In Windows, open Settings > Windows Update, select Check for updates, install available updates, and restart when prompted. If Windows reports that it is current, note the installed version rather than repeatedly forcing the check.
This is a compatibility check, not proof that an update will make Tales of Eternia Remastered run. Do not remove system components or use unofficial “gaming” update packages as a substitute for Windows Update. A restart matters because some updates do not become active until Windows has rebooted.

3. Verify the Steam installation
File verification checks whether Steam’s local installation matches the files it expects. In the Steam client:

The Japanese page explicitly supports Windows 10 and Windows 11, whereas Steam’s current display emphasizes Windows 11 and then mentions Windows 10 version 1809 or later in its recommended notes. Check both the edition and build number. If your PC is on an older Windows 10 build, update it before treating the operating system as compatible.
The storage entries also answer different questions. “HDD” describes the type of drive named by the Japanese specification; “8 GB available storage” describes capacity shown by Steam. Check graphics memory and API eligibility
The Steam recommended notes mention a 4 GB VRAM graphics card for DirectX 12. Compare your card’s dedicated VRAM and DirectX support with that note. A machine can meet the 4 GB system-memory line while still falling short on graphics memory or graphics capability.
Account for temporary variation
The Japanese product site says frame rate may temporarily change according to the play situation and environment.
