How to fix controller, audio, and performance problems in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destru

There are no confirmed, game-specific fixes yet. The PC version of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destru is still marked “Coming soon” on Steam, while Nintendo’s US listing gives the Switch release date as February 4, 2027. The official listings provide platform details, minimum PC requirements and play modes, but do not document controller failures, audio defects, frame-rate problems, patches or diagnostic procedures.

Use the steps below as a launch-preparation and troubleshooting guide. Windows, Steam and Switch checks are standard platform advice unless a step is explicitly identified as confirmed for this game. Recheck the official store pages and support channels after release because dates, requirements and fixes can change.

What is known before launch

Steam currently lists the game as unavailable and “Coming soon.” That means nobody can honestly promise that a particular controller setting, driver change or graphics adjustment fixes a problem in the released build. Nintendo’s US store listing identifies a Switch launch date of February 4, 2027; release dates can change, so verify the listing near purchase or download.

The available official information establishes supported play arrangements, not fault reports. Steam describes shared or split-screen co-op and says two-player PC play requires at least one controller. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop and handheld modes, with one or two players on a single Switch system. Nintendo also says behavior on Switch 2 is consistent with Switch. Neither listing supplies a game-specific recovery sequence for input, sound or performance.

Logitech G F310 Wired Gamepad Controller Console - Blue/Black | Console-like layout, 4-switch D-pad
  • With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
  • Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
  • A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
  • The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.

Choose the correct platform checklist

Platform Published play information What the listing does not establish
Windows PC (Steam) Shared or split-screen co-op; at least one controller required for two-player play Supported controller models, Steam Input configuration, frame-rate target, graphics presets or fault-specific fixes
Nintendo Switch TV, tabletop and handheld modes; one or two players on one system Fault-specific diagnostics, performance targets or controller remedies
Switch 2 Nintendo says behavior is consistent with Switch Any separate performance measurements or title-specific troubleshooting process

Do not apply Windows driver or Steam instructions to the console version. Conversely, a Switch setting cannot repair a Windows installation.

Check the published PC requirements

Steam’s minimum specification is the only PC performance baseline currently published:

Component Minimum listed requirement
Operating system Windows 7, Windows 8.x or Windows 10
Processor Intel Core i5
Memory 1 GB RAM
Graphics memory 1 GB VRAM
Graphics API DirectX 10
Storage 500 MB available space
Audio Any compatible soundcard

These are published minimums, not a guarantee of smooth play on every computer. They do not state a resolution, frame-rate goal, recommended specification, graphics preset or driver version. A computer meeting the list can still encounter an installation, compatibility or configuration issue, and a newer computer is not automatically immune.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How to interpret the numbers

The 500 MB figure describes the minimum free storage stated by Steam, not the amount of working room Windows and Steam may need during downloading, unpacking or updating. Keep additional space available instead of treating 500 MB as a safe target. Likewise, 1 GB of system memory and 1 GB of video memory are threshold figures; they do not indicate how much memory the game will use in a particular scene or whether background applications will affect play.

An “Intel Core i5” label also does not identify one exact processor generation. Compare your model with the published requirement, but do not turn the minimum into a promise of a specific frame rate. The same caution applies to DirectX 10: it identifies the listed graphics API baseline, not a recommended graphics setting or a guarantee that every modern driver configuration will behave identically.

8Bitdo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller for Windows PC and Android, with 1000 Hz Polling Rate, Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers, and Remappable L4/R4 Bumpers (Green)
  • Compatible with Windows and Android.
  • 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
  • Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
  • Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
  • Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.

Verify your computer without assuming a fix

  1. Press Win + R, enter dxdiag, and choose OK. The System and Display tabs show Windows, processor, memory, DirectX and graphics details.
  2. Open Settings > System > Storage and confirm that more than 500 MB is free on the drive used for the installation. Leave additional working space rather than treating the listed minimum as a target.
  3. In Settings > System > About, note the Windows edition and version. The Steam listing names Windows 7, 8.x and 10; it does not state support for later editions or provide a compatibility guarantee.
  4. Record the graphics adapter and its dedicated video memory from Settings > System > Display > Advanced display or dxdiag. Do not infer a required upgrade from the minimum list alone.
  5. Write down the exact hardware and operating-system details before reporting a problem. A support team can distinguish an installation issue from an audio or performance symptom only when those details accompany the report.

