Fix Call of Duty: Mobile in this order: confirm your phone meets Activision’s minimum requirements, identify whether the problem is launching, installing, downloading in-game assets, connecting to a match, or storage, then apply the platform-specific step for that symptom. Restart and update first; clear the game cache on Android, reinstall on iOS when necessary, and treat an app-store download as a different problem from an in-game resource download.
Start with the symptom, platform, and version
The correct fix depends on where Call of Duty: Mobile fails. A game that will not install from Google Play or the App Store needs a different remedy from one that launches and then cannot download a map. Before changing anything, note three facts:

- Platform: Android or iOS.
- Failure stage: app installation, launch, a black screen or crash, an in-game resource download, or lag and disconnection during a match.
- Version context: your operating-system version, game version, the exact error text, and whether the problem started immediately after an update.
These details do not prove a cause by themselves, but they prevent you from applying an Android cache procedure to an iPhone or confusing a store download with the game’s own asset manager. If you contact support, include all of them.

Check compatibility before troubleshooting performance
Activision’s support article, updated February 25, 2026, lists the following minimum compatibility specifications:

Check the software version in your device’s system settings and verify that the game is supported by your store listing. A handset that meets the listed minimum can still overheat, run out of working storage, lose network connectivity, or struggle with later content. Activision does not publish a guaranteed frame rate, crash rate, bandwidth requirement, ping limit, or universal free-space target for all devices.
When Call of Duty: Mobile crashes, freezes, shows a black screen, or will not launch
Use one change at a time and test the game after each step. That order makes it easier to identify which action helped and avoids deleting data unnecessarily.
Android crash and launch procedure
- Restart the device. A full restart closes stuck background processes and gives the game a clean session.
- Update the game. Open Google Play, search for Call of Duty: Mobile, and install an available update.
- Update Android. In system settings, open the software-update section and install any available update, following the manufacturer’s menu labels.
- Clear only the game cache. Open Settings > Apps > Call of Duty: Mobile > Storage > Clear Cache. Android menu names vary by phone. Choose the cache command, not a storage-reset or data-delete command unless support specifically tells you to do so.
- Launch and test. If the game still fails, record the exact screen or error and move to the installation, storage, or support checks below rather than repeatedly clearing data.
Activision lists these steps for crashes, freezes, black screens, and launch failures. Clearing a cache is not the same as deleting the app or resetting its stored data; the latter can require another download and may affect local settings.
iPhone and iPad crash and launch procedure
- Restart the device.
- Update Call of Duty: Mobile. Open the App Store, view available updates, and install the game update if one is offered.
- Update iOS or iPadOS. Install an available system update from the device’s software-update settings.
- Delete and reinstall the app if it still fails. Activision includes reinstalling as an iOS troubleshooting step.
- Sign in with the same account after reinstalling. Activision states that deleting the app will not delete your progress or other game data and directs you to use the same account to restore it. That assurance applies to the account-backed game data described by Activision; do not assume it covers unrelated, unsynced local files or settings.
Test after each action. If a crash began directly after a particular update, retain the version number and the time it started for a support report instead of assuming that reinstalling alone identifies the cause.

When the app will not download or install
An app-store installation failure happens before the game’s lobby and is different from a map, audio, or other asset that fails inside the game. First confirm that the device meets the minimums above and that you have enough working storage.
- Check the connection. Activision recommends a strong Wi-Fi connection for downloading. If Wi-Fi is unreliable, restart the router if you can access it, or try mobile data where your plan and coverage permit.
- Restart the phone or tablet. Then retry the store download.
- On Android, clear Google Play Store cache and data. Use Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage, then use the cache and data controls provided by your device. Menu wording differs among Android versions. Reopen Google Play and try again.
- On iOS, retry through the App Store after the connection and restart checks. If the store reports insufficient space, follow the storage procedure in the next section.
These are official suggestions, not guarantees. Do not infer that a failed store download is caused by the game’s in-match servers; the app has not reached that stage yet.
When Call of Duty: Mobile resources will not download in the game
In-game resources are separate from installing the app. The exact screen can change with a new release, so check the update notes for your installed version. A documented example is Activision’s Version 35.0 notes dated December 8, 2025.
What Version 35.0 required on Android
After Version 35.0, Android players needed to redownload some content through the in-game Download Manager. From the main lobby, tap the down-arrow icon at the bottom to open it. The notes specifically named the Isolated Battle Royale map and HD audio:

