If Aion 2 “diamond farming” suddenly stops being profitable, first verify what the game calls a diamond. Available evidence does not establish a diamond-specific drop rate, cap, or average hourly profit. A player discussion refers to diamond and sapphire materials, while current guides mainly document Kina/Kinah income limits. Treat those as different systems until your client confirms otherwise.
Start by identifying what “diamond” means
The phrase can describe several different things in player conversations: a gemstone material, an item that can be sold through the market, a crafting ingredient, or an icon that is actually tied to a currency or reward track. The available evidence does not verify which of these Aion 2 systems the phrase refers to.

Open your inventory, storage and market listings and copy the exact in-game item name. Check whether the item has a sell option, a listing option, a recipe use, a character-bound tag or a currency balance. Do not apply a Kina/Kinah farming guide to a diamond material simply because both are described as “farming.”

- Material: Its value depends on drop rate, gathering time, crafting demand and whether it can be traded.
- Market item: Its value depends on current listings, completed sales and any market tax or listing restrictions shown in the client.
- Currency: It may be governed by daily or weekly reward rules rather than by a market price.
- Bound reward: A displayed quantity may have no direct sale value at all.
A player post about farming diamond and sapphire materials is useful as a lead, but it does not establish official mechanics, a drop rate or a reliable profit rate. Your character’s item tooltip and the current client UI are the authority for the item you actually possess.

Measure whether the route really lost value
Many “dead” farms are not broken; the player has reached a lower-value phase, a market price has moved, or the route was profitable only under unusually favorable conditions. Measure comparable sessions before changing your build or abandoning the activity.
Use a repeatable session log
- Record the character, level, region, patch displayed by the launcher or client, route and starting inventory.
- Run the same route for a fixed interval, such as 30 or 60 minutes. Do not mix open-world kills, gathering and dungeon queues in one sample.
- Record diamonds gained, other saleable items, consumables used, repair costs and any entry or energy cost.
- Record the current achievable sale value. Use the price at which comparable items actually move, not the highest listing that has remained unsold.
- Repeat the session on at least three comparable runs and calculate the median result. A single lucky drop or one anecdotal market post is not a dependable price guide.
For a tradeable material, a useful estimate is:
net value per hour = (diamonds sold × realistic unit price + other sale proceeds − consumables − repairs − fees) ÷ hours played
If the item is bound, replace sale proceeds with the value of the reward it enables. If it has no practical use, its market value is zero even when the inventory icon looks valuable.
Separate a price problem from a drop problem

Check caps before assuming a diamond nerf
Current secondary guides discuss limits on some Kina/Kinah activities. One guide reports an open-world monster Kina limit of about one million Kina per character per day. That is a guide-reported currency limit, not a confirmed limit on diamond materials. Another guide reports weekly thresholds at which dungeon-cube Kina rewards are reduced. The exact applicability of those reports depends on region, patch and the live client.

Before treating either figure as a rule for your character, inspect the game’s reward, dungeon and currency panels for a counter, warning or reduced-payout message. Record what the interface says and the time at which the change occurs. Do not infer a diamond cap from a Kina cap, and do not assume a guide’s weekly dungeon rule applies to every dungeon or region.
Diagnostic signs of a reward threshold
- The same activity gives a noticeably smaller currency payout after several runs.
- A tooltip or activity panel shows a daily, weekly or character-based counter.
- The currency reward changes while the number of kills, completion time and loot table remain similar.
- Changing characters resets or changes the counter, indicating a character-level rule rather than a material drop rule.
If the client shows no diamond-specific counter and your measured diamond quantity is stable, the decline is more likely to be market-related or caused by costs and downtime than by a confirmed diamond limit.
Verify the item’s marketability and real sale value
Open the item’s market page and check whether listings are active, whether the item is tradable, and whether recent transactions are visible. An attractive lowest listing does not prove that buyers are paying that amount. A thin market can make the nominal price irrelevant.
Use a conservative selling test
- List a small, representative batch rather than your entire stock.
- Note the listed price, any fee shown before confirmation and the time until sale.
- Compare several completed sales or filled orders when the interface exposes them.
- Subtract fees and unsold inventory from your hourly calculation.
- Stop listing if the item is bound, prohibited from trading or consistently expires without buyers.
Market values can change with player demand, new crafting recipes, events and patch changes. Recheck the listing immediately before each farming session instead of relying on a static guide figure. No verified regional diamond-market statistic is established here, so report your own region and server when comparing results with other players.