Controller problems on PC

The confirmed controller fact is limited: Steam requires at least one controller for two-player play. No model, layout, driver, remapping method or fix for an unrecognized device is named. A controller is therefore a setup requirement for local two-player PC play, not a guaranteed solution to an input fault.

Prepare before installing

  • Use a controller that Windows recognizes normally and connect it before starting the game. Compatibility with this title’s final build has not been documented for any particular brand or model.
  • For two players, have the required controller available and connect both devices before entering a local session. The listing does not say whether two identical devices, mixed devices or keyboard-plus-controller combinations are supported.
  • Disconnect unused gamepads, virtual controllers, wheels and other HID devices while testing. This is a general way to remove duplicate-input confusion, not a confirmed game fix.
  • Install Windows updates and the controller manufacturer’s current driver or firmware if the operating system itself cannot see the device. Do this only as ordinary platform maintenance; no game-specific driver requirement has been published.
  • If you are buying a gamepad for local co-op, treat it as an optional setup accessory. No particular model has verified compatibility, and purchasing one cannot be presented as a remedy for an unreported defect.

General Windows recognition check after launch

  1. Press Win + R, enter joy.cpl, and select OK. Confirm that the controller appears in Game Controllers, then open Properties and test its buttons and axes.
  2. If it does not appear, reconnect it directly to the PC instead of through a hub, try another USB port, or re-pair Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth & devices. These steps test Windows recognition only.
  3. Close the game and any other software that may claim the device. Reconnect one controller and start the game again. If the operating system test passes but the game does not respond, record the controller model, connection type and exact build before contacting official support.
  4. Check the game’s Steam properties for an official update. Do not enable or disable a particular input layer as though it were verified; the listing does not document Steam Input behavior for this title.
  5. Test one controller in a single-player or menu context before adding a second device. If the first device works and the second does not, record which device was player one, how each was connected and when the failure appeared.

Local co-op expectations

Steam’s wording supports shared or split-screen co-op and a controller requirement for two-player play. It does not promise online multiplayer, a specific player-one assignment, hot-plugging, vibration, remapping or support for a keyboard as one of the two inputs. If a co-op session fails, test with one recognized controller first, then add the second device and note which step changes the behavior.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not assume that a second controller will be detected after a session has already started. The listing gives no hot-plug guidance, so connecting both devices before launching the local session is a sensible test, not a confirmed requirement. Avoid changing several input layers, remapping tools and drivers at once; doing so makes it impossible to identify which change affected the result.

Audio problems

Steam lists “Any compatible soundcard” as the minimum audio requirement and indicates full English audio with interface and subtitle language availability. That describes compatibility and language features; it does not identify a missing-effects bug, a volume defect or a game-specific audio repair.

Standard Windows output check

  1. Right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and open Sound settings.
  2. Under Output, select the intended speakers, headset or monitor. If several devices are connected, temporarily disable or disconnect the ones you are not testing.
  3. Use the output device’s test control and check the Windows volume mixer. Make sure the game is not muted and that its volume is assigned to the selected device.
  4. Start the game again after changing the default output. If sound works elsewhere but not in the game, capture the selected device, connection type and whether menus, effects, dialogue or all audio are affected.
  5. Test a second output path only to isolate the system: for example, compare speakers with a headset. A result that changes with the output path points to configuration evidence, not proof of a title-specific bug.

These are ordinary operating-system checks. They are not evidence that the game has an audio defect or that changing a sample rate, spatial-audio mode or driver will solve one.

  • Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.

Language and subtitle distinction

The Steam listing’s language information should not be read as a promise that every language has spoken audio. It identifies full English audio and separately describes interface or subtitle language availability. Check the final store listing for the exact language matrix before changing settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If only dialogue, only effects or only menu sounds are missing, describe that distinction when contacting support. “No audio” and “one category of audio is absent” are different reports. Include whether the same output device works in other applications and whether the issue occurs in menus, gameplay or both.

Performance and stuttering problems on PC

No official benchmark, frame-rate target, graphics-options list or performance complaint is available. The 1 GB RAM, 1 GB VRAM, DirectX 10 and 500 MB storage figures are minimum requirements, not evidence of a particular frame rate. Do not claim that a graphics-card upgrade, driver rollback or low preset is required until the released build or official support documentation says so.

