Review your transaction history and allow up to two hours for purchases made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung devices to appear. If the purchase is still missing, contact the store that processed the payment.
Start with the account and platform used for the purchase
- Restart Fortnite. This refreshes the displayed V-Bucks balance, which may not update immediately.
- Sign in on the purchase platform. Online V-Bucks are added when you sign in to Fortnite on the same platform where you bought them. For example, sign in on PlayStation for a PlayStation purchase. V-Bucks purchases do not come with a redemption code and cannot be gifted to another account. See Epic’s missing V-Bucks troubleshooting steps.
- Confirm the Epic account. Check that the Epic Games account ID associated with the purchase is the one used by the Fortnite profile you are checking. Being on the right console profile alone does not guarantee you are using the right Epic account.
Allow time for a console or Samsung purchase to appear
Epic says purchases made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung devices can take up to two hours to appear. This is the stated window for those purchase types, not a general guarantee for every transaction. Also verify the console’s date, time, and time zone. Epic’s console purchase guidance has the platform-specific details.

Check whether the payment completed
Open Epic’s Transaction History and look for the purchase. If there is no transaction record, check with your bank or payment provider before trying to buy the item or V-Bucks again; otherwise, you could pay twice. If a transaction does appear, keep its order details available when you contact support.

Check where your V-Bucks balance is displayed
V-Bucks balances can be subject to platform restrictions: some V-Bucks can be used only on a specified platform, while others can be used across platforms. Check the balance on the platform where you made the purchase and review the V-Bucks balance sections on your Epic account. Epic explains these wallet differences in its missing V-Bucks article and V-Bucks balance guidance.

Contact the seller that processed the payment
For purchases made through PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo, contact that platform’s support. Epic says it cannot investigate or refund purchases made through those platforms. For an Epic Games Store purchase that remains missing after the checks above, submit an Epic support request with the order number, amount, and platform you play on.
If the problem is not a missing completed purchase
The PlayStation Item Shop or Buy V-Bucks screen is blank
A blank screen can be a license or cache issue rather than a missing purchase. Epic points to PlayStation’s guidance for restoring licenses and using Safe Mode to clear the cache or rebuild the database. Follow Epic’s PlayStation troubleshooting article and its linked PlayStation instructions rather than guessing at menu steps.

The Fortnite Web Shop balance looks wrong
Use the Refresh control next to the balance, then select “Sync Now.” This addresses a Web Shop display mismatch; it does not replace checking the purchase platform, Epic account, and transaction record.
An Item Shop listing appears but cannot be purchased
A listing may remain searchable after it is no longer available. Check the item’s end date. The Item Shop rotates, and an item may return later; a visible listing by itself does not confirm a completed purchase.

You received the item but want to return it
Returns are separate from troubleshooting a missing purchase. Epic says Cancel Purchase is available for most eligible cosmetics within 24 hours if the item has not been used or equipped. Eligible purchases made within the last 30 days may qualify for a Return Ticket. A return removes the item and returns its V-Bucks; it does not make a missing purchase appear.
