If your Shark AV2501S won’t connect to SharkClean, first put your phone and robot on your home’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, then verify the password and app permissions. Shark says its robot vacuums cannot connect to 5 GHz. If those checks do not help, restart the robot, phone, and router and try pairing again. The AV2501S is the Shark AI Ultra Robot Self-Empty; Shark’s published connection steps are general robot guidance, not confirmation of a specific reset-button sequence for every AV2501S firmware version.
1. Check the Wi-Fi band, network name, and password
- Connect your phone to your home Wi-Fi. Keep it on the same home network you want the robot to use throughout setup.
- Choose the 2.4 GHz network. Shark states that its robot vacuums cannot connect to the 5 GHz band. If your router displays separate network names, select the 2.4 GHz one in SharkClean. If it combines both bands under one name or your phone cannot see 2.4 GHz, check the router settings or ask your internet provider how the bands are configured. Shark robot Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Enter the password again carefully. Check capitalization and any easily confused characters. Shark distinguishes an incorrect password from an SSID (network name) that cannot be found; the first calls for checking the credentials, while the second points to network visibility or router settings. 2. Check SharkClean and router permissions
- On iPhone or iPad, allow Local Network access. Open iOS Settings and make sure SharkClean is allowed to access the Local Network. Without that permission, the app may not be able to discover devices on your home network. Shark robot Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Temporarily turn off VPN or proxy use. Then retry pairing from the phone while it remains connected to home Wi-Fi. Shark setup guidance
- Check router Wi-Fi isolation. Disable Wi-Fi isolation during setup if it is enabled; this setting can prevent devices on the network from communicating with each other. If you cannot find it, consult the router maker or your internet provider. Shark setup guidance
3. Restart and retry pairing
Shark’s general robot troubleshooting recommends restarting the robot and phone, forgetting the Shark network on the phone, reopening SharkClean, and trying the connection process again. It also recommends restarting the router. Shark robot Wi-Fi troubleshooting Shark setup guidance

- Restart the AV2501S using the controls described in its owner’s guide. Do not assume another Shark series’ power-button timing applies.
- Restart your phone.
- In the phone’s Wi-Fi settings, forget the Shark network if it appears in the saved networks list.
- Unplug the router for 30 seconds, reconnect it, and wait for it to restart.
- Reopen SharkClean and retry pairing, selecting the home 2.4 GHz network and entering its password.
4. If it disconnects during a cleaning run
Shark says a robot may temporarily lose its connection when it moves under furniture or farther from the router, and that it should reconnect automatically. If it remains offline after returning closer to the router, retry the restart and pairing steps above. 5. Don’t guess at a Wi-Fi reset button combination
A button sequence published for a different Shark robot is not proof that it applies to the AV2501S. The available general robot guidance does not establish an AV2501S-specific Wi-Fi-reset combination. Check the AV2501S owner’s guide or ask Shark support for the model-specific procedure before trying one.
