How to fix a Glorious wireless mouse that won’t connect, charge, or stay connected

The fastest way to fix a Glorious wireless mouse is to identify its exact model first, then troubleshoot the connection mode it actually supports. Glorious publishes separate instructions for different product families, so Bluetooth pairing, receiver recovery, firmware updates, charging times, and reset procedures are not interchangeable.

Read the model name on the underside of the mouse or its packaging. The steps below give a model-specific procedure for Model O 2 Wireless and explain where the separate PRO 1KHz guide differs. If your mouse is another model, use its official guide rather than applying a Model O 2 reset or pairing sequence.

Start with the model and the symptom

Before changing software or buying a cable, write down two things: the exact model and what happens when you try each connection method. A mouse that works over USB but not wirelessly has a different fault path from one that does not power on in any mode.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Find the model

  • Turn the mouse over and read the label on the underside.
  • Check the original packaging if the underside marking is unclear.
  • Use the guide for that model and family. Do not assume that a Model O 2 Wireless procedure applies to every Glorious mouse.

Classify the failure

What you observe Most useful first check
No lights or response in any mode Connect the supplied cable and check power and charging before investigating wireless pairing.
Works by cable but not by receiver Check the selected 2.4 GHz mode, receiver connection, distance, and model-specific pairing or firmware instructions.
Works by cable but Bluetooth is absent Confirm that the model supports Bluetooth and that the computer has built-in Bluetooth or a compatible external adapter.
Connects, then drops repeatedly Separate power, receiver distance, interference, and firmware or software changes as described below.
Stopped after an update or receiver change Use the model’s documented firmware or receiver-recovery procedure; do not use a generic reset sequence.

These are diagnostic starting points, not a claim that one wireless mode is universally more reliable. The useful order is model and mode, power, wired-versus-wireless behavior, then firmware or receiver history.

Model O 2 Wireless: verify the three connection modes

The Model O 2 Wireless guide documents three ways to use the mouse: wired USB, a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, and Bluetooth 5.2 LE. Each mode has a separate setup path.

Wired USB test

  1. Connect the included USB-A end to the computer.
  2. Connect the USB-C end to the mouse’s front USB-C port.
  3. Use the mouse while it remains connected.

If the pointer works in wired mode, the computer can communicate with the mouse over USB. That narrows the investigation to wireless pairing, receiver connectivity, radio conditions, battery state, or related software, but it does not prove that the battery or receiver is healthy.

2.4 GHz receiver mode

The included receiver is paired with the Model O 2 Wireless out of the box according to Glorious’ guide. Select the mouse’s 2.4 GHz mode and insert the receiver directly into the computer. Keep the receiver close to the mouse for optimal performance; avoid leaving it behind a distant desktop tower or at the end of a crowded hub while diagnosing a drop-out.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If the receiver is not detected, move it to a direct computer port and test again. If the problem began after a firmware operation or receiver pairing change, skip repeated ordinary pairing attempts and follow the documented recovery procedure in the firmware section below.

Bluetooth mode

  1. Move the switch on the underside to BT.
  2. Hold the DPI button and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue.
  3. Open the computer’s Bluetooth settings and select Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini, whichever matches your mouse.

Bluetooth requires a computer with built-in Bluetooth or an external Bluetooth adapter. If the computer has no Bluetooth hardware, the mouse cannot appear in its Bluetooth device list until an adapter is available. Do not use the 2.4 GHz receiver instructions while the switch is in Bluetooth mode.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse charge?

For Model O 2 Wireless, Glorious recommends charging fully before the first wireless use and estimates approximately two hours from empty to full. That is the manufacturer’s estimate, not an independent measurement.

Charge it with the supplied cable

  1. Plug the cable’s USB-A connector into the computer.
  2. Plug the USB-C connector into the mouse’s front port.
  3. Leave the mouse connected for the estimated charge period before judging wireless battery life.

