If Fortnite Festival songs or tracks will not load, first check Epic Games Public Status for a current Fortnite Festival or matchmaking incident. If there is no reported issue and the problem is the Main Stage “Media Streaming Error,” Epic recommends fully closing and relaunching Fortnite, testing Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, entering another mode and returning to Festival, trying public DNS, and restarting your modem or router. The right next step depends on whether one track, all tracks, or the whole Main Stage session is affected.
First, identify what is not loading
Jam Tracks are music items that Epic says can be used across multiple Fortnite experiences. A missing selection is not necessarily the same problem as being disconnected from Main Stage with a “Media Streaming Error.” The official troubleshooting article addresses that specific disconnection, not every possible missing-track symptom.

- One track or selection: Note whether other tracks load and whether the unavailable item is limited to a particular selection. The reviewed official support guidance does not establish a universal cause or fix for a single unavailable track.
- All tracks or the Main Stage session: Check Epic’s status page, then follow the steps below if there is no relevant incident and you see the named media-streaming error.
- Pro Lead or Pro Bass parts missing: Epic says these parts are visible and selectable only when a guitar controller is connected. This is a control requirement, not a fix for streaming failures.
Check whether Fortnite Festival is having an outage
Visit Epic Games Public Status and look for Fortnite Festival, matchmaking, or a related Fortnite incident. The status page is live and can change; when it was checked for this article, Fortnite Festival and Festival matchmaking were marked operational, with no incidents listed for October 3, 2026. That dated snapshot does not establish the status of your current session.

If Epic reports an incident affecting Festival or matchmaking, local troubleshooting may not resolve it. Check the status page again later. If no incident is listed, continue with the connection and session checks below.

Fix the Main Stage “Media Streaming Error”
Epic’s Fortnite Festival Main Stage Media Streaming Error support article recommends these steps. Try them in order; none is guaranteed to fix every track-loading symptom.
- Fully close Fortnite and relaunch it. Exit the game rather than simply leaving the Festival lobby, then start it again and test Main Stage.
- Test Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi. If you have a suitable cable, connect your device to the router by Ethernet and try again. This is a connection test, not a promise that a cable will fix the issue.
- Enter a different Fortnite mode, then return to Festival. Launch another mode, switch back to Festival, and check whether Main Stage loads.
- Try a public DNS server using Epic’s platform-specific instructions. Use Epic’s DNS instructions for your platform. The available official guidance links to platform-specific steps; follow the current directions for your device rather than relying on a menu path from another platform.
- Restart your modem or router. Restart the network equipment you already use, then reconnect and test Festival again.
- If the error persists, submit an in-game bug report. Epic asks affected players to report the issue using its instructions for submitting a Fortnite bug report in-game.

- Only one selection fails: Check whether other Jam Tracks load and whether the issue follows that selection. The official Main Stage error steps may not explain a single unavailable track.
- Several tracks fail, but other Fortnite modes work: Try Epic’s Main Stage troubleshooting steps and check Festival status.
- Other online services also have connection trouble: Test your network connection and restart your existing modem or router as Epic recommends for the named error.
- Multiple players or Fortnite services are affected: Check Epic’s live status and known-issues information before changing local settings or buying equipment.
