When recognition still fails
Write down whether the controller produces no response at all, appears briefly and disappears, or stays connected while controls fail. When the controller keeps disconnecting
Separate an intermittent link from an app problem
A controller that appears in Windows or Xbox and then disappears has a different symptom from one that is never detected.
