Do not use a reset or button sequence copied from another Skullcandy model: the available Skullcandy documentation is model-specific, and there is no verified universal sequence.
First, identify the exact headphones model
Skullcandy publishes support by product model, not as one set of instructions for every headphone. Read the name printed on the headband, earcup, packaging, or the existing Bluetooth entry on your device. Record the complete name, including words such as “Wireless,” “Crusher,” “Hesh,” or a version suffix.

This matters before you press any combination of buttons. A quick-start-guide result for Crusher VRA identifies a pairing mode, but the accessible material does not provide a button sequence that can safely be generalized to other models. A sequence that works on one model may do something different on another.
- Use the exact model name when searching Skullcandy Support.
- Open the guide for that model before attempting pairing mode, reset, or firmware-related actions.
- If the model name is unclear, do not guess. Check the label, original box, purchase record, or the name shown in your device’s Bluetooth list.
If your model is not listed on Skullcandy’s product-registration page, that page says the product is not app-compatible. Do not assume that the Skullcandy app, app-based setup, or app-based reset applies to an unlisted model.

Separate a charging problem from a Bluetooth problem
Bluetooth troubleshooting cannot proceed if the headphones are not powering on. Press the power control once using the model’s instructions and observe whether the headphones respond. If there is no response, treat that as a power or charging symptom first rather than repeatedly changing Bluetooth settings.
Checks documented for Hesh 2 Wireless
Skullcandy’s Hesh 2 Wireless troubleshooting article gives charging checks for that model. Allow time for charging to begin, inspect the charging port for debris, make sure the cable is fully seated, and use a charging source that stays within the output stated in that Hesh 2 article.
- Leave the Hesh 2 Wireless connected long enough for charging to start.
- Look into the port for lint or other debris that could prevent the plug from seating.
- Reconnect the cable firmly at the headphone end and at the power source.
- Use the charging-source output specified by Skullcandy for Hesh 2 Wireless rather than an unspecified or unsuitable source.
Those are Hesh 2 Wireless charging checks. They are not evidence of a universal Bluetooth repair for every Skullcandy product. For another model, follow its own charging instructions and do not transfer Hesh 2-specific requirements to it.

Once the headphones power on, check the device you want to connect. Keep the headphones close to that device while pairing and temporarily stop trying to connect them to other phones, tablets, televisions, or computers. A headphone that is already connected elsewhere may not appear as available to the device you are setting up.

On a phone or tablet
- Open the device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Find the Skullcandy entry under saved, paired, or previously connected devices.
- Choose the option to forget, remove, or unpair that entry. The wording varies by operating system.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait briefly, and turn it on again.
- Keep the Bluetooth settings screen open while you follow the exact Skullcandy model guide to enter pairing mode.
On Windows or macOS
- Open the computer’s Bluetooth settings and locate the saved Skullcandy device.
- Remove or forget the saved device instead of repeatedly selecting Connect.
- Toggle Bluetooth off and on, then reopen the add-device or pair-new-device screen.
- Follow the model-specific Skullcandy guide to make the headphones discoverable.
These host-side steps clear a stale record; they do not replace the model’s pairing or reset procedure.
Pair the headphones using the model’s official instructions
Pairing mode is the state in which the headphones advertise themselves to a nearby Bluetooth device. The action that enters that state differs by model. Use the official quick-start guide or support page for the exact model and follow its sequence exactly, including whether the headphones must be powered off first.
Do not infer a hold duration, LED color, or simultaneous-button combination from an online video or from another Skullcandy product. The available Crusher VRA guide result confirms that pairing mode is documented for that model, but it does not establish a sequence for the wider Skullcandy range.
- Open the exact model’s official quick-start guide.
- Locate the section named Pairing, Bluetooth pairing, or Pairing mode.
- Perform only the controls listed for that model.
- Wait for the model-specific discovery indication described in the guide.
- On the phone or computer, select the matching Skullcandy name once.
- If a code is requested, use only the code specified by the model’s guide; do not guess from another model’s instructions.
If the official guide is unavailable, contact Skullcandy Support with the exact model name. It is safer to obtain the correct sequence than to experiment with a reset combination.

