ by carrier, model, and software version.
Restart, then test in Safe mode
Restart the phone
Restarting is one of Samsung’s general troubleshooting steps. After it starts again, use the phone normally and check whether battery use improves.

Use Safe mode to check for downloaded-app involvement
Safe mode disables downloaded apps, which helps distinguish app-related problems from issues that persist without those apps. Follow Samsung’s instructions for starting a Galaxy phone in Safe mode; the exact steps or labels may depend on the device.