- The Isolated map was unavailable until its download completed.
- Audio quality was lower until the HD-audio package finished downloading.
If a current update shows a similar manager, leave the game open on a reliable connection while the listed package completes. A paused or failed package should be treated as an in-game download issue, not as proof that the entire app must be reinstalled.
What Version 35.0 included on iOS
Activision’s Version 35.0 notes said the iOS build included the Isolated map and HD audio in the base app, without separate downloads of those items. That was a statement about that December 2025 release, not a permanent rule for every later version. Current update notes take priority if the lobby presents a different download workflow.
Resource-download checks that apply to either platform
- Confirm whether the store is still installing the app or the running game is fetching an asset.
- Use a stable connection and avoid switching networks repeatedly during the same package download.
- Check available storage before retrying; a resource can require space beyond the app’s initial download.
- Read the current version’s notes for a named Download Manager, required map, audio pack, or other post-update package.
When matches lag, disconnect, or connect poorly
Call of Duty: Mobile requires a network connection. Activision recommends strong Wi-Fi, restarting the router when Wi-Fi is problematic, and restarting the device to refresh the connection. It does not publish a game-specific minimum download speed, maximum ping, packet-loss limit, or guaranteed network fix.

- Restart the device. Then reconnect and test another match.
- If available, compare once with reliable mobile data or another trustworthy network. If the symptom changes, the local connection may be involved; if it does not, this comparison alone does not establish the cause.
Do not change your registered region to try to reduce lag. In a region-policy statement dated March 18, 2026, Activision Support says: “You will always connect to servers you are closest to physically. Changing your registered region will not affect game performance.” A region change therefore is not a performance remedy.

The official guidance does not recommend VPNs, “network booster” apps, cleaner utilities, or a new router as universal fixes. Consider replacing networking equipment only after you have independently established that your home Wi-Fi is unreliable for other uses; a new router cannot correct a device crash, a storage shortage, or a game-server issue.

Activision notes that installation can fail with an “Insufficient Storage” or “Not Enough Storage” message even when the device appears to show free space. The displayed free-space figure can differ from what the installation process can use while it stages and expands files.
Free space safely on Android
- Clear caches belonging to other apps, not the game’s stored data by default.
- Remove apps you no longer use.
- Delete large files you have deliberately identified as unnecessary.
Review each file before deleting it. A cache clear and a personal-file deletion are different operations, and the latter cannot be assumed reversible.

- Open the device-storage view in Settings and review the largest categories.
- Remove unused apps using the available offload or delete controls.
- Delete device files only after confirming that important copies are backed up to iCloud or another location.
Verify the backup before deleting anything; an item that merely appears in a sync view is not a substitute for checking that it can be restored.

How much space does the game need?
Activision’s Version 35.0 notes gave historical approximate app sizes of about 1.6 GB on Android and 3.3 GB on iOS. Those figures describe that December 2025 release only. They are not a current total-install requirement, because later updates and downloaded resources can change the amount of space used.

No universal free-space target is supplied by the reviewed Activision guidance. Use the store’s current size and the space reported by your own device as the immediate checks, while allowing room for updates and in-game packages.

What to collect before contacting Activision Support
If the ordered steps do not resolve the issue, prepare a concise report rather than repeating the same reset. Include:

- The Call of Duty: Mobile version and the date an update was installed, if known.
- The exact error wording or a description of the screen where the failure occurs.
- Whether the issue affects launch, store installation, an in-game resource, or a match connection.
- Whether the behavior changed after a restart, update, cache clear, reinstall, router restart, or one network comparison.
- For an account-backed iOS reinstall, confirmation that you signed in with the same account.
This information lets support distinguish a compatibility floor, an app-store problem, a version-specific resource requirement, and a connection symptom without assuming that one cause explains every failure.
Keep version-specific advice current
Menu labels, resource packages, app sizes, and post-update downloads can change. The Android Download Manager behavior described above came from Version 35.0 notes dated December 8, 2025, while the compatibility and general troubleshooting guidance was updated February 25, 2026. Recheck the latest official update notes when a new release changes what appears in the lobby or store. Use the current notes for your installed version rather than treating an older map or audio-download instruction as a universal rule.
Practical order of operations
For most players, the least disruptive sequence is:
- Confirm Android 6.0 or later with 2 GB RAM, or iOS 15.0 or later with 2 GB RAM.
- Classify the failure as launch, store installation, in-game resource, match connection, or storage.
- Restart the device and test.
- Update the game and operating system and test after each update.
- Use the platform-specific cache, Play Store, reinstall, resource-manager, network, or storage step for the identified symptom.
- Record the result and the exact version before escalating.
This sequence avoids treating a minimum specification as a performance guarantee, a router restart as a cure for every form of lag, or a historical Version 35.0 download requirement as the rule for every future release.
