First identify whether the problem is missing installation content, account access, an error code, networking or matchmaking, a challenge, or an in-game UI/loadout feature. Then follow the matching branch below, check EA’s current issue information for your update, and escalate with precise details if the fault remains.
Start by naming the exact failure
“A feature is missing” can describe several different faults. A game may not be installed correctly, downloadable content may not be selected, an account may lack access, a button may be visible but unresponsive, a challenge may fail to record progress, or a match may be impossible to join. These cases need different troubleshooting.

Before changing settings, write down:
- The exact feature, content item, menu, challenge, attachment, or reward that is affected.
- Where it should appear or operate, such as the main menu, Event tab, Loadouts, pre-game lobby, Campaign, Portal, or a match.
- Your platform: PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. On PC, note whether the game is launched through the EA app, Steam, or Epic.
- The game and update version shown in the launcher or in-game menus.
- The complete error message or code, including punctuation and prefixes such as
DXGI_ERROR_orDEVICE_HUNG. - When the issue began and whether it followed an update, reinstall, account change, or network outage.
- Whether the problem affects one account, one device, one mode, or every mode.
“The feature is present but does nothing” is a different symptom from “the feature is not installed.” “Challenge not tracking” is different from “challenge unavailable because of rank.” Recording that distinction prevents you from applying unrelated graphics, driver, or hardware changes to an account or game-data problem.
Use EA’s support route before experimenting
Open the official Battlefield 6 EA Help hub and select the category that most closely matches your symptom. Its routes cover missing content and rewards, account linking and access, Battlefield 6 error messages, connection and ping problems, and crashes or freezing. The category matters because the recommended checks and escalation route differ.

If the problem appeared immediately after an update, read the current known-issues post and update notes for the version installed on your system. Do not treat an old issue list as a current master list. EA’s version 1.1.1.0 known-issues post explicitly says, “Please note that the list below does not represent every known issue in the 1.1.1.0 update.” It is evidence that defects can be acknowledged and tied to a specific patch, not proof that every listed item still exists.
Patch notes are useful for confirming that a symptom has existed, but they are not guaranteed workarounds. For example, version 1.4.3.0 notes recorded fixes for an Event tab that could be missing or inaccessible and hardware attachments that could disappear from Loadouts after a player viewed challenge requirements. Version 1.2.3.0 addressed Campaign settings access and visibility and improved profile-statistics and progression displays. Version 1.1.2.0 included fixes for missing soldiers or UI in pre-game lobbies and Campaign loading or save problems. Version 1.4.2.0 included changes across UI/HUD, Portal, audio, AI, and gameplay. Those examples show why checking the installed version is important; they do not establish the cause of a different current report.
Choose the troubleshooting branch that matches the symptom

Fix missing downloads, library entries, and installable content
When the game or content is missing in the EA app
Confirm that you are signed into the EA account that owns the game and that the correct platform account is linked. If the title or an expected add-on is not shown, use EA Help’s missing-content, rewards, or account-access route rather than repeatedly reinstalling files.

When installable content is not available in-game
- Open the game’s installation or manage-content view in the launcher.
- Confirm that the affected content is selected for installation.
- Keep Battlefield 6 closed while the content installs; an open game can prevent the installation from completing correctly.
- If an error names particular files or an optional component, toggle that content off and back on to trigger a fresh installation.
- Restart the EA app and check the content again. If the download or library state is still stuck, clear the EA app cache using EA’s current procedure.
On Steam or Epic, the exact content-management controls differ. Follow the platform’s current installation instructions, but retain the same checks: ownership, selected content, closed game, completed download, and a launcher restart.
Handle EA Javelin anti-cheat errors safely
For errors that EA identifies as EA Javelin anti-cheat problems, relaunch the EA app as an administrator, even if you bought or installed Battlefield 6 through Steam or Epic. Then start the game from the EA app. EA also lists reinstalling Javelin as an official step when relaunching does not resolve the error.
- Exit Battlefield 6 and close the EA app completely.
- Use the operating system’s administrator option to reopen the EA app.
- Launch Battlefield 6 from the EA app, regardless of the storefront used for the purchase.
- If the same listed Javelin error remains, follow EA’s current Javelin reinstall instructions.
Do not bypass anti-cheat, use compatibility tricks, or run software that EA identifies as disallowed. EA warns that detected disallowed software can lead to account sanctions. An anti-cheat error should be handled through the approved EA process, not by disabling protections.
Resolve DirectX and driver messages without misdiagnosing a UI bug
A graphics-driver procedure is appropriate when the message identifies a graphics or driver fault. It is not a general remedy for a missing Event tab, vanished attachment, or challenge tracker.

