Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If a 24/7 YouTube music stream keeps playing the same song, trace the audio from the playlist or automation source to the encoder, then to YouTube and the viewer. If the song repeats before it reaches the encoder, fix the queue or rotation; if the encoder output is correct, investigate YouTube stream health and viewer playback instead. A repeated song is not, by itself, proof of a YouTube ingestion problem.
First, find where the song starts repeating
Check the same point in the broadcast chain in order. Listen to the playlist or automation output before it enters the encoder, then inspect the encoder output, YouTube’s Live Control Room, and playback on another device or connection. Note where the repeat first appears. This source-first sequence is a practical diagnostic approach; YouTube’s official help does not document the controls of third-party music automation software.

- Source queue or automation: Does the audio already repeat before encoding?
- Encoder: Does its preview or local recording contain the same repeated song?
- YouTube: Is the encoder output correct, but the live stream unhealthy or interrupted?
- Viewer: Does the issue occur only on one device, browser, or network?
Check the playlist and automation first
Listen to the source output or inspect its current queue and scheduled items. Confirm that the intended next track is present and that the source advances after the song ends. Look for repeat-one, a rotation containing only one item, a stale scheduled entry, or file-selection rules that keep choosing the same track. If the source itself supplies only one song, correct the playlist or automation job there.

Check the encoder’s output
If the source queue advances correctly, inspect what the encoder actually receives and sends. YouTube recommends checking the stream’s picture and sound in the encoder, checking source quality and encoder CPU load, updating encoder software, and reviewing a local archive if one is available. YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting guide is at YouTube encoder troubleshooting.
- If the encoder preview or local archive repeats the song, focus on the source, the encoder’s input, or its configuration.
- If the encoder output is correct, continue downstream; changing playlist settings is unlikely to fix an issue that begins after encoding.
- If available, confirm that the local archive is still being written and contains the expected sequence.
Read YouTube’s stream-health messages
When the encoder output looks right, open the stream in YouTube Live Control Room and check its health indicator and any error messages. YouTube documents ingestion errors involving stream format, bitrate, audio/video configuration, and keyframe frequency. These messages can point to delivery or configuration trouble, but they are not direct evidence that the playlist is repeating. See YouTube’s live streaming error messages.

YouTube’s encoder guidance also recommends testing with audio and motion similar to the actual broadcast and choosing quality that fits the available connection: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Check upload capacity and stream stability
A network problem is more likely to cause interruptions or degraded playback than to make a correctly supplied playlist select the same song. Still, check that the internet connection can sustain the stream, monitor stream health, and confirm any local archive remains intact. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; the recommendation appears on its streaming-tips page, which does not state a publication year. See YouTube streaming tips.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. - FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Rule out playback on one viewer’s device
Compare the live player on another supported device or network. If the encoder output and other viewers are fine but one viewer hears a repeat, troubleshoot that viewer’s browser, device, or connection rather than altering the broadcast playlist. YouTube notes that congestion and broadcast delay can affect live playback. Its viewer guidance suggests basic browser and device troubleshooting: YouTube viewer playback troubleshooting. If the problem persists only for that viewer, YouTube suggests submitting feedback.
Restart only when you know what it will change
Do not restart the whole broadcast simply because the player shows one song again. First locate the fault and check the recovery procedure for the specific automation and encoder setup. Restarting may interrupt the broadcast; YouTube’s reviewed guidance does not provide a universal restart procedure for 24/7 streams or guarantee that an archive or viewer continuity will be preserved. Treat continuity as dependent on your configuration.

Or let it run in the cloud
If you want to avoid keeping a home computer or encoder running, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud loops the uploaded material, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera feed, and it streams to YouTube.