The mouse can be used in wired mode while connected. If the mouse still shows no response, try another known-good computer USB port and inspect both connectors for looseness or visible damage. A replacement cable is useful only when the original is missing or damaged. Confirm that a replacement USB-A-to-USB-C cable supports data as well as charging if you need wired operation; a new cable cannot repair a damaged mouse port, battery, receiver, or firmware.

Check the battery indication

On the Model O 2 Wireless, hold the DPI button to check battery status, or check it in CORE. When power is low, the LEDs turn off except for one LED on the left strip, which blinks red. Lighting brightness also affects battery life, so a heavily illuminated profile can reduce the time between charges.

Do not interpret a normal-looking LED pattern as proof that the battery is healthy. Compare behavior in wired and wireless modes, and note whether the mouse loses connection only after it has been unplugged for a while.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse connect?

Use the connection mode that matches the model and the position of its switch. A common mistake is attempting Bluetooth pairing while the mouse is set to 2.4 GHz, or expecting a model without Bluetooth support to appear in the computer’s Bluetooth list.

For a Model O 2 Bluetooth pairing

  1. Set the underside switch to BT.
  2. Hold DPI plus both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue.
  3. In the host computer’s Bluetooth settings, choose Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini.
  4. Move the mouse and computer close together during the initial pairing.

If no device appears, verify that Bluetooth is enabled on the computer and that an external adapter is connected if the computer lacks built-in Bluetooth. Remove an old, incomplete entry for the mouse from the computer’s Bluetooth list before trying the documented pairing sequence again.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a Model O 2 2.4 GHz connection

  1. Select the 2.4 GHz setting on the mouse.
  2. Connect the included receiver directly to the computer.
  3. Keep the receiver near the mouse while testing.
  4. If the mouse was recently updated, repaired, or stopped working after a receiver event, use the firmware and pairing recovery steps rather than treating it as a charging problem.

Use wired mode as a controlled comparison

Connect the mouse by USB and test movement and clicks for several minutes. A stable wired test indicates that the computer can see the mouse over USB, but it does not establish that the battery, radio, or receiver is functioning correctly. If wired mode also fails, stay with power, cable, port, and model-specific support steps before troubleshooting wireless links.

Why does my Glorious mouse keep disconnecting?

Intermittent disconnections require you to identify when they occur. Record whether the drops happen only on 2.4 GHz, only in Bluetooth, only after unplugging the cable, or only after the computer wakes or shuts down. Keep the receiver close during this test, because distance can create a misleading pattern.

Check the simple physical causes first

  • Fully charge the Model O 2 Wireless before a long wireless test.
  • Use a direct computer port for the receiver instead of a USB hub.
  • Keep the receiver close to the mouse.
  • Confirm that the mouse is in the intended mode: BT for Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz for the receiver.
  • Test with lighting reduced if you are investigating unusually short battery life.

These checks do not establish that interference, the battery, or the receiver is defective; they remove avoidable variables before firmware recovery or support escalation.

Consider firmware timing

Glorious lists Model O 2 Wireless firmware version 265 as released on March 31, 2026. Its changelog lists fixes for automatic power-off when the computer is off, disconnections associated with holding Caps Lock while wired, lighting-profile behavior, and cursor lag or pauses during DPI changes. Those notes apply to the exact Model O 2 Wireless model and do not guarantee that updating will solve every intermittent connection.

If your problem began immediately after a firmware or software change, use the documented Model O 2 recovery process below. Do not install firmware intended for another Glorious model.

Model O 2 Wireless receiver pairing and firmware recovery

Use this sequence only for the Model O 2 Wireless procedure covered by Glorious’ firmware guide. It is not a universal instruction for every Glorious wireless mouse.

Prepare the computer

  1. Disconnect other wireless devices while performing the recovery.
  2. Use USB 2.0 ports for both the mouse cable and the receiver, as specified by the guide.
  3. Remove any USB hub from the path.
  4. Do not run CORE as administrator.

Retry the firmware update in CORE

  1. Connect the mouse to the computer by USB.
  2. Connect the wireless receiver.
  3. Open CORE normally.
  4. If no update prompt appears, open Settings and choose Retry Firmware Update.
  5. Follow CORE’s on-screen pairing utility.