DXGI_ERROR_ or DEVICE_HUNG
- Compare the PC with Battlefield 6’s published minimum requirements.
- Perform a full system restart, not only a game relaunch. EA specifically recommends this for
DXGI_ERROR_andDEVICE_HUNGerrors. - After restarting, test the game before changing several settings at once so you know whether the restart changed the result.
AMD driver errors
- Install the current driver recommended for the graphics hardware.
- Remove old driver components according to the graphics vendor’s supported procedure, then restart.
- Retest only after the driver installation has completed.
If there is no driver or DirectX error, changing drivers is unlikely to repair an account-access, progression, or menu-visibility defect. Check the relevant issue reports instead.
Fix connection, server, and matchmaking failures
Connection symptoms include “can’t join a match,” server or party join errors, high ping, an empty server browser, and failures to enter Portal sessions. Start with network and service checks rather than graphics settings.
- Close Battlefield 6 and restart the router. Reopen the game after the network is back.
- Check EA’s server-status information and your platform’s network-service status for an outage or maintenance window.
- If available, test a wired connection. This removes Wi-Fi interference as one possible cause, although it cannot repair an EA-side outage.
- For a server or match join error, refresh the server list.
- Widen or reset server-browser filters; an over-restrictive filter can make a healthy server list appear empty.
- Install any Battlefield 6 or platform update offered by the launcher.
- If the error message instructs you to enable cross-play, enable it and retry. Do not change cross-play solely because another unrelated feature is missing.
If only one mode or server fails while other online modes work, record that distinction for support. If every online function fails, include the router restart, platform status result, connection type, and time of failure in the report.

Red challenge screen or pop-up
A red challenge screen or pop-up can indicate that your account has not reached the required rank. Check the challenge’s stated rank requirement before treating it as a tracking defect. An unavailable challenge is not necessarily broken.

Eligible challenge does not record progress
If your rank meets the requirement and the challenge remains eligible but progress does not change, check EA’s current issue reports. EA directs players to report an unlisted challenge or tracking problem on EA Forums. Include the challenge name, required objective, current progress, mode, platform, update version, and a description of a match in which the requirement was clearly met.
EA’s version 1.1.1.0 known-issues post included specific challenge trackers that failed in that release. That history matters because a tracker can be a game defect rather than user error, but it does not prove that the same tracker is broken in your current version.

Check patch-specific reports first
When a menu or loadout feature is visible in guides or videos but absent in your game, note the exact screen and check the current update notes. Historical Battlefield 6 fixes demonstrate the range of possible UI defects:
- Update 1.4.3.0 fixed an Event tab that could be missing or inaccessible.
- The same update fixed hardware attachments that could disappear from Loadouts after viewing challenge requirements.
- Update 1.2.3.0 corrected Campaign settings access and visibility and improved profile-statistics and progression displays.
- Update 1.1.2.0 fixed missing soldiers or UI in pre-game lobbies and Campaign loading and save issues.
These are examples tied to named updates. They are not instructions to install an old patch, nor evidence that every missing attachment or tab has the same cause.
Use a controlled check
- Record the menu path where the feature should appear and whether it is absent for all modes or only one.
- Return to the main menu and relaunch the game once to rule out a transient display state.
- Confirm that the game finished updating and that you are using the intended account and platform profile.
- Check current known issues and patch notes for the installed version.
- Avoid changing unrelated resolution, graphics, or hardware settings unless the symptom includes a graphics error, crash, or missing HUD caused by a documented display problem.
If a Loadout attachment vanished after viewing challenge requirements, report that sequence exactly. The order of actions can help distinguish a documented UI regression from an unlock or account problem.
What to do when the game crashes or freezes
A crash or freeze deserves EA’s crash-and-freeze support route, even if it began while opening a feature. Record whether the crash occurs at startup, while loading a menu, when joining a match, or after a specific action. Include the platform, launcher, update version, error text, and whether the crash is repeatable. Do not assume that a crash proves the missing feature itself is corrupted; the same visible symptom can result from an update, account state, driver fault, or server transition.
Escalate with a report that can be acted on
Use EA Help’s contact route when the documented steps do not fit or do not work. For an eligible challenge or tracking problem that is not already listed, use EA Forums as EA directs. A useful report is specific enough for another person to reproduce or classify.

- EA account and platform-linking context, without posting passwords, codes, or other private credentials.
- Exact feature name and the menu or mode where it should appear.
- Exact error text or code, copied rather than paraphrased.
- Game and update version.
- Start date and whether the problem followed an update or account change.
- Reproduction steps, including the last action before the feature disappeared or stopped working.
- What you tried: cache clearing, content verification, router restart, server-status check, driver update, or other official step, and what happened afterward.
Do not claim that support has confirmed a cause unless you have an actual support response. If EA has not listed the symptom for your version, describe it as an unresolved report, not as proof of a universal Battlefield 6 defect.
