Start by noting your Vivo model, region, OriginOS build number, the affected app or feature, and when the problem began. Those details matter: Vivo says OriginOS features can vary by model and system version, and some depend on app compatibility and region. A symptom after an update is not, by itself, proof of a system-wide defect.
First, work out what kind of problem you have
Compare the symptom with how the phone behaves normally and whether it affects one app or the whole device. A brief period of warmth or higher battery use after upgrading can come from system work; a high-temperature warning, shutdown, or a fault that continues needs a different response.

- Temporary or persistent: Note whether the issue began immediately after updating and whether it is improving.
- One app or system-wide: Check whether other apps and core functions behave normally.
- Mild warmth or serious heat: Mild warmth is different from a warning, shutdown, or a device too hot to handle.
Vivo’s [OriginOS information] says availability varies by device and system version. Some multitasking features also depend on compatible apps and region, so a missing feature is not necessarily an update failure.

After an OriginOS upgrade, the phone may adapt apps, optimize background performance, organize files, and run security scans. Vivo says that work can temporarily raise power use and heat. The official guidance describes a short-term optimization period but does not set a universal number of hours or days.

- Let the phone finish its work. If it is only mildly warm and otherwise functioning normally, connect it to a reliable charger overnight with the screen off.
- Update installed apps. Older app versions may not work well with the new Android version. Update the affected apps through their official distribution channel.
- Check battery use by app. Open Settings > Battery > App Power Consumption Ranking, if available. If an app you are not using is consuming unusually high power, update it or end its background activity when appropriate.
- Run built-in optimization if your model has it. Vivo gives the path Settings > Battery > Power Saving Management > App Deep Optimization > Start Optimization. Availability and labels can vary by model and software region. Restart after manual optimization. If the option is unavailable, Vivo suggests at least three overnight screen-off charging sessions after the upgrade.
Do not treat intense, worsening, or continuing heat as harmless optimization. Stop intensive use and contact Vivo support or an authorized service center if the phone shows a high-temperature warning, becomes too hot to handle, shuts down, or continues to drain abnormally after these checks. Vivo’s support index lists both [battery drain after a system upgrade and heating after an update] as support topics; the available guidance does not establish a universal temperature threshold.
An app or feature is not working properly
- Update the affected app using its official distribution channel.
- Restart the phone and check whether the problem remains limited to that app or affects other apps too.
- For a missing OriginOS feature, check whether it is supported on your model, system version, and region, and whether the relevant app is compatible.
- If the fault persists, record the steps that reliably reproduce it and contact Vivo support with your model, region, and build number.
A model-specific issue list for crashes, connectivity, camera behavior, and notifications is not established by the available official information. Avoid assuming one workaround applies to every Vivo phone.

Should you downgrade from OriginOS 7?
Consider rollback only after ordinary troubleshooting and after checking whether Vivo has issued a newer official update for your device. Downgrade is not a quick, risk-free fix: Vivo’s [OriginOS 7 to OriginOS 6 downgrade guide] supports only listed models, and the eligibility list and local instructions may change.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Confirm that Vivo lists your exact model and region as eligible.
- Back up essential data and verify that the backup can be read before proceeding.
- Understand that rollback erases all data on the device. Vivo also warns that some data may not restore cleanly across versions.
- Note that Vivo’s PC backup utility does not cover data in the Atomic Privacy System.
Do not use an unofficial firmware package or assume every phone running OriginOS 7 can roll back. Follow the current instructions for your eligible device.

If you are using an OriginOS 7 preview
Beta guidance is specific to the program and region. Vivo Malaysia’s [OriginOS 7 Preview Program FAQ] warns that its closed beta may be unstable and incompatible. For that program, the FAQ says approved testers install through Settings > System Upgrade after launch and submit trial feedback using the APK supplied to their tester group. These directions are not general stable-release troubleshooting steps.