If the update fails, the guide says to ensure that the mouse is plugged into USB and that the computer has an active internet connection before retrying. Keep the mouse and receiver connected as instructed by CORE; interrupting the process can leave the devices in a state that requires another recovery attempt.

Complete the receiver-pairing step

  1. Unplug the mouse.
  2. Switch the mouse off.
  3. Place it within 10 inches of the receiver.
  4. Hold the middle mouse-wheel button.
  5. Switch the mouse to 2.4 GHz while continuing to hold the wheel button.
  6. Keep holding until CORE confirms that pairing succeeded.

If CORE cannot complete the operation, return to the USB, USB 2.0, direct-port, non-administrator, and active-internet checks. Do not substitute a Bluetooth sequence or a reset from another model.

  • What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.

This reset erases custom profile information. Record any settings you need before performing it. Because the reset is documented for Model O 2 Wireless, do not apply the same button combination to an unidentified Glorious mouse.

What differs for the PRO 1KHz family?

Glorious provides a separate guide for the covered PRO 1KHz mouse. That guide estimates approximately three hours to charge from empty to full, compared with the approximately two-hour estimate for Model O 2 Wireless. Both figures are manufacturer estimates from their respective current guides, not independent tests.

Item Model O 2 Wireless PRO 1KHz guide
Published charge estimate Approximately 2 hours from empty to full Approximately 3 hours from empty to full
Connection details in the cited guide USB, 2.4 GHz receiver, and Bluetooth 5.2 LE Follow the PRO 1KHz family guide; do not import Model O 2 pairing steps
Model O 2 reset procedure Hold left, right, and scroll click for 5 seconds; custom profiles are erased Not established by the Model O 2 instructions

The different charge estimate is one reason model identification matters. A PRO 1KHz mouse should be diagnosed with its own connection, firmware, and reset instructions rather than the Model O 2 sequence.

Replacing a missing or damaged charging cable

A USB-A-to-USB-C cable is a reasonable replacement category when the cable supplied with the mouse is missing or damaged. Check that the USB-C plug fits the mouse’s front port and that the cable supports data if you need wired use. No particular third-party cable has been established as a tested solution.

A replacement cable will not fix a faulty mouse port, depleted or damaged battery, failed receiver, or corrupted firmware. If a known-good data cable and direct computer port produce no wired response, stop buying cables and move to model-specific support.

When to contact Glorious support

Escalate through Glorious’ official support route when the correct model guide and its documented recovery steps do not restore the mouse. Include the model name, the connection modes tested, whether wired mode works, the LED behavior, when the problem began, and whether it followed a firmware or software change.

  • Do not recommend an unverified battery replacement.
  • Do not assume a receiver from another model or family is compatible.
  • Do not repeat a factory reset if the reset would erase profiles and has already failed to address the fault.
  • Keep the mouse, receiver, and cable available so support can distinguish a power, USB, radio, or firmware problem.

The official guide index and support route are the appropriate next steps when the documented procedure fails, because compatibility for replacement receivers and batteries is model-specific and is not established by the instructions above.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A compact decision path

  1. Identify the model. Read the underside or packaging and open that model’s official guide.
  2. Choose the mode. For Model O 2 Wireless, distinguish USB, 2.4 GHz receiver, and Bluetooth 5.2 LE.
  3. Check power. Charge through the supplied USB-A-to-USB-C cable and inspect the model’s battery indication.
  4. Run a wired test. Use it to separate a broad power or USB issue from a wireless-link issue.
  5. Fix the selected wireless mode. Use the exact Bluetooth or receiver sequence for the model.
  6. Recover firmware only when indicated. For Model O 2, use direct USB 2.0 ports, no hub, CORE without administrator privileges, and the documented pairing utility.
  7. Reset last. On Model O 2, the three-button reset erases custom profiles.
  8. Escalate with evidence. Contact Glorious support instead of guessing at battery or receiver compatibility.
