If ARC Raiders crashes, stutters, runs at unexpectedly low FPS, reports a connection error, or cannot find a match, start by identifying the symptom and platform. PC crashes require checks for system requirements, drivers, DirectX, Windows, Steam files, Easy Anti-Cheat, and overlays. Low FPS calls for a requirements comparison and current or recently changed GPU drivers. Matchmaking problems often come from an incorrect clock, crossplay mismatch, server-region setting, or party configuration rather than faulty hardware. On PC network problems, Embark recommends a stable connection and wired Ethernet over Wi-Fi, followed by Windows network, DNS, IP, and launcher-cache checks.
The steps below follow Embark Studios support guidance and patch notes available through October 13, 2026. They are symptom-based checks, not a promise that one change will fix every installation.

Start with the symptom, platform, and timing
Do not treat every ARC Raiders problem as the same fault. A crash during startup, a gradual FPS drop, a failed matchmaking queue, and a disconnect after joining a match point to different parts of the game or device.

| A connection error appears, or the game disconnects | Check the local network first; on PC, work through Ethernet, VPN/proxy, Windows troubleshooter, DNS/IP, and launcher-cache steps | Network sequence is PC-focused; console network menus differ |
Write down the exact error text, whether the failure happens before or after the main menu, and whether everyone in a party is affected. That information prevents a matchmaking setting from being mistaken for a hardware failure.

When ARC Raiders crashes or will not launch on PC
Embark’s “Troubleshooting Game Crash & Launch Issues – PC” guide was last updated September 30, 2026. Follow its broad checks before attempting invasive file deletion or reinstalling the game.
1. Compare the computer with the published requirements
Use the requirements as targets, not as a diagnosis. A machine that meets the minimum can still have unstable drivers, background conflicts, thermal limits, or a problem specific to a patch.
| Embark target | Operating system | Processor | Memory | Graphics | Target described by Embark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 10 or later, 64-bit | Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | 12 GB RAM | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti, AMD RX 580, or Intel Arc A380 | Low settings at 1080p/60 FPS |
| Recommended | Windows 10 or later, 64-bit | Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA RTX 2070, AMD RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc B570 | High settings at 1440p/60 FPS |
| Epic | Not stated in the available requirements summary | Not stated | 16 GB RAM | Not stated | 1440p/90 FPS target; verify the current requirements page for the complete Epic specification |
Embark’s requirements page was last updated October 1, 2025. Check the current page before buying hardware or treating a component as unsupported. Do not infer that a GPU, CPU, or RAM upgrade is the right fix without knowing the reader’s exact system and failure pattern.
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 112. Test Raider Voice beta if the crash is in a menu or during loading
If Raider Voice beta is enabled and the crash occurs in the main menu or while the game is loading, disable that beta feature and test again. This is a targeted check for that symptom, not a recommendation to turn off unrelated features permanently.
3. Update the complete driver and software chain
Check the latest stable drivers for the GPU, CPU platform, motherboard or BIOS, monitor, network adapter, and connected peripherals. Also update DirectX and Windows. Restart the computer after updates so that pending driver and system changes are actually loaded.
If the crash began immediately after a driver update, record the driver version before changing it. That detail is useful when deciding whether to stay current or test the previous driver in the performance troubleshooting sequence.
4. Verify Steam’s installed files
For a Steam installation, use Steam’s game properties and its installed-files verification command. Let the process finish, replace damaged or missing files if Steam reports them, and then restart Steam before launching ARC Raiders again. Verification is safer as an early step than deleting arbitrary folders.

