Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →There is no single FFmpeg flag that reliably fixes audio cutting out in a 24/7 Tamil music stream. First identify whether the silence is already in a source file, appears at song transitions, follows an FFmpeg input or output error, or coincides with a YouTube Live health warning. Then fix that layer. Without your command, FFmpeg version, media files and logs, the cause cannot be determined in advance.
Find where the audio dropout starts
Before changing encoder settings, compare what you hear at each stage. Note the exact time of a dropout and whether it happens during a song, at a transition, or after the stream has run for a while. That timing is often more useful than changing several settings at once.

Listen to the source files and transitions
- Play the affected audio file locally, including the moments immediately before and after the silence. If the gap is present there, replace or repair that source; changing FFmpeg’s streaming options will not restore audio that is absent from the file.
- If dropouts line up with song changes, inspect the playlist assembly and the audio streams in the files on either side of the transition. Check whether the files actually contain the expected audio tracks.
- If possible, record or monitor the encoded output locally. If the local encoded output is clean while the YouTube broadcast is silent, investigate the output connection and YouTube ingestion rather than editing the source first.
No particular Tamil playlist format, concat command or transition method can be prescribed without knowing how your playlist is built and what the media files contain. Tamil is the music language; it does not require a special FFmpeg transport setting.
Save FFmpeg evidence before changing settings
Keep a copy of the complete command, the installed FFmpeg version and build, timestamped stderr output, and the time of each observed dropout. Look for input read failures, decode warnings, timestamp problems, output write errors and process restarts. Change one relevant setting at a time so you can tell whether it affected the failure.

Check YouTube Live health messages
Read the stream messages in YouTube Live Control Room and inspect the Live Streaming API health status if your setup uses the API. Audio-related warnings can identify an unsupported codec, incorrect sample rate, too many channels, bitrate problems or multiple audio streams. A video-ingestion starvation warning means YouTube is not receiving enough video; by itself, it does not establish that the audio source is faulty.
A health warning is evidence about configuration or ingestion, not proof of a particular cause in your media. Match the wording of the warning to the stream properties and logs before changing the command.

Verify the audio configuration YouTube receives
For RTMP or RTMPS live input, YouTube’s general guidance lists AAC or MP3 as supported audio codecs. Its live encoder settings recommend the following audio values:
| Audio configuration | Sample rate | Bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| Stereo | 44.1 kHz | 128 kbps |
| 5.1 surround | 48 kHz | 384 kbps |
YouTube’s Live Streaming API also identifies 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz as recommended audio sample rates and describes checks for one or two audio channels. For 5.1 over RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube recommends AAC. These are configuration recommendations, not guarantees against dropouts.
Check the actual output, not just the command you intended to run
- Confirm the encoded output uses a supported audio codec and the intended sample rate, channel count and bitrate.
- If an input has multiple audio tracks, map the intended track explicitly and make sure the output does not unintentionally contain multiple audio streams.
- Compare the output properties with the warning shown in YouTube Live. Do not transcode automatically if the silence is already in the source or the actual failure is an output disconnect.
YouTube’s live encoder guidance also recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, with intervals not exceeding four seconds. These are stream-configuration recommendations, not measurements of dropout rates or promises of uninterrupted playback.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Choose recovery settings for the failing side of the stream
Input reconnection and output recovery address different failures. An option that retries a read from a source does not, on its own, reconnect a failed stream output to YouTube.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhen the input read is failing
FFmpeg’s HTTP protocol options include retries for input reads after EOF, network errors, selected HTTP errors and failures on streamed or non-seekable inputs. These may be relevant when FFmpeg is reading a network source and its logs show an input-side failure. Confirm that an option exists in your installed build and test its behavior with the actual input; input retry options cannot repair a local file with a gap or guarantee recovery of an RTMP/RTMPS output.
When writing to YouTube is failing
FFmpeg’s FIFO muxer is an output-side recovery option. It separates encoding from muxing into another thread and can retry output after selected failures. It is not a universal fix: test the configuration with your FFmpeg build and observe whether YouTube accepts the stream after reconnection.

Decide how the FIFO queue should behave if it fills. Blocking the encoder preserves packets but can stall forward progress while the output is unavailable. Dropping packets lets the encoder continue but means content can be missing. There is no universally best choice: weigh the observed failure, audio loss during recovery and the operational complexity of the configuration.
Preflight a continuous stream and monitor it
- Test representative material. Include typical Tamil tracks and song transitions rather than checking only a short, clean sample. YouTube Help advises testing before starting a live stream and recommends monitoring stream health and messages during the event.
- Check upload capacity. Make sure the connection can reliably carry the selected stream. A speed test can check available capacity at that moment; it cannot prove the connection will remain uninterrupted.
- Watch both logs and YouTube health. During a representative test, note process restarts, read or write errors, health messages and any timing pattern in the audio dropout.
- Plan for unattended operation. For a 24/7 process, monitor process uptime, restart behavior, disk and log growth, source availability and alerting. These are useful operational safeguards, not specific YouTube requirements.
Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you observe | Likely layer to inspect | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| The same gap is audible in the local source file. | Source media | Repair or replace the file; do not expect an encoder flag to recreate missing audio. |
| Silence occurs at the same song changes. | Playlist or media transition | Inspect the files and how the playlist is assembled, including the audio streams on both sides of the transition. |
| FFmpeg logs input read failures or decode warnings. | Input or decoding | Check the source and relevant read/decode errors; use input retries only when the failure is an input read problem and the installed build supports the needed option. |
| YouTube reports an audio codec, sample-rate, channel-count, bitrate or multiple-stream warning. | Audio configuration | Compare the actual output properties and selected audio stream with the warning, then correct the mismatched setting. |
| FFmpeg logs output write errors or the YouTube connection drops. | Network or output | Investigate the output connection. Consider a tested output recovery strategy such as FIFO; input retry options are not an output fix. |
| YouTube reports video ingestion starvation. | Video delivery | Investigate whether enough video is reaching YouTube. This warning alone does not show that the audio track itself is defective. |
| The problem is intermittent and no layer is clear. | Not yet established | Capture the command, version, timestamped logs, dropout times, a local source/output comparison and YouTube health messages before changing multiple settings. |
Copyright and permission are separate from audio troubleshooting
Correct codec and streaming settings do not establish that you have permission to broadcast the music. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for the tracks and for continuous live use. Technical configuration alone cannot settle licensing or YouTube policy questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tamil audio need a special FFmpeg setting?
No. Tamil is the language of the content, not a special transport setting; investigate the source, playlist, audio stream configuration, output and YouTube health messages.
Can YouTube’s health panel prove that my source file is bad?
No. Its messages can point to ingestion or configuration issues, but compare them with the media and FFmpeg logs to locate the cause.
