If a Denuvo-protected game reports an activation limit after you changed hardware or reinstalled Windows, first connect the PC to the internet and launch the game once. A revalidation request is not automatically evidence of account theft, a defective key or a permanently lost entitlement. It can simply mean that the title wants to verify the installation after a material system change. First determine whether the message appears only offline, only after a patch, or on every launch. That distinction gives support useful context without requiring you to guess at the underlying server record.

Because the limits can differ, support staff need the exact title, edition and store account rather than a general statement that Denuvo is full. Even two games sold by the same publisher can have different wording, release-era terms or support instructions. Check the EULA attached to your edition and the current help page for that product.
The phrase five computers in 24 hours also needs careful reading. In the Ubisoft example, the document refers to five distinct computers during a 24-hour period. EA’s 2018 terms describe five unique machines in a rolling 24-hour period. Neither clause says that every launch uses one slot, nor does either clause prove what a different publisher’s server will count as a new machine.

1. Capture the exact error before changing anything

5. Check ordinary account and client conditions
- Install pending updates for the storefront client and the game through the store’s normal update mechanism.
- Use the store’s built-in file verification option if the game client offers one; this repairs damaged game files without attempting to alter DRM data.
- Temporarily remove avoidable network obstacles such as a disconnected connection or a sign-in session that has expired, then retry the one online launch.
- Do not run multiple launchers under different accounts while troubleshooting; record which account and launcher produced the error.

- Windows reinstall date or the date and nature of the hardware change.

Some terms count distinct computers within a time window rather than simply counting every launch. The Ubisoft example specifies five distinct computers in 24 hours, while the EA example specifies five unique machines in a rolling 24-hour period. The wording matters: a rolling period is calculated continuously from recent activations, and distinct or unique refers to how that publisher identifies machines.

Neither example tells you exactly which component change will count as a new machine for another title. Replacing a drive, motherboard or several components may cause a revalidation request, but there is no supported checklist that predicts the result for all games. Report the actual change to support instead of trying to simulate different hardware combinations. Include whether the old drive was cloned, whether the motherboard was replaced, and whether the operating system was reinstalled, because those facts help support reproduce the event.
