Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

Start with low-risk checks—restart the game and device, update Windows or console software, verify the installation, and test your network. The exact error text matters, because an EAC error, a damaged game file, an administrator setting, and a restricted NAT require different fixes.
These steps follow Embark Studios’ crash guide updated September 30, 2026, and its PC and console connection guides updated February 27, 2026. Those checklists cannot confirm whether ARC Raiders servers are currently down. If every local test passes, check official announcements and contact support with your platform, operating system, region, approximate time, and the exact error text.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Close ARC Raiders completely and launch it again. If the game is frozen, end it from Task Manager on Windows or use the console’s quit command.
- Restart the PC or console. A restart clears temporary processes and, for some Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) failures, is specifically the first recommended action.
- Restart your modem or router if the symptom is disconnection, matchmaking failure, or an inability to reach services. Unplug it for at least 60 seconds, reconnect it, wait for internet access to return, and then relaunch the game.
- Install pending Windows, graphics-driver, launcher, or console-system updates, then restart after updating.
- Record the exact displayed message and code. “EAC Error 30005,” “ARAV8007,” “Exit Code 0x3,” and a generic connection timeout are different diagnosis branches.
Do not assume that a crash proves an outage. Conversely, a successful internet test does not prove that the game service is available; your platform network, route to the service, and ARC Raiders matchmaking service are separate points of failure.

PC crash and launch problems
Use Embark’s PC crash and launch troubleshooting guide alongside the symptom or code on your screen. Its article was last updated September 30, 2026.
Check the PC baseline first
Steam lists these specifications for ARC Raiders. They are requirements, not statistics about how often crashes occur, and requirements can change; recheck the current Steam listing if your hardware or game build differs.
| Level | Operating system | Processor | Memory | Graphics |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 10 64-bit or later | Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | 12 GB RAM | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti, AMD RX 580, or Intel Arc A380 |
| Recommended | Windows 10 64-bit or later | Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA RTX 2070, AMD RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc B570 |
See Valve’s current ARC Raiders technical-issue page for the live requirement listing. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee a particular frame rate or eliminate every crash; it only establishes the published baseline.
Update drivers, Windows, and hardware firmware
Embark states that “Outdated or incompatible drivers, especially graphics drivers, are one of the most common causes of crashes in PC games.” Update the graphics driver from your GPU manufacturer, install Windows updates, and check updates for the motherboard or BIOS, CPU platform, monitor, Wi-Fi or network adapter, and connected peripherals when applicable. Restart after installing updates. A newly installed driver can also introduce a compatibility problem; if crashes begin immediately afterward, use the manufacturer’s supported rollback option rather than downloading an unofficial driver.
Turn off Raider Voice (Beta) when testing
Embark says Raider Voice (Beta) may cause crashes for some players. If it is enabled, turn it off temporarily and test the same launch or loading sequence. This is a reversible diagnostic step; re-enable it only after the game is stable.
Verify Steam files
Missing or damaged files can stop a launch or cause a crash while loading. Steam’s verification checks the installation and replaces problematic files.

- The unique flat cable shape allows for a cleaner and safer installation. You can easily and seamlessly make the cable run along walls, follow edges & corners or even make it completely invisible by sliding it under a carpet.
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click ARC Raiders and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the check and any download to finish, then start the game again.
Do not interrupt the process or delete random files from the installation directory. If verification repeatedly reports changes, note the result for support and check whether security software is quarantining files.
PC error-specific fixes
Apply only the branch that matches your displayed message. A generic “reinstall everything” approach can erase useful evidence and is not appropriate for every code.
EAC Error 30005
EAC Error 30005 means the EAC service could not start. Embark says another program, including antivirus software, may have locked an EAC file.
- Restart Windows first. This is Embark’s first suggested step and can clear a stuck service or file lock.
- Launch ARC Raiders again before changing security settings.
- If the error persists, consult the official EAC instructions linked from Embark’s crash and launch guide. Embark suggests an exclusion for
Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS, but an exclusion reduces scanning of that folder. Add one only if you understand the security trade-off, use the official path, and remove it if it is no longer needed.
Do not treat an exclusion as a universal fix. If your security product reports a threat rather than a lock, stop and investigate that alert instead of bypassing it.
EAC Windows Service issue
Embark points to the EAC self-repair tool for a Windows Service problem and labels it an advanced Command Prompt procedure. Follow the linked official EAC instructions exactly rather than improvising commands or copying a command from an unrelated guide. Run only the commands you understand, then restart Windows and test the game.
“Maximum simultaneous game instances reached”
Windows may still have an ARC Raiders process or an EAC driver state from a closed session.

- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.
- Look for the ARC Raiders process and end it if it is still present.
- If no ARC Raiders process appears, reboot the PC. Embark says a reboot is required in that case to clear the EAC driver state.
System Integrity Violation ARAV8007
Embark attributes ARAV8007 to unexpected changes in the game’s file structure and recommends deleting the ARC Raiders folder under Steam’s common directory, then reinstalling. This is substantially more disruptive than file verification. Confirm the correct Steam library path, back up anything you intentionally placed there, and try the lower-risk checks above first. Do not delete a similarly named folder from another library or drive.
Exit Code 0 or 0x1
Embark says these codes can occur when the game is configured to run as administrator. Remove that compatibility setting for PioneerGame:
- Locate the
PioneerGameexecutable in the ARC Raiders installation. - Open its file properties and the compatibility settings.
- Uncheck the option to run the program as an administrator, apply the change, and launch normally.
The exact Properties layout can vary by Windows build. Do not enable administrator mode globally as a troubleshooting shortcut when the official guidance says to remove it.
Exit Code 0x3
Embark identifies a damaged Cerebro.dll as a usual cause. Delete that file at the game path specified in Embark’s guide, then use Steam’s Verify integrity of game files action to restore it. Verification is essential after deletion; do not leave the game without the DLL or download a replacement DLL from a third-party site.
Crashes with no useful code
Disable overlays and third-party software temporarily, then retest. Overlays, capture tools, hardware monitors, input utilities, and similar software can interact with a game even when they do not display an error. Re-enable items one at a time after stability returns so you can identify the conflict.
Why ARC Raiders may crash while loading
Loading crashes commonly involve damaged files, a driver or update conflict, an EAC state, or an overlay. Use this order:

PC connection and matchmaking problems
For connection symptoms, use Embark’s PC connection troubleshooting guide, last updated February 27, 2026. The goal is to separate a local network failure from matchmaking configuration or a service problem.
Set the matchmaking region to Automatic
- Launch ARC Raiders and open the gear menu.
- Choose Gameplay.
- Open Server.
- Set the matchmaking region to Automatic.
Automatic lets the game select the appropriate region. It does not guarantee a match when the service is unavailable or a route is failing.
Stabilize the connection
- Confirm Wi-Fi is enabled, the correct network is selected, and the password is correct.
- Use wired Ethernet when possible. Embark prefers Ethernet because Wi-Fi can be affected by interference, distance, and congestion.
- Avoid VPNs and proxies unless you specifically need one and understand its routing effects.
- Pause large downloads, cloud synchronization, and other traffic while testing.
- Keep Windows current.
An Ethernet cable can remove wireless interference as a variable, but it will not fix a game crash, EAC error, server outage, or an unrelated account problem.
Run Windows network checks
Use the Windows Network Troubleshooter first. If the problem continues, Embark lists these additional options:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Consider switching to a public DNS service using the instructions linked in Embark’s guide. Public DNS is a troubleshooting option, not a guaranteed speed or reliability improvement.
- Open an elevated Command Prompt and run:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart Windows after renewing the address and flushing DNS, then test ARC Raiders again.

Console connection problems: PlayStation 5 and Xbox
Embark’s console connection guide was last updated February 27, 2026. The first job is to identify where the console’s own network test fails.
Read the console network test
- Run the built-in internet test on the PS5 or Xbox.
- Note whether it fails at general internet access, PlayStation Network or Xbox service access, or NAT.
- Use that result to choose the next step. A failure before the platform service is reached is not an ARC Raiders game-file problem.
Power-cycle the network and console
- Fully power off the console.
- Unplug the modem/router for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the modem/router and wait until it has internet service.
- Restart the console and relaunch ARC Raiders.
Use Ethernet if available. Embark notes that wireless interference, distance, and congestion can make Wi-Fi unstable.
Update software and check NAT
Install the latest console system software. Embark says restricted NAT can cause matchmaking and connection problems. Its stated targets are NAT Type 1 or 2 on PlayStation and Open NAT on Xbox; Moderate or Strict NAT may improve when UPnP is enabled on the router.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsUPnP and NAT changes affect your home network’s security and behavior. Follow your router and platform documentation, avoid exposing ports unnecessarily, and do not promise that an open NAT will resolve a server-side incident.
Further console checks
If the basic test and restart do not help, Embark points to public DNS, synchronizing the device clock, clearing the console cache, and contacting platform support. DNS changes are optional troubleshooting, not a guaranteed fix. Keep the original network-test result and any ARC Raiders message for support.
Could ARC Raiders servers be down?
An official troubleshooting checklist cannot establish live service status. The materials available for these fixes do not confirm whether a particular error represents an outage or a widespread incident. Check Embark’s official announcements and the ARC Raiders Technical Help Center for current information, and check your platform’s service status when the console test fails there.
If friends in the same region fail at the same time while your internet and platform tests pass, record the timing and error text and wait for an official update rather than repeatedly reinstalling. If only your device fails, continue with the platform-specific steps above.

When to contact Embark support
Escalate through the official Help Center after the matching branch has failed, especially for repeated EAC errors, ARAV8007, unexplained exit codes, or connection failures that survive network and platform tests. Include:
- Platform: Steam/PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox.
- Operating-system version on PC, or console model and system-software version.
- Your country or matchmaking region.
- Approximate date and time of each failure, including time zone.
- The exact error text and numeric code, copied rather than paraphrased.
- Whether restarting, file verification, updates, Ethernet, and the relevant network test changed the symptom.
- For PC, hardware details and whether Raider Voice (Beta), overlays, VPNs, or third-party tools were enabled.
Use the official technical support section to choose the current contact route. Do not attach passwords, authentication codes, or unrelated private files.