5. Treat Easy Anti-Cheat errors according to their code
Easy Anti-Cheat failures are not one universal problem. Embark’s guide gives error-specific actions:
- For error 30005, reboot first.
- For a maximum-simultaneous-instances message, check whether a game process is still running in the background and close the lingering process before trying again.
- For other exit codes, follow the instruction attached to that named code.
Deeper file deletion or a reinstall belongs to the particular error instructions that call for it. Do not make those destructive steps the default response to every Easy Anti-Cheat message.
6. Remove overlay and third-party conflicts as a test
If the basic checks do not help, temporarily disable overlays and third-party software that injects into or monitors the game. Test with the smallest practical set of background applications, then restore tools one at a time if the crash disappears. This identifies a conflict without assuming that a particular utility is defective.
7. Check current known-issue notices before changing Windows
Embark’s September 8, 2026 notes listed a PC crash issue associated with Windows Update KB5121003. The October 8, 2026 release notes reviewed for this guide do not establish whether that report remains active after later updates. Check the current Embark support and release-note pages for status before removing or rolling back a Windows update. Do not uninstall a security or quality update solely because an older note mentioned it.

When ARC Raiders has low FPS or stutters
Low FPS and stuttering can coexist, but they are not identical. A consistently low frame rate usually reflects rendering load or hardware headroom; brief hitches can also involve asset streaming, CPU work, drivers, or background activity.
Use the requirements as a comparison point
The minimum target is 1080p at 60 FPS on low settings with 12 GB of RAM and the listed entry-level processors and graphics cards. The recommended target is 1440p at 60 FPS on high settings with 16 GB of RAM and the listed midrange processors and graphics cards. These are Embark’s published targets, not a guarantee for every scene, patch, or background workload.
Check the GPU driver in both directions
In a June 16, 2026 note about lower-than-usual PC FPS, Embark advised ensuring that the GPU driver is current or trying a rollback to a previous version if the problem continued. If your FPS changed after a driver update, record the old and new versions and test one controlled change at a time. A rollback is a troubleshooting experiment, not proof that every current driver is incompatible.

Understand what patch notes do—and do not—prove
The March 31, 2026 Flashpoint notes described optimized texture-streaming calculations intended to reduce stuttering and CPU performance optimizations. Those changes may improve performance for affected scenarios, but a historical optimization is not evidence that every current stutter is solved. A later patch, driver, Windows change, or local workload can produce a different result.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Separate rendering load from hitching
Use a repeatable location or activity when comparing changes. Note resolution, graphics preset, frame-rate cap, GPU utilization, CPU utilization, temperature, and whether the hitch occurs during traversal, combat, or loading. Change one setting or driver at a time and keep the previous value recorded. This prevents a resolution change from being confused with a driver fix.
- If FPS is low throughout play, first compare the CPU, GPU, RAM, operating system, resolution, and quality target with Embark’s requirements.
- If average FPS is acceptable but frame delivery periodically pauses, investigate driver changes, background overlays, CPU load, and the game’s current patch state.
- If the problem started after an update, note the update date and check Embark’s current known issues before replacing hardware.
Avoid buying a GPU, CPU, or memory kit based only on the symptom name. The official requirements help establish a baseline; they do not identify which component is limiting a particular computer.
When you cannot find a match or cannot join a map condition
Matchmaking trouble is different from a general internet outage. You can have a working browser connection and still fail to queue because the clock, crossplay, region, or party settings do not agree.
Synchronize the device clock
Set the PC, Xbox, or PlayStation clock to update automatically and confirm the time zone is correct. An incorrect clock can prevent a player from finding a match or joining a map condition. Restart the game after correcting a visibly wrong time.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCheck crossplay for every party member
Enable crossplay when appropriate for the people you want to play with. Embark says the most restrictive party member’s crossplay setting applies to everyone in that party. If one member has a more restrictive setting, changing another member’s setting may have no effect until the restrictive setting is changed or that player leaves the party.
Set the server region to Automatic
On PC or console, open Gameplay > Server and select Automatic. Embark recommends Automatic server selection rather than forcing an unsuitable region. If you have been testing a manually selected region, return to Automatic before interpreting a long queue as a server outage.

Read the queue message literally
September patch notes say matchmaking messages were improved to clarify cases in which a player goes offline while queuing or crossplay settings are incompatible. Capture the exact message and check the party’s online status and crossplay settings before troubleshooting drivers or reinstalling the game.

