If a soccer livestream will not start, keeps buffering, or has no sound, first check the player, match availability and account status; then test the app or browser, network and device one at a time. A loading circle does not by itself mean your internet is down: regional rights, an expired session, an ended event or a playback error can look much the same.
Start with the player, match and any error message
Before changing network settings, make sure playback is not paused or muted and note any exact error text or code. Check the broadcaster’s match listing to confirm the event is live and available in your location. Access can depend on territory, account entitlement and the service’s concurrent-stream limit. OneFootball identifies regional broadcast rights as a reason a match may be unavailable and cautions that VPN or proxy use can interfere with access; do not use a VPN to bypass a rights restriction. Sports-streaming services also use errors for issues such as authentication, location, an ended event, or a playback or network failure. NFL Support lists these categories as examples; the exact meaning and remedy depend on the soccer service you use. Follow that service’s error instructions rather than assuming every code means the same thing. NFL Support’s player-error guide describes the range of possible categories.
Try these fixes in order
- Refresh the viewing session. Refresh the page, or force-close and reopen the app. If playback still fails, sign out and back in if your service recommends it.
- Reset the browser or app. In a browser, clear the site’s cache and cookies, then relaunch it. Try another browser supported by the service. In an app, check for an update and restart the device; clear the app cache or reinstall only if the service recommends it and simpler steps have not worked.
- Test a different network. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, if available. Move closer to the router and pause other downloads or streams. If the match works on another network, the original connection or local network is a likely part of the problem.
- Restart the connection and device. Restart your router or modem and the viewing device when the connection is unstable. On a desktop or TV, try Ethernet if practical; a direct wired connection can help distinguish Wi-Fi trouble from an app, account or broadcast issue.
- Reduce device workload. Close demanding applications on a computer, restart the device and install available browser, app or operating-system updates. These steps can help when the connection is sound but playback remains choppy.
Menu names and reset options vary by service and device, so use the broadcaster’s own help page for exact platform instructions. For example, NBA Help Center guidance describes browser cache and cookie steps, while its app instructions are specific to NBA streaming rather than soccer apps.

If the stream keeps buffering
Buffering may result from a weak or interrupted Wi-Fi signal, network congestion, other devices using bandwidth, or the viewing device. A fast-looking connection does not rule out congestion. UEFA says its adaptive playback adjusts stream quality to available bandwidth, but congestion can still delay delivery or cause buffering. Its FAQ states: “Despite having a fast Internet connection, Internet congestion can slow down the delivery of the stream, make it difficult for you to connect, or cause buffering.”
Try another network, pause competing network use, move nearer to the router, and restart the router or modem. For a TV or desktop, an Ethernet connection is a useful optional test after checking Wi-Fi. UEFA’s FAQ and OneFootball’s help page both recommend connection troubleshooting, but follow the guidance for the service you are watching.

- UEFA.tv figures: UEFA lists a minimum broadband connection of 750 kbps and 5.0 Mbps or higher for its highest video quality when device requirements are met. These are UEFA.tv-specific figures; they are not universal targets for every broadcaster. The FAQ does not state a publication year.
- OneFootball figure: OneFootball recommends at least 5 Mbps for streaming and separately suggests reducing competing bandwidth use. Its page does not state a publication year. This is its own recommendation, not a guarantee that every stream will work at that speed.

If the picture works but there is no sound
Check the whole audio path before concluding that the broadcast is silent. A muted player, low device volume or incorrect output can affect only this viewing session or device. Use another app or website to see whether the device plays audio, then try headphones if available.

- Check the player’s mute button and volume slider.
- Check the device’s volume and selected audio output, including connected headphones or speakers.
- Play audio from a different app or site. If that is also silent, troubleshoot the device or its output rather than the match feed.
- If other audio works but the match is still silent, check the match’s commentary or audio options. Ask the broadcaster whether the feed includes sound if the controls and other audio sources work.

Contact the broadcaster when the match appears unavailable despite being listed for your territory, your account or location is rejected, the player shows a persistent service-specific error, or only that match has no sound. Include the match name, date and time, your location, device model, operating system, app or browser version, exact error text or code, steps you have tried, and a screenshot if possible. OneFootball and other sports-streaming support pages request device and issue details to help identify playback problems. NBA Help Center guidance was updated September 14, 2026; its support process applies to NBA streaming, so use your soccer service’s own contact route.

Contact your internet provider if connection problems recur across multiple services or devices on the same network. If the fault is limited to one match or one streaming service while other connections work, start with that broadcaster instead.