Compare legal income routes after confirming your target
Secondary guides identify duties, dungeon rewards, Abyss activities, gathering, crafting and market sales as general income routes. Their suitability for a diamond material is not established in the available evidence. Compare them using the same measurement method and choose the route that produces the target item or the highest net value for your actual constraints.

Choose with a simple decision rule
- If you specifically need diamonds for a recipe, compare diamonds per active hour, not total Kina.
- If you need spendable currency, compare net Kina per total elapsed hour, including queues and travel.
- If the target is expensive to sell but cheap to craft, compare the finished item’s completed-sale value with the raw material value.
- If a route is capped, switch after the relevant counter changes rather than continuing for reduced rewards.
- If a route has variable drops, use a median over several sessions and keep an emergency alternative available.
Fix common causes of a falling return
The route is slower than it used to be
Re-time the full loop from the moment you leave town or the queue begins until you return and can sell or store the result. A route that once produced 100 units during 40 minutes may be worse than a 70-unit route that takes 20 minutes. Include loading, travel, contested spawns, resurrection, sorting and market time.
Your character is over- or under-qualified for the area
Compare kill time, downtime and incoming damage. If enemies die instantly but the item output is unchanged, moving to a higher-level area may improve overall value. If the higher area causes deaths, consumable use or long recovery periods, its gross drop table may not compensate for the added cost.

The market is saturated
Pause large listings and test a smaller batch. Check whether buyers are purchasing the raw diamond or a crafted product made from it. If demand is seasonal or event-driven, holding an inventory is a risk: include the opportunity cost and the possibility that a patch changes the recipe or reward.

You are counting currency that is not spendable
Separate Kina/Kinah, bound rewards, crafting materials and market proceeds in your log. A character can appear to earn more while receiving a larger share of rewards that cannot be transferred or sold. Use the currency balance and item tooltip, not the color or icon alone.
A counter has reduced another reward
If the client confirms a daily or weekly reduction for the activity, finish the useful portion of that allowance and move to a route whose counter is still open. The reported open-world limit concerns Kina, and the reported dungeon-cube thresholds concern dungeon Kina; neither establishes a diamond-material ceiling.

Do not automate combat or gathering, inject or modify the client, trade accounts, buy or sell in-game currency for real money, or use an external service that performs actions for you.

- Do not advertise or purchase currency outside the game’s authorized systems.
- Do not share credentials or transfer an account to protect a farming operation.
- Keep records of your own runs, but do not use scripts to collect, list or relist items automatically.
A route that is profitable only with automation is not a sustainable fix. Losing the account, currency or inventory eliminates any short-term gain.
A practical troubleshooting worksheet
Copy this checklist into a note and complete it after each test session:
- Exact item name: include the tooltip wording and whether it is bound.
- Character and region: record server, level, class and patch.
- Route: identify the map, activity and start/end points.
- Elapsed time: include queue, travel, combat, sorting and selling.
- Output: diamonds, other items and currency, listed separately.
- Costs: repairs, consumables, entry charges, travel and market fees.
- Market test: listing price, completed-sale evidence and time to sell.
- Counters: any daily or weekly value displayed before and after the run.
- Result: gross value, net value and net value per hour.
- Next experiment: change one variable only, such as location, character, time of day or activity.
Changing one variable at a time prevents a lucky drop, a different market price and a shorter session from being mistaken for a balance change.
What can and cannot be concluded right now
There is no verified diamond-specific drop rate, average hourly yield, market statistic or official diamond cap established by the available material. The evidence does support a careful distinction: a player discussion mentions diamond and sapphire farming, while secondary guides describe limits and reduced payouts for some Kina/Kinah activities. Those currency rules cannot be transferred to diamond drops without confirmation in the current client.
