First check whether the saved screenshot is actually blurry or washed out, or whether only the live image looks that way on your display. Then change one setting at a time—platform, HDR, and Photo Mode filters or effects—while keeping the same scene and camera framing. These checks can help isolate a cause, but no universal fix for Photo Mode screenshot problems has been confirmed.
Check that Photo Mode is available and the game is updated
IO Interactive added Photo Mode in Update 1.3.0, released October 1, 2026. Its options include camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses. If you cannot find Photo Mode, check that the update is installed. IOI’s Update 1.3.0 notes describe the feature and update.

First determine what looks wrong
Take a screenshot in a scene you can revisit, then inspect the saved file as well as the live game image. A soft-looking scene and a soft saved screenshot are not necessarily the same problem. Likewise, if the live image looks washed out but the saved screenshot does not, the display or HDR presentation may be involved; that comparison alone does not identify the cause.
- Soft textures in the live game: Look at the same detail in the rendered scene before opening Photo Mode.
- Blurry saved image: Compare the file with the live scene using the same framing, and repeat after changing only one Photo Mode option.
- Washed-out appearance: Compare the live image and saved screenshot, then test HDR settings individually.
These are diagnostic comparisons, not a controlled test that proves a particular setting is responsible.

Test Photo Mode filters and effects
- Choose a repeatable scene and keep the camera framing the same.
- Capture a baseline screenshot with your current Photo Mode settings.
- Temporarily disable filters and visual effects, then capture the same scene again.
- Compare the two saved images. If the appearance changes, re-enable options one at a time to identify which one affects the result.
Photo Mode includes filters and visual effects, so temporarily removing them is a useful isolation step. IOI’s update notes do not identify a specific filter or effect as a cause of blur or washout, nor do they promise this test will repair a defect.
Isolate HDR-related washout
There is no official universal HDR slider value or confirmed HDR workaround established for this symptom. Use a one-variable-at-a-time comparison: keep the scene and framing fixed, compare HDR on and off, and, if the game has a separate HDR setting, change that setting separately from the platform or display HDR setting. Record which combination you used and compare both the live image and saved file.

- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
A player using an LG C4 described difficulty getting the HDR setting right and called the picture “washed out.” That is one player’s report, not evidence of a general 007 First Light defect or a validated setting recommendation. The post does not establish a fix that applies to other displays or platforms.
Account for platform and upscaling
Platform and game build are useful comparison points, but available sources do not show that an upscaler causes a particular Photo Mode screenshot defect. PlayStation Blog says upgraded PSSR is enabled by default in 007 First Light on PS5 Pro, while IOI uses FSR 3.1.5 outside PS5 Pro. PSSR is intended to reconstruct a sharper, more stable image from a lower internal resolution; that description is not proof that it is responsible for, or can resolve, a blurry saved screenshot. PlayStation Blog’s May 19, 2026 article gives the platform-specific details.

- Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
- Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
- Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
- Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.
What PS5 Pro players should know about blurry textures
IOI’s known-issues page, updated September 17, 2026, lists “Blurry / low-resolution textures” on PS5 Pro and says “Workaround: None at this time.” This entry concerns in-game textures; it does not specifically diagnose Photo Mode screenshot exports or establish that every blurry image is caused by the issue. The page’s at-a-glance block listed version 1.2.1 as the latest live build, but Update 1.3.0 came later, on October 1. The September status may therefore be stale; check IOI’s current known-issues page for a newer status.
PC path-tracing cases are a separate branch
Only apply IOI’s path-tracing guidance if you are playing on PC with path tracing enabled. Its September 25, 2026 recommendations are specific to RTX models and are not general instructions for consoles or Photo Mode export problems:

For these path-tracing cases, IOI also advises updating the game and graphics driver, restoring graphics defaults, following the resolution recommendation for the card, and using DLSS Super Resolution Auto. These instructions come from IOI’s September 25, 2026 Update 1.2.2 guidance; do not treat them as a universal screenshot fix.

If the symptom persists, note the platform, game version, whether the saved file or only the live image looks wrong, HDR state, Photo Mode filters and effects, and—on a PC path-tracing setup—the GPU, resolution, scaling mode, and graphics driver. Compare captures from the same scene and framing while changing only one variable. This makes the result easier to describe when checking current support information or contacting IOI, without assuming a cause that has not been established.