Embark’s “Troubleshooting Connection Issues – PC” guide was last updated February 27, 2026. It recommends a stable, fast connection and states: “A wired (Ethernet) connection is recommended over Wi-Fi.” Wired networking may improve local stability, but it cannot repair a game-server issue, a crossplay mismatch, or a matchmaking-region problem.

Work through the local network in order
- Confirm the active network. Check that Windows is connected to the intended network, that the connection has internet access, and that the saved Wi-Fi password is correct if you are using Wi-Fi.
- Prefer Ethernet for the test. Connect the PC directly to the router with an Ethernet cable if practical. If the error disappears only on Ethernet, investigate Wi-Fi signal quality, interference, congestion, or the access point rather than assuming the game files are damaged.
- Temporarily avoid VPNs and proxies. Embark recommends avoiding them where possible while troubleshooting. If a VPN is required for your network, test with and without it only when that is safe and permitted.
- Run Windows’ network troubleshooter. Use the network status settings to launch the built-in troubleshooter and apply only the changes it reports. Restart the game after the adapter is repaired or reset.
- Test a public DNS service. Embark lists changing to a public DNS server as an option. Record the original DNS addresses so you can restore them, and change DNS only on the adapter you are testing.
- Renew the IP address and flush DNS. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run
ipconfig /release, thenipconfig /renew, followed byipconfig /flushdns. These commands refresh the local lease and DNS cache; they are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed cures. - Clear the launcher cache if the problem persists. Use the launcher’s supported cache-clearing procedure, then restart the launcher and sign in again. Do not delete unrelated game or Windows folders.
After each network change, test the same activity and note whether the failure is a timeout, an immediate error, a disconnect after joining, or a matchmaking queue that never completes. Different timing points to different next checks.

| Check | PC | Console |
|---|---|---|
| Clock | Enable automatic time and verify the time zone | Enable automatic date and time in the console system settings |

| Server | Gameplay > Server > Automatic | Gameplay > Server > Automatic |
| Party rule | The most restrictive member setting applies | The most restrictive member setting applies |
| Driver, DirectX, Steam, Easy Anti-Cheat, DNS, and launcher cache | Use the PC-specific sequence above | These PC steps do not apply; use current console support and platform network diagnostics |
Embark’s September 2026 notes listed Xbox Series S crashes as under investigation. The October 8 release notes reviewed here do not confirm whether that report remains active after the update. Check current support and release notes for the status instead of assuming a console reset or deleting local data will fix it.
A short decision path you can follow
- Crash before the menu: compare requirements, disable Raider Voice beta if enabled, update the listed drivers plus DirectX and Windows, restart, verify Steam files, and follow the exact Easy Anti-Cheat error instructions.
- Crash after an overlay or utility starts: disable overlays and third-party software temporarily, then retest with a minimal background load.
- Low FPS everywhere: compare the system with Embark’s minimum or recommended target, check the GPU driver, and consider a previous driver if the issue followed an update.
- Brief traversal or loading hitches: record when they happen, check the current patch notes, and separate frame-rate limits from streaming or CPU-related pauses.
- Cannot find a match: synchronize the clock, review every party member’s crossplay setting, and set Gameplay > Server to Automatic.
- Connection error or disconnect: test the active network, prefer Ethernet, avoid VPNs or proxies where possible, run the Windows troubleshooter, then try DNS, IP renewal, DNS flushing, and launcher-cache clearing.
- Known-issue possibility: check current Embark notices before changing Windows updates or performing a reinstall, especially for the KB5121003 PC report and Xbox Series S crashes.
What to include when contacting support
If the sequence does not resolve the problem, provide a useful incident record rather than only saying that the game is broken. Include the platform, Windows or console version, CPU, GPU, RAM, driver versions, game version, exact error text or Easy Anti-Cheat code, when the issue began, whether it happens solo or only in a party, crossplay and server settings, and which steps changed the behavior. For network failures, state whether Ethernet and Wi-Fi behave differently and whether the failure occurs before matchmaking, during the queue, or after entering a match.
Older known-issue notes can become obsolete after later updates. Recheck Embark’s current Help Center and release notes before repeating a workaround tied to a dated patch.
