First, identify what is going wrong
“Crashes,” “stuttering,” and “low FPS” describe different symptoms. Record exactly what happens before changing settings; a repeatable crash at a cutscene, for example, is useful evidence, not proof that the cutscene itself is the cause.

- Crash to desktop: the game closes, with or without an error dialog. Write down the exact error text or code, including “Error 01” if that is what appears.
- Hard freeze: the whole PC stops responding or requires a restart. Note whether audio continues and whether the problem occurs outside the game too.
- Repeatable mission or cutscene crash: record the mission, scene, and action immediately before the failure. Players have described crashes during the helicopter flyover in the first cutscene, but reports like this do not establish a shared cause.
- Stuttering: brief interruptions or uneven frame pacing despite the game continuing to run. Note whether it happens continuously or only in a particular scene.
- Low FPS: a consistently low frame rate rather than intermittent hitches. Record the resolution, upscaling choice, graphics preset, and approximate FPS.
For any symptom, collect your CPU and GPU models, graphics-driver version, RAM amount, Windows version, installation drive and available space, display resolution, graphics settings, and the exact error text. Project Aces asks affected players to provide the error code, how the crash occurs, and PC specifications.
Check your PC against the published requirements
Bandai Namco’s current PC requirements specify Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, an SSD, hardware ray tracing, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher. The graphics and memory targets differ between minimum and recommended configurations:

These specifications are not a guarantee that every system at or above the minimum will run smoothly. Steam estimates 1080p with upscaling at 30 fps on Low for minimum hardware and 1080p with upscaling at 60 fps on Medium for recommended hardware; Steam also warns that frame rates can drop in graphics-intensive scenes. These are store estimates, not independent benchmark results. Check the [Steam listing] for the current details applicable to your version and region, and compare your components with [Bandai Namco’s PC requirements].
Resolve the conflicting storage figures
Bandai Namco’s requirements page lists 125 GB free, while Steam’s listing gives 150 GB. The official crash notice separately recommends at least 16 GB free on the SSD where the game is installed. These figures serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable: check the live store listing for your region and game version, and keep the crash notice’s free-space recommendation in mind. The game requires an SSD.

Run the official crash checks
Bandai Namco’s reproduced support notice recommends three checks for players experiencing crashes. Start here before trying community launch options, driver rollbacks, or system-level changes.

- Check free space on the installation SSD. The support notice recommends at least 16 GB free on that drive. Also verify the current storage requirement for your game version in the live store listing.
- Confirm Windows virtual memory is enabled. The official notice identifies this as a check but does not prescribe a custom virtual-memory size.
Project Aces said in its official Steam request, reproduced in a [crash-report thread], “We are actively working to resolve the game crashes issues that some of our players are currently experiencing.” The notice requests the error code, circumstances of the crash, and PC specifications; it does not announce a universal Error 01 fix.

The official sources provide system requirements and the general support checks above, but no validated title-specific sequence for fixing stutter or low frame rates. If the game launches and remains playable, you can use reversible graphics-setting changes as a diagnostic experiment—not as a proven fix.
- Note your current resolution, upscaling option, graphics preset, and approximate FPS or the situation in which a hitch occurs.
- Change one graphics setting at a time, then revisit the same scene or comparable gameplay situation.
- Record whether the symptom changes before trying another adjustment. Changing several options at once makes it harder to tell which, if any, mattered.
Do not infer a general fix from a single scene or another player’s report. The Steam performance figures are estimates and explicitly allow for drops in graphics-intensive scenes.

When the problem persists, send a useful report
If the official checks do not resolve a crash—or if you can reliably reproduce a crash, freeze, or other failure—send the details through Bandai Namco’s official support channels. Include:

- The exact error code or message, or state that there was no dialog.
- What you were doing and where the failure occurred, including steps that reliably reproduce it.
- Your CPU, GPU, graphics-driver version, RAM, and Windows version.
- The installation drive, its available space, display resolution, and graphics settings.
- Whether the issue is a crash to desktop, hard freeze, scene-specific crash, stutter, or sustained low FPS.
Community reports mention mixed results with driver rollbacks, frame caps, and launch options; they are anecdotes rather than verified fixes, and a change that helps one player may fail for another. Avoid registry edits, disabling system security, or unstable overclocking and underclocking: the official guidance cited here does not validate those steps.