Safe first checks after release

  1. Confirm that the installation completed and that Steam has no pending update. A partially updated or corrupted installation should be addressed through the storefront’s standard file-verification option before changing hardware settings.
  2. Close recording tools, overlays and other demanding applications temporarily. Re-test with the same scene so that any change can be described accurately.
  3. Use the game’s own graphics options if they are provided. Change one setting at a time and record the original value, resolution, display mode and result. Do not assume an option exists before seeing it in the released build.
  4. Check Settings > System > Display > Advanced display for the active monitor and refresh rate. This confirms Windows configuration but does not establish the game’s frame-rate behavior.
  5. Watch for heat, power or memory warnings in the computer’s normal monitoring tools. A symptom that appears only after extended play may be a system issue rather than a title-specific defect.
  6. Restart after installing an official update and compare the same scene or activity. Record the version before and after; otherwise an apparent improvement cannot be tied to a particular build.

How to describe a performance fault

  • State whether the problem is a low frame rate, brief hitch, pause, crash, screen corruption or input delay; these are different symptoms.
  • Record the location or activity where it occurs, whether it is repeatable, and whether it affects single-player or local co-op.
  • Include Windows version, processor, graphics adapter and VRAM, RAM, display resolution, controller status and the game version.
  • Note whether changing a documented in-game option, restarting, or disconnecting a peripheral changes the result. A negative result is useful, but it is not a diagnosis.
  • Keep the test conditions consistent. Switching resolution, display mode, controller configuration and background applications simultaneously can hide the cause of a hitch or delay.

Switch troubleshooting boundaries

Nintendo documents TV, tabletop and handheld play, one- or two-player single-system play, and consistent behavior on Switch 2. It does not publish a controller, audio or performance fault procedure for this title. Use Nintendo’s normal system and software support process rather than Windows instructions.

General console checks

  • Confirm that the console has installed the latest available system and game update from the Home menu before testing again.
  • For TV mode, reseat the HDMI and power connections and verify that the television is using the correct input. For handheld or tabletop play, test with the console’s built-in speakers and screen to separate dock or television issues from game behavior.
  • Test one player first, then add the second controller. This isolates a local multiplayer setup issue without implying that the game has a known co-op defect.
  • If audio fails only through a television, headset or receiver, test another output path and record which path works. If performance changes between TV, tabletop and handheld modes, report the mode and console model.
  • Do not transfer PC assumptions about DirectX, VRAM, Steam Input or Windows drivers to Switch. The Nintendo listing supplies play modes and compatibility information, not equivalent PC specifications.

PC versus Switch: which setup fits?

Question Windows PC Switch

Performance comparison The official listings provide no frame-rate, latency or comparative performance measurements

Choose based on the play mode and hardware you already have, not on an unsupported assumption that one platform will run faster or respond more quickly. PC offers the published Windows specification and Steam’s shared or split-screen description; Switch offers TV, tabletop and handheld modes and one-system play for one or two people. Those are documented differences, while comparative smoothness and controller latency are not.

Launch-day preparation checklist

  1. Recheck the Steam listing for availability, updated requirements and any newly posted support information.
  2. Recheck Nintendo’s US listing because the February 4, 2027 date may change.
  3. On PC, confirm storage, Windows details, DirectX information and controller recognition before starting a co-op session.
  4. On Switch, decide whether you will test TV, tabletop or handheld mode and have the intended controllers charged and paired.
  5. Keep notes of the game version, platform mode, output device and exact symptom. This prevents a general platform problem from being reported as an unverified game defect.

When to seek an official fix

After release, check the developer or publisher’s official support page, Steam announcements and Nintendo update information for confirmed fixes. Include reproducible steps and the system details above. Avoid downloading unofficial “fix” files or changing drivers solely because a forum post claims a solution; no verified game-specific workaround is currently documented.

If the official listings change the release date, requirements, supported modes or controller guidance, treat the newest listing as authoritative. The current evidence supports preparation and careful diagnosis, not a promise that any particular controller, audio or performance symptom already has a known repair.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: This is a pre-release preparation guide, not a list of proven patches. Steam currently shows the PC version as “Coming soon,” and Nintendo lists February 4, 2027 for Switch. Confirm your platform’s published requirements and play mode, test controllers and audio through normal system checks after launch, and rely on official updates for any title-specific fix.