When the headphones appear but will not connect
An entry that appears in the Bluetooth list but fails when selected usually indicates that the saved relationship or the current pairing state needs to be rebuilt. Work through the sequence once, in order, rather than tapping Connect repeatedly.
Rebuild the saved pairing
- On the host device, forget or remove every saved entry for these headphones.
- Close any audio app that may be trying to use the old connection.
- Turn Bluetooth off and on again on the host.
- Power the headphones off and back on using the exact model instructions.
- Enter the model’s official pairing mode.
- Select the headphones from the host’s list of new Bluetooth devices.
- After the connection succeeds, play a short audio clip and confirm that the output is the headphones rather than the device’s built-in speaker.
If the headphones connect but immediately return to a disconnected state, remove the saved entry again and test with only one nearby host. This distinguishes a stale host record or competing connection attempt from a failure to enter pairing mode.
When the headphones do not appear in the Bluetooth list
First confirm that the headphones are powered and that you are using the exact model’s pairing-mode procedure. A powered-on headphone is not necessarily discoverable; it may simply be in normal operating mode or connected to a previously paired host.

- Move the headphones close to the phone or computer during setup.
- Stop Bluetooth scanning or connection attempts from other nearby devices.
- Forget an old Skullcandy entry on the device you are setting up.
- Toggle Bluetooth off and on, then scan again.
- Repeat the official pairing-mode procedure for the exact model, not a sequence from a different model.
If the model still does not appear, test discovery from one other host if available. A successful discovery on another host points toward the first device’s saved Bluetooth state or settings. Failure to appear on multiple hosts after the correct pairing-mode procedure points toward a headphone-side issue or an incorrect procedure; contact Skullcandy Support with the model name rather than trying an undocumented reset.

When it connects but there is no sound
A Bluetooth connection and an audio-output selection are separate. After the host reports that the headphones are connected, open its sound or playback-output control and select the Skullcandy headphones. Start playback at a moderate volume and check whether the audio is coming from the headphones or the device’s speaker.
If calls work but music does not, or music works but calls do not, inspect the host’s per-application output and input selections. Disconnect and reconnect once after changing the output. Do not conclude that pairing has failed solely because one application kept the previous output.

Reset instructions are model-specific. The supplied Skullcandy material does not establish one universal reset sequence, hold duration, LED pattern, or button combination. A reset should therefore be the last model-guided step after you have verified power, removed the old Bluetooth entry, and attempted the official pairing procedure.
Use a reset only when all three conditions are met
- You have confirmed the complete model name.
- You are reading the reset instructions for that exact model.
- You understand that a reset can erase saved pairing information and require every device to be paired again.
After a model-specific reset, remove the old Skullcandy entry from the phone or computer, toggle Bluetooth, and perform a fresh pairing using the same exact-model guide. If you cannot find an official reset procedure, ask Skullcandy Support rather than combining buttons from unrelated instructions.
App compatibility is model-dependent
Skullcandy’s registration page lists products that are compatible with its app and states that products not listed are not app-compatible. This means an app may be useful for a listed model, but app availability cannot be assumed for every Skullcandy headphone.
- Check the registration list using the exact product name.
- If the product is listed, follow the app’s model-specific setup instructions after Bluetooth pairing is working.
- If it is not listed, troubleshoot through the headphone’s official guide and the host device’s Bluetooth settings instead of forcing an app connection.
An app cannot substitute for entering the correct hardware pairing mode, and installing it is not a universal fix for a headphone that will not appear in Bluetooth.

- Whether an old saved entry was removed before the latest pairing attempt.

- The exact step in the official guide where behavior differs from the expected result.
This information helps support avoid sending a button sequence for the wrong product. If you do not have the official guide, say so and request the guide for your exact model.
A safe order of operations
Use this order whenever the cause is unclear:
- Identify the exact Skullcandy model.
- Confirm that the headphones power on.
- Resolve model-specific charging symptoms before diagnosing Bluetooth. For Hesh 2 Wireless, apply its documented charging checks.
- Remove the old Skullcandy Bluetooth entry from the host device.
- Toggle Bluetooth on the host and keep only one nearby host active for the test.
- Enter pairing mode using the exact model’s official guide.
- Select the headphones from the host’s new-device list.
- Choose the headphones as the active audio output.
- Use a reset only if the exact model guide provides one.
- Contact Skullcandy Support if the correct procedure fails or the guide is unavailable.
This sequence keeps charging, pairing, saved-device, and audio-output symptoms separate. That separation prevents an Hesh 2 charging instruction from being mistaken for a universal Bluetooth fix and prevents an undocumented reset from being applied to the wrong Skullcandy model.
